  You don't need to buy anything. If you check in Windows updates, service packs must be put at your disposal. (Unless it's an illegal copy of XP).

  If you installed SP1a, you can ignore the SP2 and go right to SP3. If SP1 is installed, to install the SP2 and SP3.

  Before you install, disable your antivirus and anti-spyware such as Windows Defender programs. If you are using another firewall, disable and enable Windows Firewall in the control panel for the installation. Once a requires SP3 and working, you can activate the third-party firewall and put the Windows Firewall. Do not keep the two running.

  When you use PaperPort 12.0 Standard since January, I suddenly have a prompt to install MSXML 4.0 SP3 PARSER and the HP C309a AIO will not scan starting in PaperPort.

  I checked the Panel, programs and features and found 2 versions of MSXML 4.0 SP3 PARSER. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, and I had no problems until yesterday.

Trying to close takes forever and then goes into the problem installation of updates again! Today, I noticed since the update history page in the Panel that these two updates KB973688 and KB954430 had the 'Fail' status since August 13, 2010. It doesn't seem to be any advice on the Microsoft Web site. What can I do?
