I need to remove a folder and I don't have permission to.
I can't delete a folder and I'm the owner and he said that I have complete control over it. I want to be like it was when I had xp my user account. I want to have automaticly permition to do most things. How can I get permition on all folders?
Hi Duckycrayfish,
The folder in which you are trying to delete?
Was there error message arrived to the top when you try to delete it? If so, what is it?
In some cases, you might be the owner of the record high level, but in the sub-sub-sub-folders/files, authorization is not inherit to sub-sub-sub-folders/files, so it may not allow you to delete the entire folder. Don't forget to check the box for allow permissions inheritance for subfolders and files.

Cannot be saved in my folder
When I came to my computer, I had no problem recording on any folder of the user. Then, recently, my hard drive was a
malfunction and I lost all my data and I have OS Win7 reloaded. Now I can't save anything to
any folder of the user. I get a message that I don't have permission and admin contact (which is me).
I would like to know how do I configure admin so I can save anything in folders.
This feature for you telling the truth is a real pain. It's a family computer then why is it necessary?
Some help would be appreciated. »

- Click on the globe to start, type three letters cmd and press ENTER.
- Type the following commands EXACTLY as they are and press ENTER after each one:
MD C:\Logs
Set Log=C:\Logs\Log.txt
NET user "user %%nom" > Log %
the value > Log %
Copy Journal % c:\Users\Bob 1% > Log % 2 > & 1
cacls c:\Users\Bob > Log %
Notepad % log - Mark, copy and paste the text into your response.

BOOTMGR is compressed and I don't have the cd
My bootmgr is compressed and I don't have the cd
As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system. Making effective diagnosis difficult.
You do not have a CD - Microsoft support engineers seem to think that everything requires a XP CD and this is not the case.
Are you sure that you are running Windows XP (you are in XP forums).
How do you that compressed the bootmgr file obtained in the first place?
Provide information on your system, the better you can:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Your system have IDE or SATA disks?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?
What you see you don't think you need to see?
What do not you think that you should see?
If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Original title: shared folder
try to share files and folders between my laptop and my pc... When I try to access partitions shared between them = I got this msg: "you don't have permission to access the file or folder you are trying to access. Contact your network administrator to request access"can u help?
Hello
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Make this file and printer sharing is enabled, computers.
Follow the steps listed in the link below to check the parameters and the essential elements to share files over the network:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/file-sharing-essentialsAlso check if network discovery is enabled, the computer. Steps to follow:
i. click on Start, click on Control Panel.
II. Select network and sharing Center
III. Select change advanced sharing settings
(IV) in respect of network discovery, select Enable network discovery
Step 2: check the sharing permission on the shared folder.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/share-files-with-someoneStep 3: you can also try to disable your firewall program and security and then try to access to the shared folder. Make sure that you activate it if this step does not help.
Note: Antivirus/Firewall software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks. In addition, see these articles:

Original title: cannot access files on a folder on the drive hard usb after you have turned off sharing on a network.
About a week and a half, I have set up my external hard drive usb to share on my network domestic as well as my brother could access some files on his laptop computer. I've been playing with the security of some of the files on the hard drive and made sure that he could not access some of them. I don't remember exactly what I did unfortunately. After I had changed the security access, I was still able to access all files and my brother could not access it. He got the files on the hard drive and I turned off my computer. A few days later, I tried to access the files that I had limited and I was stuck. When I went back in the drive to recover some files, I received an error "you don't have permission to access this folder. Click on continue to have access to this folder permanently. "When I click on continue that another dialogue box comes up saying"you refused permission to access this folder. To access this file you will need to use the Security tab. "I click on the link to Security tab and another dialog box appears asking"to continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties. Do you want to continue? "I'm obviously the administrator because I have this computer and I'm the only account on it. From this point, I don't know what I do or what I'm supposed to do to recover my files. I played a bit with a couple of things and I was able to get into certain folders, but its an extremely long process that I don't have the time for. A side effect of which in fact so I can see the files, is that for any movie file, I try to access it, I get an error. When I try to open it with Windows Media Player, I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file may be in use (which is not the case), you won't have access to the computer where the file is stored (which is not supposed to because the computer on which it is stored my personal computer), or your proxy settings are may not be not correct (what?). "If I try to use another program like VLC media player, I get a similar problem where an error comes up saying that it was impossible to access the file. I can see the file and see the properties but I am unable to actually see the film. I can't move the file anywhere because I don't have administrative rights. I'm under Windows 7 Ultimate, and if someone could help me please, that would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Ridley,
I see that this problem is old enough but you (or others) may have problems with it. Here's what I did:-Got to your hard drive and right click on the folder that is causing all the trouble.-Click on properties.-Click on the Security tab-Then click on advanced-You will see a window with a few user names. Now click on owner in the tabs above.-Click on edit, then select the user name you want to open the folder and don't forget to tick the box that says "Replace the owner of subcontainers and objects", then click on apply.A pop will come which says something like "You have replaced the property for the selected records" or something in this way. It worked for me and I hope this post is helpful for some people.Nina -
I have my 5 factory reset iPhone, now I can't set up my iPhone because it must be enabled, and I don't have a sim card to make. Is there a way I can install and use my iPhone without needing to be activated? Can someone help me please?
To skip the activation of sim card, you can use iTunes if you have a CDMA iPhone. However, if you have a GSM model you will need to insert a sim card to activate your iPhone (it can even be used/inactive). Here is an article that will help you determine if your iPhone is GSM or CDMA: http://osxdaily.com/2012/11/15/determine-iphone-gsm-or-cdma/

I have a blue screen I can't start and I don't have a boot disk I can't start in safe or any type of mode
ccorr,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum. You will need to provide additional information. What version of Windows and service pack level are you?
Do you get any error messages?
If something has changed on your system prior to this issue (hardware or software)?
What "Startup disk" do you have? It is the manufacturer of PC?Here are a few things to try:
The first thing to do is to boot your system and start pressing F8 as soon as it starts booting. You will get the Windows startup options screen. Select "Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure" and let it restart. When it starts, it can now stop with an error screen and give an error message and code.Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB Hub, drives external, etc.) and try to start.
Post back with the error information and results. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

I have reset my laptop and I don't have the set up cd, I have the license key for vista ultimate can I download
Hello
"I reset my laptop."
What do you mean by that?
There are several methods to reinstall Vista.
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:
How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.
Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.
If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html
See you soon.
