I get a screen Whoops of Conduit everywhere where I sail

I have a Firefox VIRUS! I can hardly navigate Firefox, because I still have the Conduit oops popup screen and cover my entire screen. I tried to reinstall Firefox and have contacted Apple without success (I have a Mac). Any suggestions?

    Hello
to change the homepage when opening firefox-press 'Alt' and click on tools-> Options.

Main menu, you can change the URL.

If the problem persists, you can follow these simple steps:

Enter about: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Accept the message of 'dragons' to see the Advanced preferences screen. Use the above search box to enter the below pref.

You can assign an empty string to stop your Firefox to retrieve "extracts" and brandLogo changes the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref. Right-click this pref and select Edit then clear the value as pref in the box that appears, and then click OK. Who will also disable "snippets" that appear under the container of the research on the default home page.

Then you must open the folder of your profile, via help > Troubleshooting Information > profile folder > > button view folder. Then close Firefox. Your profile file open with Firefox closed (Firefox '3-bar' menu key > exit/Quit), wait or two minutes, then remove the storage\moz-safe-about + home folder in the Firefox profile folder to remove the brandLogo and stored in IndexedDB code snippets to make Firefox use the default brandLogo and a defined default code snippet.

If you later change your mind about these changes, you can reset the pref browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl via the context menu and Reset allows to retrieve the default value using the storage\moz-chest-fort-about + home folder again.

Everytime I open Firefox 29.0.1 I Get the screen crash report I want to restore the tabs, as far as I know that Firefox crashed. This started after I upgraded to Ver 29.0.1

Rather than do a uninstall complete, you can try this:

    Create a new Firefox profile

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run):

    firefox.exe -P

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile. I recommend using the default location suggested, in other words, do not click the button to choose a different folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

If you browse around, exit, reboot, etc, the problem continues?

When you return to the Profile Manager to return to your normal profile, you might be tempted to use the button to delete the profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.

  • Equium A100-027: can not get the screen turns off automatically in Vista

    Hello

Got one of the new A100-027 of the load with Vista a couple of weeks. I can't get the screen to stop automatically when the appliance is left unattended. Standard windows screen saver or power options makes no difference. The screen is always on when I get back to the schedule of the machine later, I don t want to put a 'sleep' mode because the machine is internet access.

In desperation I changed the option to close the display does not go into mode 'sleep', but it would be nice if the screen would make her s auto off, instead of having to close the screen every time.

    Thank you very much
    Chris

A bit of an update, I found the screen stops automatically in normal conditions. But then, I leave the computer running a program of file sharing peer-to-peer on the net that he will not cut the screen down. Even minimize the program doesn t allow the screen to close.

    Hi Steve,.

First of all, you seem to be under the misconception that a response is a response. On ths forum, an answer is an answer if it solves your problem. In this case I clearly have not solved your problem, and you should review my answers to "uncheck" them.

IE6 does not work with this forum, and forum owners do not seem to appreciate how much of a problem, it's for people to re-setup of XP. I doubt they'll do something, even if they are aware of this gap.

  • Get blue screen errors. My hard drive died?

    Original title: hard drive crash?

Finally, my hard drive failed? A few months ago, I had a virus so I had to back up my entire hard drive on my Toshiba laptop. After I did this whenever I started it, I had to press F12 to load device of your choice. Then he said something on the hard drive failure 4, stuff like this press F1 to continue. I usually do and it runs slow but the other day I went through the process, and he came to load Windows XP then blue screened with c:0000218 (a registry file failure). I've tried safe mode, safe mode with command prompt last good known configuration and start normall. I always get blue screen and sends me in a boot loop. I tried also to insert the OS and restore CD that has not been loaded. Went through the process above.

What do you have with regard to the virus out of your backup drive?

How - to what support - did you back up your drive?

Is a version of Norton antivirus or security program installed?

When you use F12 to select boot device, what device were chosen to boot from?

The message you have seen 'SMART failure provided on disk hard 4' followed by an identification of the drive?  What disk drive has been identified?

What happened when you tried to use the CD "OS and recovery?  Please report any error completely, without paraphrasing.

See the following tips from frequent poster Jose Ibarra:

For those who STOP: c0000218 error, a chkdsk /r usually will fix you right up and then you will start normally once again, then it will be broken again with the same problem until you run chkdsk /r once again, so you have to work, do what you have to do when you get started - uninstall Norton completely and correctly.

After the chkdsk/r, you will still be able to boot mode safe but as Norton components not load safe mode and rush through the file system when loading.  Then you can go on the WWW of Norton of the site and use their instructions to get rid of the beast to uninstall...

Here are some instructions in order to at least run the Recovery Console:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • When I take a screenshot by pressing the print SCREEN key on my keyboard, I can't get a screen shot in small size, in a Word document.

    Original title: screen printing.

    Hi supperman.

I have a problem with the screen capture. When I take a screenshot by pressing the print SCREEN key on my keyboard, I can't get a screen shot in small size, in a Word document.

someone knows the reason for this? How can I get a screenshot in a normal size. Thank you very much.

    Hi tony.wang,

If you copy the screenshot in a Word file, it will be the default page of the word file size. It will be in a smaller size to fit into the Word file.

However, if you want to open the full-size screen capture, you can use Microsoft Paint on Windows application.

Thanks for anyone who can help me. PS. Keep the answers in simple terms please.

    Hi BSRC$, in stock

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. You receive an error message when you restart the computer?

Reinstalling Windows XP to the factory setting would not be the first option.

It is possible that some third-party programs or the services installed on the computer interfere with the installation of service pack 3.

I suggest that you try to uninstall service pack 3 from the computer by using the recovery console and subsequently ask the article below for what to do before installing the service pack 3on the computer.

    Hi norm3r,

Do you remember any changes before the question?

Follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode and see if the message appears.

    Step 2:

If the message does not appear in safe mode, I would put you your computer in a clean boot State. There could be a third-party program causing the message. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.

Note: Don't forget to restart your computer as usual after you fix the problem.
