I had an accident with 9 critical errors 'boot sector of the hard disk is damaged; Hard drive does not match the system requests and sounding more serious elements do - what do I do now?
My thought is that this may be a false reading Trojan horse on my nerves because I ran what looked like a MS system restore, it cleaned 5 errors, but 9, that he could not do. When I clicked on a button, it says buy now. Theyw ant 84.95 to fix the rest of the messages. This doesn't [t seem to hide me.
In any case, I have about 20 messages in cascade of ereror file, most say that delay writing failed.
I'm NOT a COMPUTER GEEK I need assistance, but to do the answer: Fisher-Price for me to try anything out of the ordinary, which means that I have not the slightest idea.
Thank you
Rich Allen
It seems you are running a software fake Antivirus or fake-SystemRestoration. They pay for nothing, and often their so-called problems reported are false also.
You should get a decent Antivirus software and check your computer against viruses and malware.
Check free antivirus: you can get the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012:

Everything was fine until yesterday. Juice now, when I plugged the external HD into the USB port it does not appear in the 'my computer' window. But if she does not appear in the 'my computer' window I can't work with it or don't even know what it I have arquived in it.
Trying to find a solution, I realized that same 'information system' to 'System tools' is also not available. Pops up a window saying that "Windows cannot open help and Support because a system service is not ongoing enforcement. " To resolve this problem, start the service named help and Support '. Original title: help with hard drive of the computer.
Flow of the problem:
My aunt tried to install windows 7 on the previous copy of windows 8. Needless to say that it doesn't work and it has messed up the hard drive. So, I bought a vacuum. I formatted the hard drive using my other windows computer to have 2 partitions: a boot partition and system partition, and then used the program WinToUSB to install windows on the hard disk. The reason I did it is, because no matter how many times I changed the BIOS in my laptop of aunts, it wouldn't boot from the DVD player to load the windows software. After a few hours, I found WinToUSB. Once windows has been installed, I plugged it into the laptop. For a few hours, I didn't know what to do, because the computer does not recognize the hard drive (he said: "Not detected"). I decided to start from legacy, and then the screen deals
«intell...» »
and a bunch of dates, etc all the stuff on the screen to load legacy if you know what I mean.
He said "not plugged in the media. Check the power cord.
Then quickly changed screen before I can read almost anything and it goes to the normal windows screen black (with 4 colors). I said to myself, how can he be loading if the hard drive is not detected... Once it is loaded, he brought me to the blue screen (blue screen of death, if you want) I turned the computer on again, always noticing the hard drive was not detected. I ran all the recovery/repair options I could and turned off the laptop. I came back a few hours ago and I loaded the computer again and went into the BIOS. He said that the hard drive has been detected and said the news about this, as usual. However, at the start of the legacy of windows loading screen, it said still not detected. I then started to windows to see since it is now detected if that fixes the blue screen. Yet, there is no. I tried to go to the normal windows and screen remains blue. any ideas?
Hello Chris,
Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.
According to the description, it seems that Windows was not properly installed on the hard drive. I'm not sure how to work the software from third-party manufacturers WinToUSB and reliable installation process is. Microsoft does not recommend using any third party tool to install Windows on your computer, the use of these third-party tools can cause serious damage to your computer.
I would say to format the hard drive once more and try to install Windows through normal Windows installation process.
Refer to the section "using the installation option custom if no operating system is installed" in the thread below.
Installing and reinstalling Windows
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/installing-reinstalling-Windows#1TC=Windows-7
If you are not able to install Windows on the hard drive at all, I suggest you to contact the hard drive manufacturer to obtain a diagnosis of material performed on the hard drive.
Do not hesitate to write back for any further assistance with Windows, we will be happy to help you.

Canvio Plus 2.5 "1 TB external HARD drive does not work with USB 3.0
I've had this drive for about a month.
I am on Windows 7
I can only operate by connecting to USB 2.0 ports. It is then visible in 'My Computer'.
If I connect to USB 3.0, it turns on the case but does not appear in 'My Computer'.
I tried it on all my USB ports 3.0 - up on one and two in the back of my case.
I checked my BIOS and USB 3.0 is enabled.
I tried to follow the suggestions in the user manual, but the drive does not appear in the management of so connected devices on USB 3.0, but it does when connected in USB 2.0.
Any ideas?
Hello
As much as I know the Windows 7 system requires installation of additional USB 3.0 driver.
Many laptops and computers use USB 3.0 driver that was released by Intel... it is because of Intel chipset...
I guess that USB 3.0 is already installed, but probably you need to update the driver at least to the newest version...

STOR. E partner HARD drive does not work with USB 2.0
Hi all
I recently purchased a 1 TB STOR. E partner HDD and it worked without any problems on my laptop Macbook Pro which has only USB 2.0 ports.
A few days ago, the HARD drive has been disconnected from the laptop without ejecting first, and now it isn't recognized more than my laptop.

What should I do to have the HARD drive works again with USB 2.0?

Hitachi external hard drive does not work on Sony with windows vista
I use a Sony with Windows vista laptop. I just got a 500 GB Hitachi external hard drive today. It was detected after that I connected, but there is no way that I can access the hard drive and save the files it contains. I tried to go to the administration tool and tried to change the letters of readers and paths, but this isn't an option for me (he is gray and I cannot click on it). Internal SATA hard drive does not come with Windows 7
It's quite strange.
Computer has 4 SATA and 2 DVD discs.
Windows 7 sees only 3 drives. Does not even appear in disk management... It is not the case to find.
The missing disk is partitioned in ~ 100 GB, which contains a working copy of Windows XO Sp3 and a second empty partition (~ 400 Gb).
It manifests itself in Bios and I can even boot from the WinXP partition (selected through the bios).
In Windows XP, I see all 4 disks in disk management/Explorer, etc..
But when I boot on Windows 7, the entire disk is no where (no, it isn't there with a letter from non - drive is not there).
Have even tried switching around SATA cables, but still no effect.
Any ideas?
Thanx
Solved...
I ran a "scan for hardware changes" in Device Manager and it finds the empty partition on the disk. Curiously, he has not found the XP partition. Scanned a bit more time and nothing that the partition is empty. Restarted (actually shutting down) and re-ran the scan and it found all!
Thanks for your help :)

TOSHIBA external hard drive does not work with Mac
Finally, I used my Toshiba external hard drive on my MacBook Pro in December. I want to keep all my photos, and I've always been able to add new photos to it and delete the 'old' out of it. I plugged it today to add more photos, and it is not letting me. I went to the sharing & preferences and he read that when he used to say, read and write. I went to the info, and I noticed, it says that the format is Windows. Why he did change and why can't I use it? Can I fix it? Thanks in advance
Looks like you have formatted the NTFS drive that is read-only for OS X. Copy data to another drive, then partition and format the drive correctly for use on a Mac.

Original title: fix the system
While the site of the car got several popup windows "Security Fix" indicating several issues w/computer & scan to see what they were. Do that & came back with several "critical" errors & several "warnings" says had to buy the program to correct. Then stop computer & when turned on the next morning the only office was trash & start menu is empty with the exception of all programs. Went to windows defender for all programs & said it was off? I didn't turn it off & when trying to turn back & says cannot open program, error 0x800106ba. Help!
Do you have any antivirus, in addition to Windows Defender?
