I got a KB2505189 of Windows Update 'important '.

I got a KB2505189 of Windows Update 'important '.  When I go to upload as usual, it is not verified, but listed as "recommended".  My computer has Vista Home Basic 2007 SP2.  This update is for the problems that I had not.  I have the download after which the computer is very slow, so I uninstalled it.  Do I need this update?

I always download the updates 'Important '.

It is not a security update. It is not necessary to install it if you do not experience the issues mentioned in the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2505189.

As it is a change to how caching, you may have found that the performance would have eventually returned to its previous level.

  • Cannot change 'Windows Update' - "Important updates"

I had my Windows Update for updates but allows me to decide when to download and install the value.  This morning my computer downloaded, installed and rebooted without asking me.  I checked my settings and they are configured to automatically download, install and restart and I can not change the settings, they are grayed out.  I could go into regedit and change the settings here, but wonder why it happened and how I can access the setting of the control panel again.  I am logged in as administrator.  I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Given that you are willing to learn, to stop using the free scans of the internet, you will get your computer in trouble later. If your devices perform very well there is no reason to change drivers. However, if you feel a need for your devices performs better go to your computer manufacturer and check if updates are available. Also, forget not, everything simply because you change a driver does not mean your device will be more efficient. In most cases updated drivers will have little or no significant effect and can even run poorly. If you want to learn how to install a driver, download a driver, then follow the instructions, it is a fairly easy task. If you later want to restore the previous driver, it is also a fairly easy task and we can help you here.  Windows Update error 8024001F means you have lost your connection to the internet when checking for updates to fo, you can ignore it. • Windows Update put my computer in "out of area" condition

I have a brand new computer.  Dell Inspiron 1750 with Windows 7 Home Premium.

After that I got a few weeks Windows Update popped up window.  He said I had 19 critical updates and I wanted to install.  I opted for the 'yes '.

The program is run and then it says the computer needed to restart to complete the installation and I want to restart my computer now.  I opted for the 'yes '.

Restart the computer and to my horror, everything I had done to the appearance of my top Office was gone!  He looked exactly as it did when I put on the computer.  My picture has disappeared, the pier was in its original position, all of the icons for the programs were gone from the dock and the taskbar!

I did not go further... I went immediately to the restoration of the system, and thankfully it restored successfully!

But now I'm afraid to always install updates.

I contacted the support of Windows, but they said I would have to pay for more information and then they would not tell me how to pay support!

I contacted Dell, but I talked to a technician for more than 40 minutes and it took 35 of them just for him to understand what the problem was!  It must have been in India.

I contacted Staples where I bought the computer and immediately, they knew that the problem was something that Microsoft would have to answer.  So it took back me to alternate.  Accomplished nothing.

Microsoft sent me here.  I pray so that someone knows what's going on and can help me because I was in tears and want to kill the support of Windows!

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

Visit the Microsoft Solution Center and antivirus security for resources and tools to keep your PC safe and healthy. If you have problems with the installation of the update itself, visit the Microsoft Update Support for resources and tools to keep your PC updated with the latest updates.

    Hello

How the printer is connected to the computer-wired or wireless?

    Method 2:
  • Windows Update causes high CPU AND not let me install Windows 10

Windows 7 update has several issues:

1 Windows Update Service causes the CPU usage high - CPU usually works 50% or more with a single SVCHOST.exe running.  I click with the right button on the SVCHOST entry in Task Manager-processes and saw all the services that SVCHOST is still running.  One at a time, I stopped and restarted them.  Finally, when I stopped the Windows Update service, the cpu immediately fell to almost nothing.  I rebooted and tested several times, and each time, it was Windows Update service that was causing the high CPU.

    2. Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor says I could upgrade to Windows 10, and get the icon Windows 10 is in the toolbar.  But it has failed to install several times.  Now, after stopping and restarting the service of updating (and I checked, it is started), the window get Windows 10 rises, is empty and goes.

    3. I ran the Update Diagnostic and got 1 error:

    Windows Update error 0 x 80070003(2016-04-04-T-04_56_09P)

the Details of the Diag Windows Update window said:

    RootCause: RC-DataStore

    Error code: 0 x 80070003

    4. I tried to launch the 'Fixit' for update, but it did nothing.

    5. I tried to update Windows Update WindowsUpdateAgent30 - x 64 .exe Agent,

but it fails with this message:

"Windows Update Agent Installer has met a fatal error"

    6. when I try to start Windows Update-check for updates, it displays the dialog box "check for Updates" and activity indicator green runs and runs and runs for more than 10 minutes but nothing happens.  And when I check the view update history, it shows no updates, even though I know that I've run a LOT of updates in recent years.

    7. I thought to reinstall Windows 7.  I went to download from Microsoft, and when repair installation it activated my key it says that it wasn't a retail version, so check with the supplier (in this case HP).  I checked with HP and they said that this machine was is no longer supported.

    8. on the way I've renamed the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution-Windows SDOLD, force it to create a new (probably why it does not find the old updates).  IT did not help.

So it seems to me this machine is expandable to 10 Windows (it meets the specifications and the Advisor to update Windows-10 said yes and installed the toolbar).  But something is wrong, probably with Windows Updater, and now nothing will be update or upgrade.  And I can't get a new copy of Windows 7.

So, any thoughts?  I'm out of ideas.
