  Bob and Dave have already answered your question as it was initially posted - no, you don't have to uninstall a newer version to install an older version.

  Regarding your question - tracking only it won't not cause damage to your PC, at least not to install any piece of software legitimately acquired would be.  However, things can go wrong with any installation - so backup first.

  Dave pointed out something important - that CS4 is 32-bit, then make sure that your computer meets its needs.

  If you want version 12, then you don't need to install version 6, you must install version 12.  If you are really talking about Photoshop Elements, not Photoshop, then the link below, you should get to the download.

  There is no way to download a complete Installer for Apple Aperture, because the opening is is sold and implemented to the point. The only that downloadable version is 3.6 since the AppStore opening, if you already updated to this version of the AppStore.
