I have Firefox V3.6.24. Why without worrying if I upgraded to the last V or just download the last V 8.0, 3.6.24 charge up?
I am trying to install the latest versions of Firefox and Thunderbird.
When I update Firefox it re - installs the same version or degrades the version of Thunderbird installed.
Then if he upgraded correctly, it modifies the Thunderbird V 8.0 downgrade! Then when I install Thunderbird back V8.0, it changes the Firefox back to V3.6.25.
I updated many times and never had anything like this happen before.
Brian
Your string UserAgent in Firefox is probably messed up by another program you have installed.
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/USER_AGENT
type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right click the preferences that are "BOLD", a line at a time, select reset.
Then restart Firefox

I currently have Firefox 9.0. Why the start page for firefox keep telling me that I don't have the latest version?
You may need the old start page. Go to Firefox > Options and in the pane general, under Startup, click on restore by default. The page you have probably (http://google.com/firefox) only served to 3.6 (and tells you you are outdated), but some users seem to have gotten stuck on it after updating to Firefox 4 or upper version.

My OS is Windows 10. I have Firefox 38.2.0 and it tells me that it is the most recent version. However, I got emails telling me to upgrade to the latest version which seems to be in the 40s. When I go to the https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ website, it tells me
"Looks like you are using an older version of Firefox."So I click on upgrade and it loads a file "stub". I close in Firefox, go to the folder where the file is located and run it. At the end of the process, he told me that Firefox still works and I have to close it for the new version to load. Then I go to the Task Manager, and he told me that no request to don't run! I went through this process three times without any positive result.
What to do?
I'll answer your question, but I suggest not changing your version of Firefox until find us out if having to do any with your plant, discussed here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1078897
At some point, there are two different versions of Firefox:
- Public release of the standard/large: currently Firefox 40.0.2
- Extended support release (ESR): currently Firefox 38.2.0
The version of ESR is intended for companies who need maximum stability for their users. New features usually are not added for at least six months, although security patches are issued approximately every six weeks.
You want to switch to the standard version? If so, this is how I suggest to do:
Clean reinstall it
We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.
(A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 40.0.2 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(B) the release of Firefox (if any).
(C) to rename the program folder, either:
(Windows 64-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files (x86)\FxESR
(Windows 32-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files\FxESR
(D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- \FxESR\Plugins
- \FxESR\browser\plugins

- I am running Windows 7 64 bit
- I have Firefox pinned to the taskbar.
- When Firefox opens, there is a new icon which opens onto the bar spots. Normally Firefox would open within the icon that is pinned to the taskbar.
- When I close Firefox, the extra icon disappears.
- Firefox is acting like the icon that is pinned to the taskbar isn't still there.

I have an iMac 2007 mid running osx 10.6 with 4 GB of Ram. I want to upgrade to the Mavericks, 10.9. I don't have the installation CD and the App store only allow me to upgrade El Capitan. I'm afraid that this will bring my iMac to a crawl. Any thoughts on how I can find an installation CD or recommend other methods to achieve this?
Thank you
Larry
Your model is eligible? You can install El Capitan now. There is no disk installer for use with OS X since the release of Snow Leopard. Why do you believe that El Capitan will bring your computer to a crawl, but the Mavericks will not?
If I were you I would stick with Snow Leopard, because it is more suitable for your old hardware. Note that Snow Leopard is needed in order to upgrade to Lion or later version.
Upgrade to Snow Leopard
You can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.
After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store lets you download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
General requirements for Snow Leopard
1. equipped mac to an Intel processor
2. the 1 GB memory
3. 5 GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
charges may apply.
6. some features require Apple iCloud services; fees and
conditions apply.
Upgrade to El Capitan
You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.
Upgrade to El Capitan
To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan
1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later
2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version
4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later
5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version
6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version
7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version
To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

I have a pc running Windows 7 64 bit. I have the latest Firefox V 10.0.1, automatically updated several days ago. Everything was fine until about an hour before, when I launched Firefox and all the Favicons for my favorites are blank dotted squares. I checked this forum and found that this problem should be fixed at 10 V. well, he's back.
What is the solution?
I can understand why the favicons have been lost. Earlier today, I ran the story of Vipre Antivirus to address another question I've had. Who may have somehow caused the favicons to clear.
Thanks cor - el for your suggestion. I ran of CheckPlaces and selected 'Reload favicons. He charged more, but not all. I also discovered that just open the bookmark, the favicon for the site gets reloaded. So those CheckPlaces cannot charge, I can recharge by simply opening the bookmark.
Maybe someone can explain to me why the history cleaner wiped out the first bookmark favicons.

If Firefox does not count instructions to clear the history on close what else is ignored and where it is storing the information.
What you have set in the Options-general-startup-when Firefox starts?

on the tab General options, I have a home page at startup. But Firefox 28 ignores this option. It opens rather than who had open last time.
My root problem could not turn any subject: config parameter. So, I guess
My preference were corrupt. I did like one of your suggested links and launched the safe mode and reset to factory default. I'm good again. Thank you!! -

I have Firefox 12.0 installed and when I open Youtube and/or Gmail they detect that the browser is obsolete. Why is this happening?

I don't have firefox on any another computer because I only Iphone without computer
You can not. FirefoxHome is an application to synchronize specific prefs or settings between 2 or more devices, either an iPhone and a computer or several "smart phones." An iPhone has nothing to synchronize with. It would be like trying to shake the hand of your self; unless you're real "articulated", impossible.
