I need to backup my emails so I can replace my hard drive.

I read the response "I NEED TO BACKUP the FILES of mail ELECTRONICS, WHO CAN ALWAYS BE READ LATER". but who was referring to the IMAP and I use pop. I expect that the procedure is the same, but that is the problem. I have a lot of files to attachments. The answer does not expressly say that bindings and / or embedded images will be included with the saved emails. I expect that most people take for granted, but it's the first time I'm trying to back up the files. Several years ago I 'save page as' with a few pages in Firefox and when I opened the once again the pages were nothing like the original. I think the only thing that saved were the links to images that have been on it, and they were no longer on the net. Since then, I've been nervous about back ups and import / export. My hard drive is a failure so I have to replace the drive, reload TB, and bring back the files. If anyone can give me some advice, I would be very happy. Dave

Thanks I didn't loose all attachments, but I saved attachments to files on disk. So I thought that this could be considered an extraction. I am running Spinrite on the disc right now, but I'm going to busy with the links you sent me. Can I mark this resolved and ask a question if something happens? Thanks again, Dave

PS. I am curious about the purpose of the link that keeps TB.

  • Need information on moving emails from Windows Live Mail on USB drive

HI, I want to move or copy my emails stored on a USB connected hard drive. I looked in C:\Users\Les\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage and found my storage folders, but all these folders are empty! In Windows Live Mail itself storage files stored emails! Can someone explain please what the problem may be and tell me how to move or copy these emails to an external USB hard disk?

Check the location of your storage folder by clicking file > options > mail > advanced > maintenance > store folder.

I would like to also right click the folder to see their size.  You can also do this when WLM is not open

  • Help, I need to replace my hard drive in my hp pavilion a6863w how can I do this?

The surface of the hard drive, test and get the test failed, a seagate 2 TB SSHD. I want to install it and I'm sure that I can do, but I need to know if I should leave the wrong disc in and just add this one, if I do this will it take all other cables, if yes, I'd rather just old-fashioned.
I have the recovery install disks that I made when I bought first. I used these b4 to reinstall.

I just need to know the steps if I add the 2nd disc or steps (if I need a cable) to replace the old disk with a new disk. This player would be my boot drive? When I ask for the steps, I'm more concerned about turning off the computer and what is it I have unplugged, etc.. Then once the new drive up, just run the recovery discs or y at - it an easier way?
I tried to run a backup, but he stopped and wouldn't let me. I have all my important things like photo movies already saved etc.

Remove the old drive, replace it with a new one and use the set of recovery disks. Choose factory image recovery.

  • HP TouchSmart 420 - 1000 t CTO: need help with the installation of windows on a new hard drive for HP TouchSmart 420-1000 t CTO (bought in 2012)

My hard drive is failng in my computer I get the message that "the failure of hard drive" is imminent for several months now.  I did just recovery disks after I bought my computer and that you have ordered a new hard drive.

I thought that the part of the setup of windows on a portion of the current hard disk that I need to replace.

I want to just make sure that if I can restore the windows completely and that all programmes provided with the computer are on the recovery discs I want to do it myself - so I need to know I'm doing it correctly!

    Thank you very much.

PS I found this web page below and I want to just make sure that it applies to me:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-420-1000-desktop-PC-series/5146292/model/5155758/d...

This link in the post seems to apply to the situation.  If you have already completed the defined recovery disc then it should just be a matter of running the recovery disc after the new hard drive is installed.  The recovery disk set will be "restoring windows completely and all programs included with the computer".  Be aware that all other items that were installed or personal data will not be restored.  When replacing the hard drive, do not buy a disc exceeds the limit of 2 TB, such as published in the SPECS for TouchSmart 420-1000 t CTO.

The disk is probably not a problem when it comes to Windows 7 is. Problems with installing Windows 7 (material) are more likely to be the motherboard, processor, and memory. Software problems can also come to light.

If your old drive is now just a paperwieght, while the new drive must be of the same type as the original, i.e. SATA or PATA (IDE). I use 'black' all WD SATA disks where I can because of the 5-year warranty, but they cost more. I don't know if there is any PATA WD drives available now, or what the guarantee is if there are.

To install XP, you will need to use all media provided by Dell for this purpose, or contact Dell for replacements.

Without having to install XP to download and run the Windows 7/8 upgrade advisor you will need to allow hardware and software research yourself.

    Hello

This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.

I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.

It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.

    Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

  • Need to replace my hard drive, no response from hp in 5 days

    Hello

I bought a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15b146ef in France a few months (still under warranty) and my hard drive now dead. I ran a test drive hard short check DST failed with following failure ID: 60D5XV-6MQ6TA-MFPWW1-60QX03. It is an error 303, which means that I have no choice but to replace my HARD drive. The problem is that I'm in Sweden for my studies and no HP is able to help me (in France and Sweden).
What can I do? Does anyone have a direct contact by email that I could use to talk with the assistance of HP Sweden?

Thanks for reading and responding if possible

I can't reach the HP Sweden Helpdesk (I tried 5 long days). Do you have any contact? Sorry but NO, I have no information other than what is publicly available contact.

And I don't have any driver CD/DVD on my computer, how can I do without having to buy an external CD/DVD drive? On today's computers, a 32 GB USB Flash Drive can replace the recovery disks. If the computer can start again and the recovery partition is not damaged, you may be able to create a recovery USB Flash drive.

  • Backup and restore does not recognize my external HARD drive.

When I try to use the ms backup and restore it only recogniza my external HARD drive.

Is that possible reinstall or repair?

    Hello daniloalvesmaciel,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

First of all, I could check and see if the hard drive is listed on the Windows 7 Compatibility Center. Clickhere for a link to the Compatibility Center. If it's on the Compatibility Center, then check out the web site of the manufacturer for updates or drivers.

Then check if you see the external hard drive in the Device Manager.
    To check these options:

    1. click on the Start button to display the Start Menu , then selectControl Panel .
    2. the Control Panel window opens.
Now click system and security from this window.
    3 Scrollfor Device Manager.
    4. click on the Device Manager.
    5. to view material click on any category and the associated list of installed hardware. For example. Click on hard drives.
Right click on the external hard drive. You can see the different options likeUpdate driver software, disable, uninstall and properties etc.
    6. click on Properties to display the details of the hardware. Click theDriver tab , to view the details of device driver.
    7. then on the software update driver to check and see if you have the latest drivers.

Then check again and see if you can save on the external hard drive.

If this is not the case, try to map a drive to the external drive. Can you back up now.

Please respond and take stock of your problem.

You use Windows Live Mail?  If so, it seems that you have enabled the
    option of aggregates by "Conversation".
On the view tab, click Conversations, Off.

To save a message to your hard drive, click the icon without label to the left
of the House, then save, save as a file.

  • I need to replace my hard drive in my Samsung laptop, I have windows 7

I need to replace my hard drive in my Samsung laptop, I have windows 7. I want to reinstall it on the new hard drive running on linux but on install windows 7 on a virtual hard drive, how can I transfer the activation code

    In other words, you can't.

Assuming that your edition of Windows 7 is the one that supports the transfer of a virtual machine (i.e. the upscale home and more)...

You will need to do a clean install of the virtual machine, using the retail media and the key of the COA sticker.

You may need to activate by phone.

Note that Samsung have historically refused to provide any form of media except through a factory install. This means that it is almost impossible to install the original media for anything except the original disk, using the recovery partition.

I replaced my hard drive and format my computer before turning off the software PS.  It need my code series now, but I had lost.

How can I solve the problem and use the software again?

If you use a perpetual Photoshop and formatted your disc version of starting without disabling your activation of Photoshop, you also Adobe supports help you activate Photoshop once you retrieve your serial number.  The startup disk formatting would destroy that credential of Activation Photoshop machine which is registered in the database of the Adobe activation server. Which reduces the activation numbers you have to use.  If you have Photoshop installed on a second computer that means that you have no free activation available as well, even with your key you can't activated the machine.
