I have an error recurring message component audioeng.dll is missing (so no audio anywhere). Can I just download this somewhere?

This error occurred after the updates of Windows (all 22 of them) on 15 April.

Hello PriscillaHoadley,

I suggest you try the steps below to resolve this issue:

I also suggest that you run the Audio troubleshooter. This will allow to diagnose and automatically fix the problems of noise and acoustic:

Make sure you have the latest driver for your Audio device. Visit the manufacturer's Web site and download the latest drivers for your Audio device.

If nothing works, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your Audio device. This will reset all of your Audio components.

To uninstall a device with Device Manager:

1. launch Device Manager.

2. in the left pane of Device Manager, open the node that represents the type of device you want to uninstall, and then right click on the input of the unit.

3. in the context menu, click on uninstall.

4. in the dialog box confirm the device removal, click OK to start the uninstall process.

5. when the uninstall is complete, unplug the device.

Note: Make sure that you have the source to install the Audio drivers before installing it.

Thank you
