Thanks for your answers,

I do all these things, but I don't have the money to buy all the, what would you recommend?

Kind regards

In this case, I start with the Plan of Photography Photoshop offers Photoshop and Lightroom for $10 per month.  Then switch to a full CC subscription when you can afford it.  Photoshop will do OK vector graphics and high quality PDF print to send output to the printer.  When it is really not very good, for multi-page documents, InDesign is King for this application, but you might be able to find MS Publisher on an old desktop DVD.

I was told to go to each individual forum, lol im new here idk. I would like to learn graphic design. I'm trying to find free tutorials online. I don't have everything other than the player and these pdf files adobe software. I like the drawing and think I want to go back to College. I think graphics would be cool! I have NO idea how use any photoshop, dreamweaver, or has any other adobe software. I can't afford to lynda.com, coursera.org, udemy, etc.. There is no "request" in itself, and according to which browser and the device is used, this could end by into a mess of different options of incorporation. So to save your sanity upload your files to a service like Soundcloud and use their built-in widgets and code.

  • SUGGESTIONS NEEDED: Graphic designer who needs to organize my graphic library

Ive been wanting to find a better way to organize my extensive library of what follows (art of vector and Raster): Raster/vector designs, Logos, icons, vector graphics, backgrounds, Fonts (I use FontBook), print & web templates, Stock Photos, a large NUMBER of vector art, something frills to multi color images complex Web Design stuff (icons (, buttons, banners, etc) and last but not the least swatches native Adobe CS, patterns, gradients, actions and brushes.  I'm sure I've left out some, but you get the idea.

I build my large collection for the period of 4-5 years and has grown to 40g of HD space to house these vaguely catergorized subfolder (i.e., vector Art, Stock Photos, plugins (degraded, brushes, etc) PS backgrounds/Textures, so on and so forth.)  I would like to store my data on the outside but with the speed of the USB flow, am not wanting to slow deck more than it does already. But help with external storage and quick access to the files would also contribute to

As your probably thinking he is trying to become difficult to manage and even worse finding or searching for items, whereas many generically is Ive gained package names (132456.eps. flower00234.jpg, etc.)  Bridge helps a lot, but I'm trying to catergorize records and the Word key, or images that as clean as possible I hope to do it manually on a system recommended or using a 3rd party software to apply metadate as keywords that will be available is IDEAL!

I started using Lightroom 3 to manage and catalog my collection (no), but like the keywords functionality and features meta data in LR.

So what I am trying to accompish:
    1. organize all my art in of specific catergories
    2. I hope use metadata and keywords within the operating system program or a 3rd party manufacture easily searchable items in the Finder or Adobe Bridge.
    3. properly manage and store the art as it comes to me several times a day to keep everything up-to-date if I make a backup of all my design files, every month or so to keep stored on computer or on the cloud.

Of the suggestions(software/procedures), links or general help on this issue is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for any help lended! Anyone who is willing to help me with this and is interested in Graphic Design or graphics tools, I can certainly share ANYTHING from my collection to help

  • What font would you recommend for a University newspaper?

I created a new design for my University newspaper. What font do you recommend, and what style exactly?

I would be happy to know your opinion and maybe even some still useful advice, since this is the first time I'm designing of a newspaper (I use InDesign CS3)

    Thank you

    Tom

But seriously. For a newspaper, I would avoid without font ("Arial", Helvetica, universe, myriad). Why not try some of the rich classics? A few of them come on the InDesign DVD, but I don't know which. Minion Pro is a very nice, but perhaps too modern. Try Jenson Pro, Caslon Pro or Adobe Garamond Pro. The 'Pro' means that these fonts have extended features, such as the former graphic ornaments (very pretty when used in the proper context!), style old numbering and true small capitals.

Use a classic police will be your journal gives a very high class look. For a large page, you can use columns of three (or four); even on a smaller size of the page, two columns look better than one. It also gives you the advantage of having guidelines for one, one-and-a-half, two or even three images wide column and headlines. Try to go to a fully justified text; tinkering with hyphenation settings until it looks right (I think that default ID parameters are okay for the fairly narrow columns). Use a lot of spacing; This guy don't like being cramped.

Use small caps to the recurring titles such as "CALENDAR"; 'FORUM '. 'LETTERS '. "EDITORIAL". Good headlines, you have the choice of what whether normal type (in a really huge size) bold or italic. Focus on columns for that look of the 18th century

Whatever you do, don't run amok with different fonts! Use a font exclusively for texts 'main '; Use it in a smaller size for the "lesser" texts, such as the photo captions, tables or 'notes '. Don't let someone tell you about in screaming headlines! ; Once you decide on a design, stick and defend when necessary.

  • Student graphic designer - which Mac?

    Hey everybody!

I'm a university student who has two years left in front of her. My laptop is almost the end of his life, and I want to transfer via a certain type of Mac. I do a lot of design work, and as tempting as an iMac, I need it to be portable for my graphic design work of campus.

So I guess that, to start: MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro? Research online, I have done so far, I still see talk about the MacBook Pro, but if there is a case to make for others I would be more than happy to hear them!

Taking the example of the good MacBook Pro, where should I go from there? Obviously being a student and hoping to eventually get an iMac on the road, I'm not looking for the most expensive thing out there (a big reason why I'm looking for a 13 inch instead of a 15-inch.. but I would like to though), so even if I hope it would be a little cheaper than that, lets just use like $1,500 as a max.

When I think about my use of the laptop, what I really use it is Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (when I hope that this new Mac so I will seek to get the creative cloud), Microsoft Office, Chrome and Spotify. So what should I search for storage and Memory-wise? What 128 vs 256 a big different in my case? What 8 GB vs 16GB of memory?

Sorry for all the questions, but if anyone has answers or other important supplements I should take into account when making the decision, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Consider getting the small screen, then adding a much larger external display (non-portable).

That allow you better portability and always give you a good amount of space on the screen once you have gotten to a workplace or your apartment or dorm.

  • iMac specs for graphic design

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade to an iMac 27 "with the 5K retina display. Im a graphic designer by day. It includes video editing, photo editing and some other processes quite heavy. I'm looking for some advice. IM thinking the the 4.0 GHZ i7 with 16 GB of ram and 4 GB video card.

I wanted to just make sure that 16 GB of ram and video card of 4 GB set at level is necessary. The ram should be good from my understanding. I wanted to check on the 2 GB to 4 GB. I have a Nikon D750 and shoot with that and my ghost 3 dji advanced quadcoptee for photos and videos. No advice and no information would be useful. The best buy sales guy told me just says 2 GB is enough, but it doesn't seem like him reading some forums and helpful advice on apple's site.

    See you soon!

Edit: I have a macbook 15 inches of 2011 which has been running Adobe CS6 and now creative cloud. Recently, he took to always for my photos and applications to open it. I just want something more suitable for the process that I am running without basically put my MacBook to death.

RAM is scalable user and it's cheaper than buying the RAM from Apple. The upgrade, it is just a 5-minute process. This means buy computer th with the base 8 GB and then buy RAM from a source reliable as OWC (www.macsales.com) or critical (direct purchase) and increase the RAM yourself. Video cards can never be upgraded so get what you need. In addition, buy an SSD based machine, the largest capacity, you can afford.

Finally, consider getting a refurbished Apple iMac in order to save hundreds of dollars. These are practically as good as new, have the same warranty as the new and are identical for new. In short there is no downside.

Opengl32.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. I reinstalled the graphics drivers. During the execution of the games, it shows this error. What should I do to fix this? Is it a graphic file or a file from microsoft?

    Hi Jason,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your system and graphics card?

2 did you a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

This error can be caused by an application, including any old games you have installed on your system.

Because you tried to reinstall the drivers for video card, you can try to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

I'd take a peek at Photoshop or Illustrator.

Photoshop is a pixel based image editing program that is well suited for creating and editing digital images, especially photographs.

Illustrator is a vector program that is great if you want to create vector graphics based that you can scale up without loss of resolution, for example, a logo.

What you choose really depends on your needs and knowledge if you create bitmap images or vector.

This has nothing to do with the Muse. Management of the user accounts, payments and what you have is linked to a backend suitable running on a server by using electronic commerce systems such as XtCommerce and CMS such as Joomla, Typo 3 and so on. Of course, you can sign up for an additional account Business Catalyst Pro as well. Whatever it is, you are nbot getting away with a free meal. It costs a monthly fee in the world.
