On some pages (like gmail.com), instead of the address of the page on the address bar, I get a mixture of icons (rss, homepage, Star, previous-next, print, refresh, search etc.). I can not copy the address or refresh the page. I downloaded firefox again, but it did not work.
Hello Kadomar, other users have reported that this error can be caused by third-party extensions like Icon RSS 1.0.6, which apparently is no longer maintained.

I was able to hit just enter on websites in the drop down, before, but now it does not work. I tried the upgrade to FF4 thinking that it can solve my problem but not yet, I have to use the arrow at the end of the address bar to run to the page.
If this does not work properly in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

Until typing today on behalf of the part of a site or a page that is shown a list of suggestions from my previous navigation. However, since installed 43, the first option is now either visit: xxxx, which is always a site, never a page, or when the string does not have a page it goes to the research: what I just typed.
I would like to disable this, but I am struggling to find the solution for it.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
You can set browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete to false to remove the suggestion of visit page from the drop-down list.
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue. -
Why focus/cursor selects the address bar when you click in a new page?
This happens all the time, but most of the time... When I browse a site by clicking on the links, whenever a new page load the address bar is chosen to start typing. When I go to scroll down (using the down arrow/page keys) he'll scroll rather recent page URL in the address bar, instead of scrolling to the bottom of the page.
Looks like this behavior just started today...To be clear, that's not something to do with the tabs, pages open in the same tab by clicking on the links at left will also affect the cursor to the address bar.
I don't think I'm in safe mode, I tried to reset firefox and this still happens. If this does not work as expected, can I disable it?
You open links in the same tab?
This also happens if you click the link to open the link in a new tab?
Have you checked for problems caused by plugins?
In the Firefox Safe mode, these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled (subject: addons)
- Default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbars is used (localstore file - safe.rdf)
- JIT JavaScript compilers are disabled (subject: config page: javascript.options. * jit)
- hardware acceleration is turned off (Options > Advanced Options > general)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected

When I open a page in firefox there is nothing on it just a black page with no address bar or whatever it is
Currently in version 33, Firefox has implemented a new faster way to loading Web pages. This new feature is called OMTC. However, there are still tweaks to the Mozilla developers make this.
There is a known issue that Mozilla works very hard to fix: If you have black pages on some sites, here's what you can do to avoid the problem in the meantime:
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- Click the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
To disable hardware acceleration
- Click the menu button
then select Options.
- In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
Now, quit Firefox, wait a few seconds and start normally.
Please let us know if this solves the problem. Engineering is also collecting more information on the question would require that you fill out this survey
Thank you!

I know this may not seem like a big problem, but I can't bear to have the button to the left of the address bar in back. I've always had the right of it, more toward the middle of my screen. I can just get used to it completely out there. I hate that it is anchored in the address bar. Whose stupid decision was that? I tried to find an add-on, but so far without success.
You can watch the extension Classic theme restaurant owner to customize the appearance of Firefox.

I've recently updated Firefox to the latest version 10.0.2. After that I could not enter any website address and press the Enter key and get on the site, neither could I select a Web site in the drop-down list of sites visited previously. The only way I could get there by pressing the arrow to the right of the address box (reload current page). Once I disabled the extension AVG, everything worked normally. As soon as I activated the extension AVG, it stopped working again.
Known issue. See:
Try what sc123 suggested the link above. Send an email to [email protected] with your full license key and let them know. I'm sure his AVG question not related Firefox. :))

I need to have Firefox remember passwords. When I go to 'HELP' to get the instructions to do this, I am told to click on the 'KEY' icon on the left side of the address bar. But there is no icon.
Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, Firefox Version 9.0.1
I could use some help, thanks.Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode.
To view the history settings and cookies, choose:
- Tools > Options > privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: use the custom settings for the story of
- Uncheck the box: [] "always use the navigation mode private.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

In Mozilla Firefox 8 Beta, when I slide site, she transformed into a 'new' window with an excerpt from this Web site, and there does not have the ability to add site (travel), under the address bar, bookmarks Panel, but it was a useful feature.
Drag the favorite icon in the URL bar, not the icon on a tab.

I can't search in the address bar on my tile page in FF beat 34. Can anyone help?
I've updated to FF33 and then beta 34. I use my page tile as my home page. In both versions of FF, I can't search in the address bar of the page tile or can I enter a URL and have it take me to this Web site. No help available? I looked high and low and found nothing to help so far.
Possible culprits:
1st guess is Tab Utilities
2nd is Norton Toolbar -
Before I reset my Firefox I could any words in the address bar and Firefox would redirect me to the Web site. For example, typing ' reservoir dogs, imdb "would redirect to the film's IMDB page, and type a random sequence of characters would take me to (for example) a website of a company that uses these characters as an abbreviation of his name.
I never put this option anywhere, it was just like that for quite a long time. Now, this possibility came to me and I can't seem to fix it.
I use Mozilla Firefox 21 laters.

On the address bar, when I write something, I would get Yahoo instead of Google search results. I don't know how to change it because the Options under the Tools tab do not seem anything which changes the search engine for the address bar.
There is a hidden preference that you can edit to make it use Browse of Google search of name that has been used in Firefox 3.6
- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the preference keyword. URL, double-click it and change its value on the link below
http://www.Google.com/search?ie=UTF-8 & oe = UTF - 8 & SourceId = navclient & gfns = 1 & q =
If after changing the preference it is still using Yahoo, there will be an add-on that is the cause. Check for modules of Yahoo and if not necessary to uninstall them. If you have the add-on of net assistant freeze.com , which can cause research go to Yahoo, uninstall this add-on - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Because the update to 40 FF lance a blank white screen with no controls, no toolbar or address bar. I can create a new profile in the Profile Manager and then launch firefox functional but a previous bug still exists, the text in the address bar is replaced by blocks of solid colors. The only solution I know because this is: config > gfx.xrender > toggle true to false, but on the relaunch firefox returns the white screen.
2 should I proceed to report a bug, and where should I report it? On bugzilla? Is it easy to report a bug or find out if she is already underway on?
The system I use is Lubuntu 14:04
I found my own solution to the problem, which was caused by the incompatibility of the 40 FF with the Lubuntu versoin I used 14:04, so I've updated at 15:04 and FF still works, though only after the creation of another new profile.
