  • Most of the games directx9 + who have played a lot on XP and the beta version of Windows 7 was even faster as GTA4 drag along with the latest updates to HW and SW. Games & all the performance Console is to kill the pc (if im a 4 pc now)

Hi, I bought Vista 64 bit earlier and it almost made me for the mac, but when I first tried win7 beta and it was great on a lower technical platform and could not wait for full details. so, I bought a brand new platform last i7 CPU and 6 GB DDR 3 channels and the latest Nvidia 275GTX 1765 MB Vram Grfx and could not do more than what was and is still ongoing. I installed my new win 7 64 bit 1 and was a bit off on how he has been slow to version beta on a platform nearly 5 years I used 7800GTX Athlon 64 4200, as what are you do looks great and moves faster than this in. * Vista. All my old game where _ while people with nearly the same and less spec flight here by so I switched to the 32 bit (good by my 3 extra GB installed) running. It was a little better, but the games that are 3 years old just down or blue screen. SO why go back in the power PC (XBox 360 + dales come to mind) are really trying to kill the power of the pc to the console, PDA etc.? So it seems that XP is the only one for some UM with games, virtual xp mode is a waste. So if you have something good, well, until a better operating system just to please let the people have because we are all put you into your work time back. Please notify.

    Hello microblackhole,

I understand that Windows 7 gaming performance do not meet the requirements you're looking for.

I wish to inform you that with Windows 7, you get to use 4 GB of Random Access Memory.

The major problem with your computer, it seems that there are a few old games that break with blue screens.

Windows 7 comes with Direct X 10 preinstalled. So you should try to understand what are the games that are broken.

Here are a few methods that you can analyze the reasons why the games are block:

    Compatibility:

Check if the games are compatible with Windows 7. You can run the troubleshoot compatibility utility to discover the solutions to run the games:

    1. open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting.

    2. under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.

Read this article which will give you more information about this:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-program-compatibility-Troubleshooter

    Analyze the event viewer:

I suggest you analyze the event viewer to find what could be causing the crash games.

    1. open the start menu and type event viewer in the start menu search bar. Open event viewer from the menu.
    2. in the case of Viewer click Windows logs in the left panel.
    3. click on application under Windows Logs logs.
    4. search for the error messages listed in the event viewer window Central Panel and double-click on the error to check if it log is related to games that are broken.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

You can check the link which will help you analyze the entries below Event Viewer:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

  • Currently, I have windows vista, & have heard say that windows 7 is much better. How much is the fee for the upgrade & which anti-spyware do you recommend?

I have an acer with vista soundcards computer & would like to know if my computer would work better if I downloaded windows 7.  I was crashing regularly lately & keep restarrting my computer.  It is sometimes frustrating.

I think you'll like Windows 7, easy to adapt to, run faster, less UAC popups.

However, you should check if there are Windows 7 drivers available for your model, if there then you know its compatible Windows 7.

Go to the Acer support website and search the Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.
    http://GD.PanAm.Acer.com/home/

If there are Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn them on a CD. After you upgrade to Windows 7 install all of them.
Install the drivers for the card mother/chipset first, then the SATA, LAN, Audio drivers,
and all the other remaining drivers you downloaded.

Check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows 7 drivers for your card.

  • Have a Pavilion m7680y... it is better to go from XP to Windows 7?

How can I know that to upgrade an old PC for Windows 7? It seems to work ok (even though sometimes it does not start immediately to the top and we have a difficult start several times before it doesn't). I know that I need Win 7 32 bit, but is it useful?

    You are the very welcome.

I am not a technician of PC repair of commerce or training, but what you describe... If it's a hardware issue that prevents the PC to start the right system, and it takes 3 or 4 times, that doesn't sound good to me.

Not to mention, you'd have to pay someone to check, and you're probably at least $50 or more for a professional opinion.  When you do that, you would be throwing good money after bad.

If it is a question of windows itself does not initialize the first time, then it may be just delivers software that install a new copy of W7 that would probably solve.

  • Have PSE6 and want to PSE9, it's better to buy the program to upgrade or new

I have a lot of photos tag and organized and would want the new version/upgrade for synchronization with those. Is this likely to work best with an upgrade or a new installation?

You can not buy the entire program. There is only the version of the EP every time: a full version. Update or not, when offered, is just one thing the price. What you get is not different whatever it is, even though it is quite true about the serial number download being the only platform while the boxed version is good for one or both.

When you first launch the organizer should hopefully find your catalog on its own. If it doesn't, go to file > catalog > open. (It's a good idea to run file > catalog > fix and optimize as before making the upgrade for you ensure your catalog is in good shape.)

  • G71 340US notebook: G71 340US notebook and migration of Windows 10. Have someone succeeded? Can I try or better not...

I was checking if my G71 340US notebook is OK to upgrade to windows 7 which I understand will be completed July 26, 2016. I read the web HP requirements, but they do not make sense to me as I am not an expert. I understand that HP does not guarantee the purchased booklets before 2013 will work and I bought mine in Nov 2009. My PRODUCT NUMBER IS: VM114UA #ABA and the name of the product is HPG71 notebook PC windows 7 (64-bit). I saw other people in this forum face with his apparently solved problems by only the individual who posted the message, other internet connection problems and systems fail. Can someone please tell me if I'm okay or is it preferable not to attempt migration. Thank you

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you face is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features is the specialized drivers written for the specific in your HP PC hardware - and unfortunately, there is no driver HP Win10 for your PC. HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

Personally, I recommend this doing the upgrade, especially since I did this on a laptop HP DV6 under Win7 and trashed the laptop upgrade bad, I had to restore it if you work with HP recovery media.

    Good luck

  • Dimension 8400 will not start up cd or dvd drive

    Hello

I have a Dimension 8400 that refuses to boot from the CD or dvd drive. In the bios, tried to move 'Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive' to the first position in the boot sequence. Also, I tried pressing "f12" during startup to access the start menu. I tried to select the "integrated or usb cd-rom" option from there with a cd bootable in both drives and still have had no success.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I also have the same problem.  Do not understand why Dell does not address this issue.  Trying to recharge a system using the Dell restore CD and have two CD drives in the system provided with the system and will not start to :(

  • Replacement masterdrive SATA not recognized by the Dell 8400 Bios AO 3 motherboard

I have a Dell 8400 about 3 years. The original hard drive (WD800 WD Caviar SE Serial ATA Hard Drive 80 GB) died. I tried to install a replacement drive (WD Caviar SE16 320 GB SATA) with the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Tools series. The hard drive cannot be recognized by the BIOS, not the motherboard. Trying to install Win XP boot up occurs OK, but at the time of the final installation of XP without hard disk is discovered and the installation is complete. I called Western Digital and they advised me in early versions of cards mother SATA that they have to recognize the hard drive. I need to "update the SATA driver" Dell and load it into the sequence during the initial installation. I need to do with a floppy disk because a CD will not work. I have no drive disk on the computer, only a CD player and a DVD player. Any help is appreciated, just trying to learn, I'm a newbie. Thank you

  • Dimension 8400 card PCI-e SATA boot

I have improved my 8400 with a SSD with only a slight increase in performance due to SATA I interface of the machine, my question is is this work card and I'll be able to boot from it?

    It's even more complicated...

The PCI - e SATA card probably requires a software driver to work, but the driver may not load unless / until Windows loads. If the Boot Manager will never see the map, and there is no option for startup in the BIOS in the D8400 PCI - e in any case.

The PCI-e card can not accept data from the meter to 250 and remove what to the bus at 150. Where it will store data that arrives faster he can remove what? So even if you can boot from PCI-e, it is still not going do everything faster than SATA1.

EDIT: Just looked at your link and - Yes - this card comes with a driver CD, so it cannot start the system because its driver is not loaded.

  • Dim 8400 cleaning-CMOS battery BIOS Reset?

    Hi people!
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. I've never dealt with before inside material operations. These tasks may seem simple to many here... but not to me... again.

I'm a bit confused after researching the best way to perform a simple computer desk case dusting/cleaning. I have a Dimension 8400 built in late 2004 runninng XP Pro SP3, BIOS Version A03 (11/10/04). My 8400 has been updated several years ago with two 500gig drives configured in RAID 0. This, after Dell phone support said I had a failure of hard drive... which soon discovered to be an incorrect assessment. Well, now I have a "failure" 250 GB external drive that works perfectly.

Although I have never personally opened the case before, I need to clean the inside and outside. At the same time, I need to change the CMOS 10 year battery, which gave me the message of low voltage F1 now for some time. According to me, it is better to change it before it dies completely. Then I learn that I'm going to lose, and so need to reset my BIOS settings back to the State before the battery change. And apparently, there are many other tasks I could perform as part of a proper clean-up. Additional maintenance tasks as remove the CPU heatsink and fan to reapply thermal paste, then clean each connector RAM, etc. I think, however, I will go as far as a battery change for now.

My real concern is how be sure all of the settings that I see in BIOS screens (which I have written down by the owner's manual) are all that need to be reset (as well as the date and time, of course). I wrote down to the boot sequence and 2 settings of the car that are not the default settings. All THE other settings across all screens seem to be the default settings. Am I right to believe that if I do the simple BIOS fixes back to that I see now that I would have done it good... that RAID 0 will be restored and that their output, I'll have a solid start and transparent in XP? I hope it's really simple. It sounds TOO simple. Advice or advice on possible "traps" are greatly appreciated!
    Respectfully,.
    Brad

All this sounds good. The manual will be old data in there. Boot in the Bios. Never open the screen and all the options and save what is there now. Then, change the battery. Boot into the Bios and replicate the rated parameters.

does anyone have a solution to this?

    Hello

The following steps can help (try again after each):

    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: Watch My > general > use > software update - remove any file update, if one is displayed.
    • Delete all profiles beta (on your iPhone and/or the watch), then restart both devices (this applies only if you have already participated in a program of Apple Beta software).
  • macOS Sierra installed ok, but the keyboard and mouse freeze after a short use.  Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm running a MBP 17 "(fin 2011) with CPU i7 2.5 GHz, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD 1 TB for storage."

El Capitan has worked well and all updates have been applied.

Sierra (production, not beta) installation went without a hitch.  However, after using Siri and some other applications (which I closed), I opened and used Pages (also just improved).

After about 15 minutes, the bluetooth mouse has frozen, then froze the built-in trackpad and keyboard.

I gave her a few minutes in the case where it is clear.  I have consulted the page document to my iPad and it updated on the MBP display.

Finally he needed a hard reboot with the power button.

I had to restart twice this way, but was running a different application when he stopped on occasion earlier.

    Anyone had this happen?

    Hello crashsite2,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to maintain your Mac and run as expected and I want to help you get your keyboard and the mouse works again.

Whenever we see the same behavior with freezing equipment it can help reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.  The control help SMC and regular systems of different hardware and connection on your Mac. Take a look at the article below to know how to reset:

  • I have a simple question which I'm sure someone will be able to respond easily - I have windows xp, I've added nothing to my machine, but it does not now download updates - when I try to go on the microsoft download Web site - I can't. Help, please.

I don't know how long this has happened, I get the shield down, but my downloads are not downloaded.

I know that I probably won't get a response to my three questions, but I want to post a separate thank you.  It's really great that you use your knowledge to help people like me who just bumble along...  Thanks again.

Now I have 3 questions that are not questions of direct update but I have the feeling that you can help.

I now have service pack 3

    1. is windows better than Kerio firewall
    2. I said do not install IE8 - what you think
    3. should I perform MAM and Onecare safety scanner regularly.

    I thank in advance.

    J

You're too kind, Joan. And, you're welcome mowst. Let's start from the beginning.
Does firewall Kerio and AVG protect your system ?
Go by the log MBAM, the answer is No .
Windows native firewall is a sufficient protection when a system is on a network where the router contains a hardware firewall . A router that has a hardware firewall is not so expensive and well worth the investment.
You can use a wired router, as opposed to a router costs a little more, if necessary.

Now, as for the antivirus, I'm not a big fan of the AVG used by the user to type.
I would recommend that the user typical home use AntiVir or Avast on moy. Like AVG, both are free for home use.
For paid AVs, I would recommend NOD32 or FPROT .
Microsoft Security Essentials, which is also free, we hope to be a solid AV, but I can not recommend at this stage.

Installation of critical security updates, it is a needs . It seems that some malware has been able to infect the system due to the absence of the same installation. Specifically this one:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {f5eb5c1a-9817-46c9-b36a-6a6a007a8621} \NameServer (Trojan.DNSChanger )-> Data: 85.255.115.110,85.255.112.175-> quarantined and deleted successfully.

Indicate if another update problem occurs that you wait not long to take care of it. Installation of critical security updates prevent many infections.

I think that IE8 is the best browser that MS has ever released. If you choose to install it, strongly suggests you download the standalone installation package manually and Save it. Close all open programs and browsers.
Temporarily disable the antivirus installed by following the steps in clean boot, and then install it.
Make sure that you reboot twice when it installs.  You should receive at least a prompt to reboot, but do another after recommend an anyway.

Now, back to the question 3. Strongly suggest you boot the system in Safe Mode and do a full scan of the system, just to be sure that MBAM has detected and deleted all the malware. Make sure you update MBAM before each scan .
You can do it in normal mode Windows or Safe Mode with setting in network, but not in Safe Mode as long as the system is not connected to the internet in Mode without failure.
It will take time for the full analysis to run, but it was worth. There may still be present hidden malware.
And Yes, do at least an fortnight analysis with MBAM is well worth.
In fact, you should consider buying the paid version, as the protection in real time, unlike the free version, and it will not come into conflict with the installed AV.
Did a scan monthly with the OneCare safety scanner is also a smart thing to do.

BUT , if it were a client system, I no longer trust him to bank services online or any other financial transaction.
The system may have wrong headed by the DNSChanger trojan to web sites that were not what they seem.
As well as information from financial transactions, passwords that you use, and no personal information stored on the system were also sent to the malicious web servers.
To strongly suggest that you change every password you use just to be on the safe side.
If you need or want to do transactions from this new system so the only way that you can trust , it is to format the hard drive and reinstall XP. Now that Service Pack 3 is installed and If you have the XP installation CD, you can do what is called a slipstream SP3 with the installation CD. In this way when format you and reinstall XP, it will be the SP3 and you'll save time by not having do not install several security updates.
It's really not hard to do. Here's a good tutorial with graphics that explains it all:
XP CD slipstreamed Windows using SP3

And, finally, any AV or security program protects a system when the user installs the questionable software .
Be very careful of free software, stolen software, cracked, key generators and other programs.
Always investigate any software that seems too good to be true. As in real life, something that seems too good to be true probably is . Discover the software using Google or Bing to see what others have to say and to report on this issue.

Be careful and safe surfing, Joan.
