Probably that no, you do not get a response because you posted in the wrong section. It's Windows Vista.
You have Win 7, according to you. Here is the link to the article on Win 7:

I want to install Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?
You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.
If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

Greetings,
I need to upgrade my ASUS laptop which is running Windows 7 Home Premium, fully licensed and the COA sticker. I went to the Microsoft site upgrade Express and bought a key specifically to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional W7HP.
When he proceeds to upgrade the message says that I have an incorrect key. I tried the automatic upgrade indicated by the purchase of Microsoft site and also by running the Express upgrade and manually enter the key from the email sent to me by Microsoft.
Here's the MGADiag report for my system:

Thank you for that. I did some more research on the forums then rebooted my machine. The installation is completed successfully. I think that Microsoft should focus on this. Very confusing tell them that this is a key issue when all that is needed is the machine to be restarted. Thanks for your help anyway. See you soon

Problems with upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows 10 home
I am now hours in the process of installing Windows 10 Home with no problems until now. After agreeing to the "terms" page 10 Windows install started "getting updates." It's on this page since nearly an hour now and no not yet spent 0% even if it says that it "may take a few minutes."
This part of the installation is expected to be completed yet? If so, what should I do to expedite the process?
Cancel, restart, and then manually update:
Task of pre-required

- Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
- If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.

hard drive crashed reloaded windows 7 Edition home premium and now the automatic activation Center said I failed to meet the requirements to activate my copy of windows. I have the keys to the family upgraded to windows 7 Edition pack Home premium. If I remember correctly which is enough for six computers. then I am owner of a key for windows 7 Professional and three keys for windows 8 Professional I have only 5 computers and we got xp on 3 have windows 8 and the hard drive crashed on my computer with windows 7, replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows 7 and now I can't turn it on. what I am doing wrong?
Have you tried to restart by phone?
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950929/en-usPlease note that the family pack is an upgrade.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

Unable to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium Vista Home
I tried several times to upgrade to Windows 7, but I get the following response when running the upgrade;
These devices may not work properly after the upgrade. Before the upgrade, we recommend that you update the drivers for those devices. Cancel the upgrade, open the control panel and search for "update device drivers" or go to the website of the manufacturer of the device to search for updated drivers.- Mobile devices: Microsoft USB Sync
- Network adapters: Microsoft Windows Mobile remote adapter
- I tried the lead as much as I can to try to alleviate this problem, but I still get the same problem.
I know that my laptop is able to support Windows 7 that I am able to do a clean on a new hard drive install but it is has obviously something installed on my Vista HD which prevents one upgrade, I know I have the ability to perform a clean install, but I'd rather do an upgrade , because the amount of software that would need to be put back would be much too long.
If you have run Windows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx Upgrade Advisor then uninstalled all peripheral incompatible & software but still this problem, there is no alternative to the clean install, other that ignoring the msg & installation

I bought a copy the retail of Windows 7 premium (updated version) upgrade on Vista Home Premium SP2on my 3 yr old HP Pavilion Desktop on 22/10/2009. Vista has been installed at the factory. The PC more than meets all hardware reqs. I tried 4 or 5 times to upgrade the operating system on this PC & it runs fine until the process to halfway in step 5 in the upgrade and stops. I forgot the exact message, but it's like 'cannot be upgraded pc, abandoned process, will now restore the Vista installation. After this x 4-5 in the last seven days, I'm sick of what's going on. I've been building & PC repair & installation, configuration, and upgrade Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos operating system. The Win 7 installation routine is so demanding that if all the program requirements are not met (for the latter)-it just stops and is abandoned. I've never had this kind of trouble before. NEVER Yes, I use the on-line support docs & Software Advisor compatibility. I've never seen an OS that just works! Absolutely amazing! I also tried this on my computer Lenovo laptop lastnight - same thing!
Hi Jim,.
Thanks for the information. You said you ran Upgrade Advisor several times on both machines. This show no error every time? Also, I would recommend unisntalling any antivirus that you have currently and to help clean up the provided utilities if any, of the antivirus manufacturer. In addition, unplug all unnecessary devices such as printer, network cable or any other devices you have.
I hope this helps!

I am trying to upgrade to Windows 7 on my Lenovo x 200 tablet which is currently under Vista 64-bit. My first attempt was with a version of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit which, once started let me choose the upgrade option but then I notified (obviously) that would work to upgrade Vista 64 bit to 32 bit 7. Since I also have a DVD of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, I moved forward and put this disk to try to upgrade. However, when I run the Setup it goes right to the choose what partition I want to put a new installation, do not allow me the upgrade option at all. Why is this and how do I fix this if I can do an upgrade rather than a new complete installation then I won't lose all my programs and others and end up with a folder of big 'windows.old '?
Which edition of Windows Vista are you attempt upgrade from?
If they editions do not match, you will not be able to make a place in the upgrade:
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.
If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

upgrade to VISTA (x 32) Home Premium from Windows 7 Home Premium (x 32).
I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium (x 32). I have a HP Pavilion a6450z, which has a SLIC 2.0 BIOS made by Phoenix Technologies. I'm running VISTA (x 32) Home Premium now, that came on the computer when I bought it in May 2008. From what I read, that I need to update my BIOS so it will have SLIC 2.1 otherwise I won't be able to activate it. Is it true or when I install Windows 7 will automatically upgrade my BIOS?
Thanks Hank
HankT,
If you ask a question with statements not reported, make you it harder. Do you have a link for your references about a need to upgrade the BIOS. On the Web THAT NL page listed, there is no update of the BIOS.
I have a HPm8100e CTO, M2N68LA Narra2 Council. You have the Narra3 Council. The upgrade on the spot (abeit's Ultimate) has been completed. The only hick-ups have been re - install a few games, and new printer drivers. (I had 2 printers on this computer).

How can I reformat laptop which came with the free upgrade to Windows 7. Update download
I have a Hp Pavilion DV4-1430us comes with Windows Vista and had a free upgrade to Windows 7. I have updated successfully in December 2009. Laptop still works fine, but it's certainly time to reformat. Only problem is that I don't have the disc of Windows 7 because it was a download. I believe that the recovery partition will have the older operating system. Can I create a recovery for the OS system disk I use now (windows 7)? I don't have any except the original e-mail that said that I ordered the upgrade with a non-functional link on the HP Windows 7 Upgrade site.
The Vista HP recovery partition may still exist, but, due to the upgrade of the operating system, it may not work. Options to return the computer to a factory State include the marking of the score of "HP Recovery" active using the Windows disk management console or you are ordering and using a set of HP recovery disks.
Before you recover your computer, please check your email for a provided HP Windows 7 key or use the Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to retrieve your current Windows 7 product key. Then download the same version of Windows 7, you have HERE or HERE. Now create your installation media of Windows 7 on a DVD or a USB Flash drive. Please download and use Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to create the installation media.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
