I managed to do my monitor outside my main monitor, but it says no signal and the screen of my laptop is black. Help, please

Hello someone,.

I wanted to connect my laptop to my TV to use it as a secondary monitor. Me being me, I somehow changed settings so that when I plug in my TV, my laptop screen goes black and my TV screen turns blue with no signal. Is it possible to restore the settings when I have it plugged first and it worked?
Thanks for any help :)

Hi johnrodden,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

I'm sorry to hear that you have a problem with the external monitor.

1 turn off your computer and unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

2. connect the appropriate video cable from the video port on your computer to your TV.

3. turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the video port connected to your computer. You may need to refer to your TV user guide for instructions on how to do it.

4 turn on your computer.

You should see windows displayed on your TV.

If you do not see an option named multiple displays in your display settings, then Windows isn't detecting a second monitor plugged into computer. Or else, it does not detect an external monitor plugged into your laptop. When Windows detects this monitor, it will appear in the drop-down list next to the screen. If you do not see that what listed there, try click on Detect.

Make sure that the monitor you want to extend your desktop is turned on and plugged on the video appropriate port on your computer. You may also need to select the correct source labeled on the controls of your monitor to ensure that the monitor is using the correct video port. For more information, consult the manual of your monitor or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

Please set up multiple monitors once more, referring to this article:

  • the screen of my laptop is broken and it does not start with a monitor

Hi all hope someone can help me here.

I have a laptop with a broken screen I get the start to the high view until happens start in SafeMode with networking etc. or start normally everything is ok it doesn't matter if I click Start in safe mode or normally happen at a screen black flashing several times all first please can someone help I just want to check that everything is ok before we get a new screen for this laptop.

However I was going to find the computer and I put in my windows ultimate cd and all the colors and options came, but he told me that I had to wipe the computer first wil a right recovery cd so if I don't!

    Hello

    ·          The question started after the screen was broken?

Step 1: I suggest you to connect an external monitor and see if the problem still occurs.

Step 2: Disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse) and then start.

  • Multiple display (cloned monitor) and THE screen is pink.

I'll try to clone my desktop on another monitor and my normal computer screen is the right color but the other monitor is ROSE!

I checked the connection, and it is secure, ideas please?

    Appreciated :)

Take your monitor to another computer and borrow the monitor from that computer to put on your.  That should quickly indicate if the monitor is bad or if there is a computer problem.  If you have two monitors are trying to exchange the first to the second and vice versa.

    * Which video output from the video card port video on the port monitor do you use? Output Mini DisplayPort Display port in
    * What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor? Adapter DisplayPort to MiniDispayPort - we came with every Dell monitor
    * You use the Dell supplied cable? Yes - two monitors

    * Press the Menu button of the monitor to open the OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of the screen should display a resolution. This resolution should match the resolution of the default monitor. The two monitors: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz

    * Brief description of the problem monitor? Monitors have been implemented following the instructions on page 25 of the Dell online manual to connect the monitor to function DP multi-flow (MST). DisplayPort cable is connected to V3900 output MiniDisplay port DisplayPort graphics card in the 1st U2414H; second DisplayPort cable is connected to the DisplayPort on 1 U2414H monitor output and MiniDisplayPort in the 2nd monitor U2414H. Dell U2414H drivers have been installed from the CD provided and both recognized by Windows. V3900 graphics card Driver is up to date with the EyeInfinity software. Source of input on both monitors the Mini Display Port value. Display settings on both monitors Display Port 1.2 value activate. Resolution of the screen on Windows 7 shows: (a) two separate Dell U2414H (mini Display Port) screens, with each resolution 1920 x 1080, multi (b) displays the value "to extend these displays. The two views work with Setup leading up to and acknowledged by the graphics card.

Problem 1 - all the time - monitor power buttons are lit, the computer is turned on, then monitors lights don't - they show 'Power save mode' and then turns off. To hit the power button on the computer to shut down Windows. Only way to get these on monitors is unplug cords from the back of each monitor, wait a few minutes, plug in the power cord, start computer and then both monitors will start up and sign of windows to the screen will appear and monitors will work. Normal operations for a full day of work if you do not restart. If you need to restart during the day (like when you get a software update), the same thing happens. Start the computer to restart, but the monitors come back on not and remain dark. There is nothing wrong with the graphics card V3900. He is certified by AMD and DisplayPort.org to work in an environment of STD DisplayPort 1.2. I had previously two 215tws Samsung SyncMasters connected to each output V3900 Grahics card and they work very well in extended mode for years until a SyncMaster 215tw started shaking like crazy. A SyncMaster has been connected to the out display with a dongle and a DVI cable Port. The other SyncMaster was connected to the DVI output on the graphics card. So I decided to buy these two U2414Hs. Technical support Dell after many phone calls and e-mails finally advised me that there is a problem of "compatibility" between my computer and the U2414Hs and recommended that I return the monitors. On the web site of the U2414H AMD has not been certified by AMD to work in a DisplayPort 1.2 STD Set Up. Other former Dell monitors are certified by AMD to work in the Display Port 1.2 Setup. DisplayPort.org lists the U2414H to work with Display Port (it does not say that it will work in a DisplayPort 1.2 Set Up).

Problem 2 - shift perceptible in the entrance of Microsoft Blue Tooth keyboard and mouse and PS2 Keyboard and mouse. All the drivers are up to date. When you type a phrase, it takes a few moments for the text displayed on the screen using a keyboard. Both the mouse connected and the Bluetooth mouse are unresponsive sporadically for a few moments until they finally react. It happens regularly during the day. The monitors provide excellent clarity when you work. The stand is ideal for office property. Before these monitors are returned if no one knows what causes these two problems and does anyone have a solution? Should I stop using the Display Port 1.2 and hang them using HDMI with active dongles? If I have to return these two U2414Hs, I considered the 2 two U2413s. Someone at - it all opinions on the last U2413s from Dell? I have read some real problems with ghosting that I just haven't the time for more. The remanence correction in the models of U2413 sold in 2014? There are very few monitors on the market with Display Port in and out to the back to support DisplayPort 1.2 STD Transport.

    Thanks for any input.

I had to remove my VGA HDMI DV card and now the DP (display port) works very well. Don't need to use a HDMI cable. Display Port 1.1 is reported as the problem in order to remove the card solves this problem.

  • Monitor may not turn off after setting the screen turns off after a period of inactivity

Original title: control screen does not turn off

My cell phone 6 year old runs today to Win XP Pro and IE7 and Firefox. My screen has been set to turn off after 15 minutes, but these days he keeps any. It stays ON all day.

Attempted to solve by setting to turn off in 10 minutes, but it makes no difference, what could be the problem?

    TIA

First of all, you don't want to do the hardware updates through the Microsoft Update Website.

Secondly, there are a couple ways you can do this:

    1. go in the Device Manager (start > Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management > Device Manager).    tedious, but this way you are sure.

Double-click each item, having developed each sign, select the driver tab and choose Update driver, let windows search automatically, make sure that you are connected to the internet.  Do this for each item that you want to search for updated drivers.

    2. go in the manufacturer's website. For example, I use a Dell Dimension and move the driver Dell downloads Web site.

If you mean hardware upgrade from Microsoft (not Windows which is software) you would search Microsoft.com site for driver downloads.

Hope this helps, after back with your results, please.

Control/display panel, I got my screen set at 150% and a resolution of 1680 X 1050. It filled my screen 22 inch with the content of the page. Now that I have installed Firefox, the police is too small and the content is centered in the screen leaving about3"each side of the space empty. I want to fill the screen and make things bigger. I have connected a new external monitor to my Sat Pro L300 and the monitor of the station has a strong tinge of yellow to the display.
I have tried with other monitors and cables and they do the same screen that is yellow.

Can anyone suggest what I can do, I tried to change all the color settings, but they don't get rid of the yellow tint.
    Thank you.

Well, maybe this problem is related to the failure of hardware since will have to show common colors without changing the settings in the color settings in the graphics card Control Panel

In my opinion this s hardware problem
However, before I ask a technician for advice I recommend updated the BIOS and reinstall the graphics driver.
