Hello

The Fn + F9 is the default keyboard shortcut to turn off the Touchpad on Toshiba laptops.

If this does not work for you, I would recommend that you ask for help on PC support forums Toshiba laptop. There may be something different on your system.

  • Unable to run the operating system on Toshiba Satellite L500

    Hello
I can't get my Toshiba Satellite L500 13D PSLJ3E to work. Here is the chronology:

    1. I brought with Win Vista, it worked great for about 6 months, but began to slow and I decided to change to Windows 7

    2. I installed Windows 7 using custom install (create new folder 'windows', not upgrading to Vista). Once more, it worked fine for about a month, but once more, he ran into trouble - indicating the version of Windows 7 the screen blue of death for 0.5 seconds, followed by a reboot.

    3. I've been searching the net and they said that the best way to get rid of the problem is to re - install. I did (after trying it several windows repairs), but yes, that's right, he's dead - before you start windows, it showed problems with Realtek Wireless.

    4. I had hope that this third time - will work her charm and re-re-installed W7 (each time using new installation).
Once more time - does not work, but this time I can't even install - windows installer stops at about 60 percent of expansion records and wrote: difficulties with the media device. And after restart I can not find the Hard Drive(the BIOS shows only FDD and CD/DVD)

Now I'm stuck here, the only way to start the windows is in Mode safe on my Wondows installed on point 3, but not all the time.
Unfortunately, the first of my recovery DVDs cannot start and on top of that I can't get into the recovery partition by pressing 0 at first upward, but I see the recovery Partition when I go to the WIndows Installer.

PS: I have problems with the high temperature of the laptop.
Is it possible that HD goes out to safe the data thereon for overheating?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you mean that the HARD drive is not recognized by the BIOS?
This would mean that the HARD disk is dead.
This would explain the Windows installation problems
I don't very well why the HARD drive died after a short period of use, but it turns out that HARD drive might die always head m accidents are not unusual and sooner or later would die each HARD drive

However, I don't see a real solution that you need to replace the HARD drive
If the laptop is under warranty, then you might ask a technician ASP replacement that should be done for free

    Good luck

  • Unable to get the touchpad disabled on my Asus laptop

No way to disable the touchpad on my Asus laptop.
My asus is the model #K52F

    Hello

My first thought is that the best place to look is with Asus themselves. Every time when dealing with a piece of built in material on a laptop computer, the manufacturer is the bast place to search for answers.

I think you should update the drivers on the computer. Here's the link to those.
    http://www.ASUS.com/notebooks/Versatile_Performance/K52F/#download

It is likely that the driver for the mouse pad does not work properly. Please download the drivers and display the results.

Also, don't forget that there should be a way to "permanently" to disable the touchpad from the computer's BIOS menu. This will ensure that the touchpad is still disabled, unless you go back into the BIOS and turn it back on.

Normally you get the BIOS to boot the system upward. A message should illuminate saying press F8 Safe Mode F9 for BIOS or something very similar. Again, it is a better thing for ASUS to answer and guide you if you get stuck.

I hope this helps! Please post back with the results!

  • envy2014: how to disable the touchpad on my desire

Just moved from an older HP laptop and I am unable to disable my touchpad.

I use mostly the mouse and all sorts of strange things happen if the touchpad is enabled...

    I solved the problem.

Laptops the jealousy of the high-end (mine is an Envy 15 t-q100 have more keys that can be turned on/off.)

Instead, the touchpad is controlled by the properties of the mouse (in the directional pad) where there is a tab "HP Control Zone settings" and 2 "buttons":

1 activate the area of control HP and 2. Disable the HP control area

There is also a section of icon of the window that allows a system tray icon which is a shortcut to get to the ability to turn on/off.

I wish that HP had not removed the double click.  It is simpler and faster.  Aparently, this has been done because some would accidentally double press the key and disable it.  That never happened to me and I wish they had asked me before the change - or at least offered an alternative version of touchpad in the configuration process.

  • Disable the touchpad to Inspiron 1764

    Hello

I can't turn off the touchpad on my Dell Inspiron 1764.  I downloaded the latest drivers, but still no luck.  The access key does not work and when I go into the properties of the mouse, the touchpad is not visible - therefore, that I am unable to turn it off that way too.  I have Windows 7 64 bit, and I was wondering if this has something to do with the drivers work does not correctly.  At some point, when I updated the drivers, I got the error message that the pilots did not download correctly and to check for errors and fix them, I didn't click to correct mistakes and move forward.  I hope someone can help me with this!  I am constantly hitting the touchpad and jump around everywhere or completely destroy stuff.
    Thank you!

For the Inspiron 1764, specifically, install the driver Alps Touchpad R275830 of http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=101686&t=0&i=1

Run the driver to install it.

    Reset

After the restart, find the Touchpad icon in your taskbar (at the bottom right by default), and then right-click to bring up the menu.

    Select Touchpad properties

In the Touchpad properties, click the device that you want to select

There is a checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box to the box 'disable the Touchpad/Pointing Stick when the mouse USB's present external

Assuming you have an external USB mouse connected, your touchpad should now be disabled. I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, YMMV on other operating systems

  • How to disable the touchpad disabled?

I just got this laptop and it's driving crazy me.

I tap on the touchpad, and I touched the area where you can disable the touchpad about 1,000 times a day. No matter if I do what he says, I can't that faucet back on.

I press the windows on my KB.  Type mouse into the search bar.  Tab and then arrow key over to reactivate and it's driving me crazy! I use this for business, but also personal use.

I see you where you can disable the touchpad, I don't want that.  I want to disable the zone of the touchpad where you tap enable and disable.  It is a defect of design for me.

    Hello stillrivers,

I see you are having a problem with the touchpad does not disable. Did you by chance a look at the post which explains how to disable the touchpad?

    ·         Go to mouse properties windows and click on device settings

    ·         Highlight the Synaptic Touchpad and click settings

    ·         In the properties of Synaptic Touchpad Windows on the left and the Panel you will see Touchpad Disable Zone, click it.

    ·         Uncheck the box 'double-tap to activate or disable the Touchpad'

    ·         Click OK

  • How to disable the touchpad on my Tecra M10 - 10H?

I just want to know if it is possible to disable the touchpad and is so, how, please?

What I tried (which did not work):

    1. by pressing Fn + F9.

    2. go to "Mouse properties" and looking for an option to disable the touchpad it.

After reading your ad, I must say that we don't know anything about your laptop.
What operating system do you use?
FN keys work or not in general?
Is the driver for the touchpad that is installed or not?

In my opinion, you must visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and install driver touchpad and additional package from Toshiba. After making this check please if FN + F9 works. If this isn't the case, you should be able to disable touchpad in the mouse properties. After installation of the Synaptics driver new additional tab will be added to the device settings, and you will find option toggle.

  • Tecra M9 Win7 x 64 driver required to disable the touchpad

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 x 64 on my Toshiba Tecra and everything works great so far. But I have trouble with my touchpad.

The touchpad works, the problem is, I want to put out of service. I only work with the stick and the touchpad causes an arrow of jumping mouse; with the tap function to click very often large sections of text are deleted.

Under Vista 32, I was able to disable the touchpad. Und Win 7 that I miss this feature. I tried several things; e.g. installation of drivers more portable Toshiba or from synaptics page or, Alternatively, drivers for keyboards-Alps. But nothing works.

The laptop is a Tecra M9 PTMB0E; the PCI ID of the touchpad is PNP0F13

    Thank you

    Hello

The Alps Electric to another Toshiba laptop touchpad driver should work because the touchpad is the same.
So Don t understand why you are not able to install the driver for the touchpad.

Usually the touchpad can be disabled using FN + F9 function.
To get the functionality of the FN button that you need to install VAP and Flash memory card Support utility. I chose two other series of satellites (L500) applications.

    Try this.

  • Try to disable the touchpad on my Satellite M115

When I try to disable the touchpad on my M115 and go to Device Manager and click on the mouse, a screen will appear that says: "cannot connect to the Points of Synaptics driver.

What's going on and how do I disable the touchpad?

    Hello

You do not need to disable the touchpad in Device Manager.
Either you use the combination of keys FN Fn + F9 to turn off the touchpad or you will do this in Control Panel.

You can find the option in the control panel-> mouse-> last tab (device settings)
It you should check the options such as properties or settings I'm not quite sure how it would be called in your case m
