I'm trying to set up two monitors

I'm trying to set up two monitors on my computer. Currently, I use XP. I have two monitors showing the same on both. I would like to be able to use the second screen to only email or a spreadsheet. Surely I'm missing some instruction. I use two monitors with a VGA splitter.

I'm sure that when you use a separator, you won't be able to use the extended desktop mode.

    How it accomplishes this feat?

    Thank you!

Please first try the following connection:

1 VGA monitor to the VGA port

    2. the other monitor to the DVI port

The video chip on your computer is not really good for both monitors. You may need to buy a better video card. Specifications:

    Hi John,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Forum of the Microsoft community.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to determine the root cause of the problem.

    1. Did you do last changes made on your computer before this problem?

    2. Have you tried to monitor primary as secondary and vice versa?

    3. All device drivers are updated?

After reading your post, I understand that you want to use two monitors with extended view, then you can try the steps in the following Microsoft article and see if it helps.

If the problem persists, then pass to the below mentioned method and see if it helps.

  • How to set up two monitors with screen LCD and HDTV on computer that is running Windows 7

Issues of identity and position monitor

I use a LCD and an HD TV on my computer. I have HDTV mounted to my left on the wall in my room and the LCD is on my desk in front of me. I have my monitor set as my main screen and HDTV as secondary. Windows identifies the HDTV as monitor 1 and my screen LCD 2. After starting the computer they work very well as they should. My problem is during the boot process. When the computer starts, it displays only the boot screen/POST on monitor 1 (HDTV) but not my main screen #2 (LCD). This is a problem when I don't have my HDTV now, I don't see the MESSAGE options. I don't want to always have my HDTV and crane my neck every time I need to change the BIOS settings or use the MESSAGE options. Is there any solution for this?

    Hi Darth Polizei,

I hope that's not redundant but did you try to set your monitor 19 "as the main display?

    1. In the screen resolution window, you click the icon of the monitor that represents the secondary monitor.
    2. You click to select the "Make my main screen" check box, and then click OK.
    3. You log out of the computer.
    4. You log on to the computer.

    Please let us know.

  • two monitors. Icon of the secondary monitor missing in settings etc.?

    Hi all
Tried to set up two monitors to operate independently on my HP PC under XP SP3. Do the normal thing - will display/settings/Advanced tab and selecting monitor gives me no indenties or options to select/set another monitor. I use two VGA ports for two monitors, but only will draw upward. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Have a GeForce GT 430 PCI express card 2.0 chart.
    Margaret of blessing

As the GeForce 430 has only a single VGA port, you must also use the VGA port on another device (the motherboard?).

Make sure that your BIOS is not set to disable VGA port of the motherboard when it detects another adapter to display.

Also, there is a map of multi-monitor.  You can get an adapter DVI / VGA and try plugging your second VGA screen it if you can't stop the BIOS to ignore the motherboard display adapter.  (Or just because it's an adapter better.)

The first two steps in debugging: 1) is it connected?  (2) is it turned on?

  • Two monitors on Z220 Workstation

    Hello!

I hope I can get help setting up two monitors on my workstation Z220.

    OS = Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)

    CPU = Xeon E3 1225 V2 3.2 Ghz (a supposedly graphic internal Intel HD P4000)

    Video = NVIDIA Quadro K600

    Monitor 1: HP Pavilion 27xi w/DVI interface

Monitor 2: Interface Acer X243W w/DVI (other monitors w/interface available DVI)

I found a guide on the HP website (http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA4-4148ENW.pdf) suggesting it * is * possible to have several screens on this system, a branch of the internal graphics port, and the other attached to the graphic video card port. The completed manual to activate the onboard graphics in the BIOS (which I did), download and install integrated on the hp.com website - graphics card drivers but I can't find the drivers. Cannot download it from Intel site either.

This form of reading a little more closely, it looks like I'll have to throw my Quadro K600 card and replace it with a NVS 300, 310 or 510 if I want two monitors on my computer Z220. Is this correct, or is the user manual HP correct and all I need are the integrated video drivers?

    Nick

Found answer on my own with a continuous research. Finally on download for internal video driver Intel - Intel site, not HP. As soon as it was installed the second monitor will light up. They confirmed that it * is * possible to use internal graphics * and * graphics card discrete to run two monitors. Purchase of NVS 300, 310, 510 is NOT necessary. Hope this helps someone else.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 850: Using two monitors

I just updated my PC and bought two HP monitors.  Specification PC says he can support up to three monitors.  I'm not sure is how exactly to set up two monitors:

    -I.e. the ports to be used at the back of the PC.  I have an HDMI cable, but it seems that to adapt to one of the ports - yet there are 3 others in the back of the PC;

-Sounds like a silly question, but there are 3 other major ports at the back of the computer, are these a different type of HDMI port.  The monitors that I bought the HP Pavilion 23xw will have VGA and HDMI (the rear ports are labeled HDMI 1 and HDMI 2).

As noted, it might look like a very stupid question, but I can't find any help online to detail the ports on the back of my graphics card.

    Hello

He did 3 display ports, 1 HDMI port and 1 DVI port:

    http://support.HP.com/in-en/document/c04714105

You can use 1 Display port and HDMI port 1 or 1 HDMI port and 1 DVI port the port on which you have on your monitor. This video card can connect up to 4 monitors.

  • Two monitors with computer desktop Slimline?

    Hello

I want to set up two monitors with my HP Slimline.  Is this possible?  I know I have to change the graphics card to accommodate two cords.

    Slimline s5310f

    64 bit

    NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

    LG E2360V LED monitor

    Hello

    You have options:

    1. install a video card that supports two monitors. -> the best performance option

    2. use a video USB adapter/converter.   -> What are your needs of video connection? VGA, DVI orHDMI

    3. use a USB attachable monitor such as this AOC 16 "monitor.

    Option #1.

Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

  • Two monitors to HP ZBook 17 F0V57ET (love at first sight and displayport)

    Dear Hp,

Recently I bought a HP ZBook 17 F0V57ET which is great for my work, the study and the release for consumption!

But miss me something credential which is, I would like to connect 2 left more 19 "monitors DVI - D to my ZBook. I thought that it would be possible to connect using the connector display port (--> DVI cable displayport) and the other by the thunderbolt (stroke of lightning-> DVI cable) connector

But to my knowledge some graphics cards have the digital video of the connectors (e.g. displayport, HDMI, mini displayport) directly related to each other and not is able to display a monitor at a time.

So before buying the cable and 2 wall brackets for monitor I would really like to know if this is possible.

    I hope to hear soon!

    Thank you!

  • Setting up dual monitor

I have a brand new out of the box H8 1360 T and I'l want to set up two monitors. So far, although there are several DVI ports on the machine, I was able to get a single monitor to work (off the coast of the graphics card as the difference for internal ports).

    Suggestions?

I was unable to find a LG Flatron W2252DQ but a LG Flatron W2252TQ happens instead. According to the specifications of the W2252TQ monitor, it takes in charge the VGA and DVI - D inputs. Please confirm the model number and look at the back of the monitor for the input connections. Post back with more details.

It seems that the HP vs19c only supports a VGA connection.

If the information above is correct, you can use the adapter DVI / VGA port on rear #4 connect the HP vs19c monitor and buying a DVI - D cable to connect the computer to the monitor LG Flatron W2252TQ on port rear #3.

    Please send Bravo
