Just to let you know, you communicate directly with Apple here. It is a community of users to sense volunteers respond to discussions so nobody here can credit your account.

Aside from that, it is unlikely that Apple will reverse charges for the purchase of Quicken, because you could buy it for less on another site, but at least you try.

I own CS 5 Design Premium. Read the FAQ, it seems, I am eligible to proceed to 6 CS but I can't find the upgrade to purchase and download. I can't upgrade to CC because $49 per month, it's too much for me - do not use this product for the job. The offer of $29 seems reasonable but $49 is too much. I don't need most of the programs included in the CC, but subscribing to only three of them will cost much more. Really don't know what to do here :-(

I believe that the offer of $29 is only for the first year, so you would end up paying $ 49 thereafter.

  • The program in XP ' Add/Remove Programs' too much for Agere Systems HDA Modem - 6.4 GB size program!

Add/Remove program on laptop HP515 reported the size of the Agere Systems HDA Modem as being program
3,582.00 MB (3.5 GB) you want to assume this is a mistake, because the driver was last updated was 2006 and Agere was acquired by LSI. However - this computer he'd have removed the ThinkPoint (via AVG2011 anti-virus) virus with
no trace, if the elements of the manual removal in the registry, so AVG you all this?

So I tried to remove the program, which needs software modem dialup? and disable it in Device Manager

After having removed via Add/Remove programs when you restart it himself reinstalled w / no prompts
After uninstalling the Manager of devices, same thing except that now it says the size of the program is 6 437,00 Mo!

Will be not deleted or disabled after reboot. Next step is to open up the laptop and see if the modem can itself be without shearing of the Board of Directors, if that will not trigger the re - install software
Can find no other reference to this problem anywhere, hope it's just a will and
the GB are not counted against the count of HD space.

On another laptop running Vista home the same modem is shown no program size, just empty.

There are a TON of malware which is legit software.  No way to list them here.  All we can do is get anti-virus software AND software to search for malware (in some cases, you may two or three different types of software.)  I myself use AVAST, MalwareBytes and Spybot and AdAware. --

    Hello korgri,

It seems that you still have a problem with remmants of the virus that you had deleted. I'll try again with other anti-virus or scanning software to see if there is still a problem.
You must disable AVG before using a 2nd antivirus. You can download Microsoft Security Essentials. Clickhere for a link to the Microsoft Antivirus.

I also suggest an Inplace upgrade which will help you to repair your operating system. You will need a CD/DVD of the XP operating system.
Click on the KB article number below to view the instructions for an Inplace upgrade.

After the upgrade on the spot, your personal data and installed programs will not be deleted, but we will have to run Windows Update to install all the updates that are available for your system to update these files system to the current version. This troubleshooting process is very long and can last several hours.

  • Controlled by the directional pointer--too much for a noob user?

Customer wants an image that can be rotated to mouse of the user, for example, click on a point on the screen around him and the image rotates at this angle, and this angle (in degrees) to appear.

My question is, a Flash noob can learn to do in a week or two, or should we outsource to?

    > Is there a way to run from the center of the object?

Edit the clip and move it so that the alignment point is centered, instead of top-left. In other words, if the image is 50 x 50, it would be to-25,-25 instead of 0.0

    William,
This article gives details, but the short of it is that you will need to install XP to clean.

  • Firefox takes too much HDD

Hi, I have installed portable firefox 23.0.1 to q: partition and the partition of 1 GB. Firefox takes 653 MB of available space and it's too much for me, someone knows how to "clean" firefox so my drive is no longer incomplete? I think that firefox should be 70 MB and not 700.

Hello, yes you are right - it's unusual, portable firefox versions should be more in the order of 70MB. You can use a tool like www.jgoodies.com/freeware/jdiskreport/ to inspect what is too exactly the place and report it here in the forum? Thank you

  • When I open a tab/icon on my computer is much too large for my screen and I can't use my computer; 3 boxes in the upper right corner.

When I open a tab/icon on my computer is much too large for my screen and I can't use my computer; 3 boxes at the top right corner with the-, square and X are too far to the right to do anything. How can I fit on my screen, so I can use my computer?

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

This problem is limited to any icon or it happens with all?

Did you change to the computer?

I suggest to refer to the following methods and check to see if it helps:

    Method 1:

Install the latest display driver and check

Uninstall the driver from Device Manager display.

    a. close all programs. This will ensure that the programs do not interfere with the update of the driver.
    b. right-click on my computer, and then click Properties. This will bring you from the System Properties menu.

    c. click Device Manager
    d. expand the display column of cards by clicking on them. This will show the graphical current map that is using your computer.
    e. right click on the adapter, then select Properties.
    f. click on the driver tab. This tab displays information about the current driver, as well as options to update, delete, uninstall, and back the driver.
    g. click on uninstall
    h. restart the computer

You can install the latest display driver for download on the site of computer manufacturing, same driver will reinstall automatically after the restart, if the computer is connected to the Internet.

    Method 2:

I suggest you try the system restore. Restore the system to a restore point when your computer was working fine

You can also check the Device Manager to see if the video card has a yellow exclamation on it with an error any:

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

and change how to get updates for you to choose what you install to stop it happening again

You may need to install one at a time to find the problem, we

Make sure that you do not use Windows Update to install the drivers of 3rd material part

Find them directly in the hardware manufacturer

and when you see the problem update right click on it - UAC prompt - then hide it

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

I got a phone call from someone who said they were from microsoft and my computer was in danger, unless I paid 130 pounds for a new warranty, is it a scam?

    Hi Debra,

It's a SCAM! Microsoft does not make that neither have they partners that do and don't they hire contractors or individuals or even to find volunteers to do. There are probably thousands of these companies out there do every day - we get two or three posts like this (or more) each day ask about it. You are lucky who have recognized the scam enough not to be sucked in and eventually identify theft, infections, hacking your computer, convince you to buy software or services you either did not need or that do not really exist at all and all sorts of nefarious stuff. You'd be surprised how much contact us AFTER THAT that they realized they had been duped asking what to do. Don't waste time talking to these people, not give them any personal information it is, don't be fooled by what they can get allows you to see on the computer - in fact, not do anything they suggest on your computer or even to visit Web sites they recommend and for the love of God don't give them access to your computer.

Microsoft knows this is happening, but with these companies popping up like dandelions, or closing and changing names when discovered and operating mainly from abroad, it would take an army of lawyers to sue each other. They do the best they can, but they are just too many and more added every day. People need to pay attention to these things. They occur not only by telephone, but also by e-mail, instant messaging, mail and all the ways imaginable. Forget not that Microsoft doesn't this and hang up or remove the emails or messages or mail from someone claiming that they do because they know the information on your computer or that you want to get information from you to confirm your account so that it will not be closed and asking you your name of user and password and all sorts of other personal information. Microsoft DO NOT!

See below for additional information on this topic and what to do and how Microsoft works:

I'm glad you don't get captured by these crooks and save yourself a big headache. Continue to use the same caution and you should do fine.

    Good luck and best wishes!

  • By the last updated 21/07/2015, where is the + in the message pane? The message pane takes up too much real estate.

I like the very compact message pane. In the last updated 21/07/2015, the '+' disappeared and the message pane takes too much space. I'm willing to change Thunderbird mail readers.

Please put ultra compact/a '+' back a.s.a.p. I tried ALL the tools and Menus for this already.

The + and - are from an add on which you installed to sometimes called Compact Headers. That add needs to be updated to work with the new version of Thunderbird.
Go to add it on the page and are looking for Compact headers. There is a new version that works with versions of Thunderbird 37 to 40.
