• Laptop HP keyboard and mouse pad display disabled in Vista

  The keyboard and the mouse pad on my HP laptop are no longer works. I have to use a USB keyboard and mouse that work very well. I can use the keboard bring my laptop out of fashion 'sleep', but that's all it will do. It will not type and capslock will not activate.

  In the Device Manager, this error appears in the device monitors the keyboard and mouse.

  Check with HP, their documentation online support and their forum as these could be
  disabled by methods are not not in Manager device and/or defective.

• Touch pad is disabled when you type?

  The clickpad/touchpad on my VAIO laptop turns off when I type. I would like to avoid this.
  Sony support said that there should be a setting in the control panel of VAIO, but I can't.
  The touchpad uses the Synaptics drivers. I read on other sites that the problem may be caused by Palmcheck/Touchcheck, but my Synaptics driver does not seem to include people.
  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Access the BIOS and enable the option called Illumination.
  Save changes in BIOS and start again.

  Usually the lighting should be again.

• Font size changing

  When I'm in the email and typing along, the displayed font size will change as I type.  It will get really big or very small and the acts that he has a mind of its own.  Only happens when I type emails and arrives in Yahoo and Gmail.

  This is a new laptop with a problem of the box release, it came with Vista Business installed, but I drove it back to XP Professional (that's a story in itself).   Hello, I had the same surprise when I started my new N500 yesterday!

  It seems that the mouse pad is disable by default or a touch sensor on/off switch (next to the power supply Jack).

  I have checked the manual and just turned on.

  Above the keyboard, the right side there are 4 sensors (volume up down off the coast and carpets to mouse power switch).

  If theres a blue light under the bad mouse, it soul he is off

  Hi, I own a Toshiba Qosmio laptop.

  I installed an update to Adobe Photoshop and restarted the computer.

  I can't get to the start screen with the date and where would normally click on the screen taking me to my password screen.

  I have no cursor on my screen to click with, my keyboard lights up when I press it.

  I tried pressing F5, I tried removing the battery and restart the computer then only plugged, all of the suggestions I found on this forum. Thank you for your participation :)

  At the moment that I can't get into windows, all I could do is power up and down, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  1. What is the model number of your laptop?

  This problem may occur if "Mouse pads" is disabled or after installation updated there is a few changes to the material. I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Method 1: Activation of mouse pad;

  1. Turn on your computer.
  2. On the screen where you see "Date and time", press the Fn + F5 keys and check if the pointer of the mouse works.

  Note: If the problem persists, proceed with method 2.

  Method 2: how to restore your PC ;

  Warning: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  Note: If the mouse pointer does not work in the anticipated Startup Option, use Tab and the arrow keys to navigate/toggle between options.

  1. Turn on your computer.
  2. On the screen where you see the Date and time, press on Enter.
  3. Use the Tab key to toggle and highlight of power option and press ENTER.
  4. Use the up button to select the option "restart".
  5. Once the "Restart" option is set in highlight, press and hold 'Shift' of the keyboard and press on Enter.
  6. Once you press enter, your computer will restart.
  7. After reboot, you will be the screen, you have to Select options.
  8. On the options of the screen, use the down arrow key to select Troubleshooting option and press enter.
  9. Under Troubleshooting, select advance Options using the down arrow key and press on Enter.
  10. Under Options in advance, highlight the system restore, using the down arrow key and press on Enter.
  11. Once you press enter, your computer will restart automatically.
  12. If you have multiple accounts on your computer, your right account select and press on Enter.
  13. On the next screen Next option will be selected by default, press enter to continue.
  14. Press the down arrow key to select the Date and time and press on Enter.
  15. On the last screen, press Enterto start System Restore.

  Important: Follow the steps above with precision as shown to do a System Restore.

  Go to BIOS and check the option called illumination.
  This must be enabled.
  If it, s enabled in the BIOS, then set the BIOS to the default settings, toggle the option (enabled/disabled) lighting and save changes.
  Restart the unit.

  Force quit safari by double clicking the home button and then tap the preview for safari off the screen

After that I rinsed the partitions and reinstalled windows my keyboard and touch pad disable when I flip the screen back.   I noticed that it seems to have to go further than before after resettlement. Still, it turns off when completely closed, but use it as a portable reverse as it seems hit or miss if it disabled for me as well. about 180 seems like it should be the point to turn it off, but it weel as it does not disable consistantly until a little past at least 270.

  I just had to format and reinstall WIndows 7 home, the recovery Partition provided.

  It was a nice, pain free procedure, except that my Touch Pad disable any more.

  I looked at most of the places I can think of and can't find any reference to it.

  He could have a feature that was not in the pilot that you are running. You can remove this driver and reinstall the original driver that came with your computer by following the instructions provided below:

  Step 1. Click Start

  Step 2. Click on Control Panel

  Step 3. Click on Device Manager

  Step 4. Click on mouse and other pointing devices

  Step 5. Right-click on your mouse driver and select uninstall

  Step 6. Download and review the HP support document: use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7). To reinstall the drivers of your Trackpad originally shipped with your computer.

  Check with support of the manufacturer system, documentation online or forums that there is probably
  Shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

  Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad entered)
  and some come with a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

  If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

  Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
  Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
  on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

  Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

  This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad from working.

  The similar procedure on XP, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.

  Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

  Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

  You will need to enable the touchpad on the laptop itself.

  Find the area of the touch pad, you will find a button to enable or disable the touchpad.

  If the step above doesn't, try this step.

  Go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab
  Click (or to disable)

  

  Notes:
  On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. For example, ACER, just do Fn + F7.
  You can click on Reset device if none of these solutions work.

  If you still can't touch pad to work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.
