  • I am repeatedly offered Windows Vista Service Pack 1, even though I downloaded and installed successfully.

Original title: Windows Vista SP1 64 bit (KB936330) 1.5 MB update.

I just reformat my computer and am trying to do the update process.  I use Microsoft Vista 64 bit and got most of the SP1 is installed.  TI completed most of it restarted, full of a few other updates and is now stuck on 1 part of the update.

He keeps asking to install "Windows Vista Service Pack 1 for x 64-based Systems (KB936330) which is a 1.5 MB file.»  I go through the process.  He told me that I downloaded and installed successfully, and then when I hit the button to Windows Update, there is still wanting to be installed.

I'm sure that this issue has arisen before but most of what I saw refers to the two error codes or problems with the installation of SP1 together.  Help, please!

I had the same problem, I must have downloaded and installed sp1 about 10 times and there is no way that he was only 1.9 MB.

I finished downloading it manually from the main site of Microsoft.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=30
Once you are done installing the update and Windows update tent always updated sp1, simply click on "check for updates" at the top left of the window, and who should confirm that sp1 has been updated and it should not try sp1 update more.
It took about 1-2 hours in total, but it worked for me, hope this helped.

I tried to update to windows, but get error 80070490 that says I have a corrupted file (CBS Manifest) that is to be updated... so I check the error and it says to uninstall windows and reinstall using the dvd... but I don't have the dvd for windows vista service pack 2... I have the id... product help, my pc is done to the breakpoint until I make updates! I tried Fix - It, and it says error can not continue... I ran to day thought advise that I could upgrade to windows 7... but apparently so that I can fix the problems of windows, I'm stuck. Thanks for any help!

    Hello

Error code 80070490 claims a repair upgrade install, not an uninstall and clean reinstall.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80070490

If you receive the Windows Update 80070490 error, it means that a file (CBS Manifest) that is needed to install updates is corrupt. To correct this problem, you will need repair Windows. Repair Windows will not damage your personal files or the programs that are installed on your computer.

Have you tried the other option for system update readiness tool in the link I just gave you?

The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that cause Windows Update 80070490 error. You can access and run this tool by reading this Knowledge Base article on the Microsoft Web site.

And you need a DVD of Vista from Microsoft to do a repair installation upgrade according to the instructions, NOT the normal manufacturer's recovery disks.

You will need to borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD from a friend or working knowledge.

Here's how a repair upgrade installation:

"How to perform a repair for Vista Installation"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And if you can't get a loan from a Vista DVD from Microsoft, you may need to do a reinstall of Vista:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

  • Windows 7 Service Pack 1: 99% then default configuration Service Pack, back changes error

A few days ago, I noticed an update for Windows 7 Service Pack 1. I tried to install it today, it worked very well until the moment wherever it asks to restart the computer. Then after reboot it starts as normal updating process however it gets to 99% on Service Pack configuration, it breaks down and I'm left stuck at "failed Service Pack, changes in recovery configuration. Please don't turn off your computer"for more than 10 minutes, then stops. Then, at the start, I notice nothing has changed and the same thing repeats. Help, please

OK guys after weeks of not to answer, after that I forgot the end of this question, I managed to get it working, but me a few months after my laptop broke in which I had to reset to factory settings, which reset all the system updates facts to the laptop, then when I tried to install IE9 and Windows 7 service pack 1 they both successful without problems. • Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, Windows XP Service Pack 2

    Hello world
    "I have a ' Toshiba Satellite Pro A10: P4 - M 2.2 GHz/XP Pro/15" TFT/40 GB / 768 MB.
I have installed Windows XP Service pack 2 in my book.
After the update to Windows XP SP2, the only way to start my computer after putting in "sleep mode" or "hibernation mode" is witch power off and then start up.
I reinstalled "Toshiba Power Saver", but nothing came of it.

What can I do about it?

    Kind regards
    Krasteff

Obviously the Service Pack 2 does not match current preinstalled saver.

First installation, you have is to wait for an updated version of Toshiba Power Saver, which is XP Service Pack 2 tested. But so far, you have no "Standby" or "hibernate".

Installation of the second. If you need to "Standby" or "Hibernate" feature, uninstall Service Pack 2 and wait until there is a solution to the problem of energy saving.

The two sounds is not perfect, but I think the second installation is the best way. Toshiba will surely bring a new Service Pack 2 tested Power Saver version.

    Good bye
