  I recently changed my motherboard and processor because my old card mother and fried CPU. I had Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) installed earlier, an upgrade to Windows 7 (64-bit). As soon as I started first of all, I got a notification asking me to re - activate my Windows but when I try to activate it with my original key, I get this error: "the activation server reported that the product key has exceeded its limit of unlocking".

  I tried to activate by phone, but instead connect to the automated system, I keep to redirect to voicemail after a few rings. Can someone help me to activate my Windows again? I'm in Karachi, Pakistan.

  The report shows that it is been activated previously, but that the material has changed considerably since the activation - hence the request for reactivation.

  Telephone activation is definitely the way to go - but it's in the lap of the gods (i.. activation e. operator the MS) as to if they will allow it if the original Win7 installation was an OEM.

  Looks like you somehow accidentally active the option print to file in the Advanced Options print dialogue. Uncheck that and this problem should go away.

  Hi, I'm a student in computer science at the College and I have a Dreamspark account that allows me to download free software such as Windows 7. Be a computer science student I am required to install and reinstall the operating system on a regular basis, so that I can finish my homework. However during the activation process a message came with the above error code indicating that I exceeded the limit MAK, even if I only used it on a computer without hardware changes with each reinstallaion.

  Is there a solution that would allow me to reactivate my computer so that I can do my college course?

  A MAK license works like a regular retail key, which means that its static and doesn't require reactivation as a KMS license. So, I find this very hard to believe. Not even licenses KMS requiring reconnection to the KMS host every 180 days to be re-authenticated don't require relocation.

  Contact your local service, laboratory or software Center links for troubleshooting and reactivate the license.

  You can try also reactivate by calling Microsoft Volume License Activation Center:

  (a) update you are trying to install? (It would be better, if you can provide the number of KB)

  (b) are the other updates related to Windows from installing on your computer?

  I suggest you try the following steps:

  Step 1: Disable the software security and then try to install the update

  Note: Activate security software once the test is completed.

  Step 2: Download and install the update in the clean boot state

  To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

  1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

  2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

  3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

  4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

  5. click on OK.

  6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

  After starting the computer, download the update manually and try to install it.

  Note: Return the computer to normal - reset the computer to start as usual (follow step 7 in the link) once everything is done.

  It could be that Reader is not used to open it in your browser.

  Have you tried right-clicking on the link for the pdf files, download them and then using the file > open within the drive itself?

  There should be a plug-in for Windows Media Player do an Auto RESUME, but it will be 3rd party. It isn't there natively.
