I lose my tab groups, once I close Firefox. Is this normal?

Several times I have created groups of tabs, named and worked with them successfully. But every time after that I closed the session of Firefox and signed out of the browser, and then later started new session of Firefox (Firefox turned on again), I can't goback to tab groups I've created in the previous session. Is this normal? Is it possible to save groups of tabs for later use?

Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear the 'browsing history' when Firefox is closed because who wins and prevent Firefox tabs from the previous session.

I did experiments with groups of tabs and usually when I leave Firefox I'm going on the red circle on the upper left side of my screen and it closes. However, when I do that I lose my tab groups. I need to know how to leave Firefox and NOT lose my tab groups?

If you click this button, and then you close only the current window, but the Firefox application is still running.

If you have done this then reopen this window closed with App tabs and tab groups via ' history > recently closed Windows "and use Firefox > Quit to close the Firefox application with all the windows open.

  • If I leave tabs open when I close Firefox then shut down PC, are the tabs available to hackers?

I did not have this problem but someone at work warned me not to leave the tabs open when I stopped because the tabs open when the browser opens again... which is what I want, but she explained that open the tabs without having to re-enter passwords, so even if the PC is off hackers can get into the tabs already protected by. It makes no sense to me, but she is adamant, saying his bank account was wiped out because she didn't close her bank tab on its browser when the computer is shut down.

If your computer is turned off, it cannot be hacked. In addition, you can set your preferences to not save passwords if you wish. But no, if your computer is turned off are not accessible (for obvious reasons). For better security, you can use a master password in Firefox or put a password on your PC if someone turns on it back, they need to put a password. • App Tabs disappear whenever I close firefox

I just created the application tabs using Firefox 4 RC, but when I closed Firefox App tabs I had put in place there where he went.

Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear the browsing history.

App Tabs are stored in sessionstore.js as part of session data, in order to ensure that this session restore is enabled and working properly.

This has just begun. When I close firefox it tells me that I am closing multiple tabs. and will not let me save them. the only option is to cancel or OK. When I say OK and restart Firefox all my tabs go :-( This happens every time now. I know how to recover my old tabs but whenever I close Firefox it always warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs.

Tanks for help getting Firefox working properly again

Do not use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' to clear the 'browsing history '.

Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is a more reliable way to restore the session data.

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
  • CTRL F4 closes Firefox, cancel all downloads

When he has that one tab, using Ctrl-F4 closes firefox and cancel all downloads. This happens when the erasing of a few tabs and pressing Ctrl F4 a little too long. ALT F4 gives a warning that firefox download yet, just Ctrl F4 isn't fair. CTRL F4 is supposed to close a tab, it should not end firefox in the first place. It should leave a blank tab after the last tab is closed, or, if you insist, to close firefox, and then give a warning as with Alt F4 download. I guess there is no way to change this? If so where can I lodge a complaint if it gets fixed?

This is the default behavior, but you can change it so that it goes to a tab blank rather than close Firefox.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Search for browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab preference and double-click it to change its value false

  • Why that I lose my apps tab and tab groups each time firefox is updating to a new version?

It seems that every time I get a new version of firefox my apps tab and groups disappear. Why this happens and what I can do about it?

You should see this button on the tab bar, once you have created a group of tabs.

If you cannot find it then open the Customize and drag the button to the tab groups in the palette of the toolbar on a toolbar.

Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize" or "Firefox > Options > toolbars."

  • How can I close all the tabs at once without having to restart Firefox

At a time, how can another closing a tab I close all my tabs without having to restart Firefox

On a Mac, you can close the window and open a new window to achieve this. Which does not close the Firefox application. You can also a right tab and choose "Close other tabs" from the context menu.

Set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab pref false on the topic: page config to prevent closing the last tab to close the browser and display a close button if only one tab is open.

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    • Use the filter at the top bar of the on: page config to more easily spot a preference.
    • Preferences that have changed see the bold (user set).
    • Preferences you can restore the default value or change via the context menu.
  • FF29.0 crashes when loading loading with tab groups, very well without tab groups. WHY?

I have approximately 16-18 groups of tabs (at least, I did it in FF28.0). When the update FF29.0, FF crashed EVERY time when trying to load. Finally, I did a fresh reinstall of FF29.0. After you have reinstalled my 18 modules, I ran the Session Manager and loaded a session from before I had updated to 29,0. He had all my groups of tabs! WOW, it load. Well, it loaded only ONCE. He never asked again. Crashes every time. I saved sessionstore.bak and sessonstore.js at different times. I copied an of before the crashes and FF29.0 works very well. It does everything just not with all of my tab groups. Crashes every time during loading. If it does not work with my registered tab groups, I'll be forced to return to FF28.0. Would not progress.

    I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!
Turns out to be the the traffic light (BTL) Bitdefender module. Well, any.
BTL verifies each NEW site against a master list of 'bad' sites. Does ONCE for each NEW site, you're going to. apparently, it holds a register that there is no need to double-check sites, he already deleted. I have about 160 Web sites registered in 16 groups of tabs. In Firefox 28.0, these sites have been deforested when I visited them. When I try to move to 29,0 FF, BTL tent now re - CHECK all 160 sites! What happens while FF 29,0 installs and has just overwhelm the program installation or my computer to make the installation crashes! During installation, I noticed my CPU monitor 4 cores would be twittering about 30-40% along the CPU usage when all of a sudden all 4 cores would hit 100%. This will continue until the installation would break (after about 10-15 seconds).
So, I finally tried a relocation that would lose all my Add-ons, but keep my tabs, bookmarks and tab groups. With NO Add-ons installed, 29.0 FF was fine and all my tabs and groups of tabs were still there. The first add-on I installed was BTL. She appeared to open a new tab telling me that the site Web of EACH tab (all 160) was OK. So, he opened more than 160 tabs to say that every site tabs was clean! It took a while. (But not as long as it took to close!) So, after the closure of all 160 tabs, I restart 29,0 FF and NOT of PROBLEMS! Opens right and I still have access to all of my tab groups. After 3 hours, I managed to install all the ons Add-21 I had before. YES!
The short answer, I suppose, is simply uninstall BTL FF 28.0 to 29,0 pre-upgrade. Then install BTL and wait until it finishes its controls to close all tabs. Hope this helps someone.

  • Keep my pinned tabs disappear when I close and restart Firefox, this isn't after a crash. How can I stop this?

Keep no apparent reason of my pinned tabs disappear from Firefox. This has happened three times now. I have not synchronized to any device. I keep my story and not erase it.

    Hello Silvia,.
    Sorry, you have problems.

The system to store this information seems to be a bit fragile.

When trying this please ensure you favorite whatever it is open and close the unnecessary tabs and don't let any ongoing work, initially you can lose more than just pins tabs. Once things go wrong, that several sessionstore files can be created, clear duplicate follow these instructions:

    1. See this for instructions on the profile search. Use the troubleshooting information, while Firefox is open profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data#w_how-do-i-find-my-profile
    2. Make sure that everything is backed up or bookmark and close Firefox
    3. Remove all duplicate sessionstore.js files found in the profile. Those with a number or.bak
      As mentioned in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Multiple_sessionstore.js_files
    4. Restart Firefox, you may have lost some information i.e. pins or other tabs
    5. In the future when shutting down Firefox always use the menu option, which is from the Firefox button on a Windows machine. Do not kill the process, or close the window of final Firefox using the Windows icon at the top right.
