I put the folder from the HARD drive to another HARD drive?

Hello

on my laptop, I have 2 hard drives, the first is vista C:, the second is DATA E:, if I click on DATA E: there is a folder called HDDRecovery and R10061EN.tag
The HDDrecovery folder is a lot of files and folders, one of them is readme and readme in the file is this warning

Folder of HARD disk recovery

Caveat!

Do not remove or edit these files and folders.
Any change can damage the HARD drive recovery system!

So I ask myself, can I put files in E: DATA with the HDDRecovery folder and the R10061EN.tag file?

C: Vista has only exempt from 74.3 GB 21 GB and DATA E: has 67.9 GB free of 73.2 Go so can put files in DATA E:?

Of course, you can record what you want on E: but do not remove or change the folder of SD recovery.

In your case I would first create the recovery discs if you didn t do it. Do not delete something on before E:. Then you can do what you want because you have the discs.

  • put the HARD drive in the optical drive stock

    Hi all

I'm sorry if this is redundant, but I couldn't find the answer to any where or through telephone Support from Lenovo.

I received the W530 with stock 500 GB HARD drive, but I want to replace it with the Pro of 840 Samsung SSD and put the HARD drive in the optical drive. I just restore the image from HARD disc for my SSD orginal (now in the original HARD drive box).

At first I thought that I just leave the HARD drive in the original Bay and use the optical drive for the SSD, but since I use the SSD for the OS, and I want to use the DVD player sometimes, I thought I should put the SSD in original HDD bay and the HARD disk in the optical drive.

I'm sure I've read that a lot of people did it with success, but I do not know much about computers and have never done nothing wise hardwear. I tried to put the HARD drive in the caddy Newmode U.S. optical drive, but it wouldn't fit (the screw on the caddy heads are too big). I think it's because the HARD drive still has the metal casing on it. I am worried, however, that if I remove the caddy, it voids my warranty, and above all, I am wanting to make sure it is the correct and safe way to the stock HARD drive in the optical drive.

I put the rails HARD original on the SSD drive rubber because it is in which Bay but you have no other rails to the HARD drive in the case of the optical drive, and I don't even think he would fit in.

So, it's OK to remove the carriage on the stock of HARD drive and put it in the optical drive without any kind of rails or protection (but attach it to the optical drive with the supplied screws caddy)? I think that's what I have to do anyway with the SSd, if she had to go into the optical drive.

I am also an upgrade of RAM, but the keyboard under the bottom access RAM screw is stripped, so I can't remove the original RAM (it is under keyboard) and use the optimal 0 and DIMM slot installation 1. Any ideas?

Thanks for your time, and once again, sorry if this is very basic.

Change hard drives and memory do not void the warranty.

The DSS must be installed exactly as the original HARD drive was, with rails caddy and rubber.

The HARD drive in DVD case must be inserted with the 4 screws with the caddy, nothing else.

To remove the stripped screw, you must use the small (jeweller preference) needle clamp with extreme caution, or slowly drop the screw head to create a new location. The second option is more dangerous because it produces small deposits of metal. If you can't do it yourself, ajeweller could do this easily for you.

    Good luck!

    Hello

If you try to boot from the hard disk on which windows was installed by using another computer and then, you will not be able to boot from it. You can try to perform a Windows XP repair install and check.

    Hello

I agree with Akuma. You must take the HARD disk at 5400 RPM. It should be pretty fast and produces less heat. It is good for office and multimedia applications.

I hope you enjoy with your new HARD drive. ;)

  • Satellite 1900-303: can I put the hard drive 120 GB

I have a S1900-303 and I think to raise the 120 GB hard drive. What are the problems, if any, are that I meet and I can do froom the Toshiba startup disk or do I just install XP from a XP disc?

    Hello

That I myself remember Satellite 1900-303 has been delivered with the 30 GB HARD drive.
So, in my opinion, 120 GB HARD drive size is too big and I presume that the BIOS of the laptop will not recognize the HARD drive!

I think you can use a 40 GB, 60 GB and a 80 GB HARD disk.

PS: you must search the HARD disk with the IDE (ATA-5) increased!

Good luck and have a nice day

  • Can Tecra M9 - I put the HARD drive?

    I currently own a * Tecra M9 - 15I * (part PTM91E-04R03TEN No. - discontinued model).

When I bought the laptop, it came with a 120 GB HARD drive. I am running Windows Vista Business which fills almost half of the hard drive. I want to upgrade the HARD drive because I think the upgrade to Windows 7.

Is it possible to upgrade the HARD disk? If so, what are the compatible HARD drive options? If I do not change the HARD drive, this will affect the status of the guarantee of the laptop? for example, I currently have a 3 year warranty and the warranty upgrade HARD drive Toshiba?

    Hello!

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive on your laptop and this doesn t affect the warranty. HDD upgrade isn't complicated and so it can be done by the user.

To swap the HARD drive, you need only remove the screws to the HARD drive Bay and remove the HARD disk cover. Then you can see the HARD drive and swap it.
I don t know you, look in your user manual. You will find interesting information and photos on this topic.

Theoretically, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.
I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

  • Can satellite M70-337 - I put the HARD drive?

    Hi all,.

I have a Satellite M70-337, the vehicle currently has 40 GB of hard drive. The laptop has served me well and I want to upgrade the hard drive 100 GB +, anyone has done this?

If Yes please advise on the type of hard drive required and their availability. I have 2 GB of RAM and want to run Windows 7 on this computer.

    Hey mate,

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive why not? :)

AFAIK Equium M70 already use hard drives with Serial ATA interface. This means that you must buy a 2.5 HARD drive with this interface.
For example, a 120 GB model should work!

In my view, it is irrelevant, what type (manufacturing) that you choose. There is no major differences, but I have good experiences with Western Digital.

  • Can satellite A100 - I put the HARD drive with 7200 RPM model?

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-044, I would spend my the 120 GB HARD drive to a more large (250 GB or 320 GB).

A 7200 RPM would work on this subject? It seems Web compatibility sites they show 5400 RPM more, I would like to set up my laptop for recording/mastering so music wants a fast machine, I don't really mind if it consumes more energy...

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you
    Stone

    Hello!

Of course, you can swap the HARD drive with a model more fast using 7200 RPM. But as you say, it takes a little more energy. The new HARD drive should be a little faster, especially access time should be lower.

250 GB or 320 GB should be possible; you need a HARD drive with SATA interface.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

I have read the terms of this adapter and it does support Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP. Maybe that's the reason why there is no driver for Windows 7. However, you can try running the Windows XP compatibility mode. Right-click on the file and go to properties.

On the Linksys website, looks like the firmware is no longer available for download. There are rules that govern the use the firmwares or drivers, so sometimes the manufacturer of removes the firmware of older devices to their Web site.

  • What is the best way to copy all the files from one hard drive to another?

Old disk 60Go new 320 GB drive.  I want to do the new replacement for the old disk drive.

Old disk 60Go new 320 GB drive.  I want to do the new replacement for the old disk drive.

    Use disk cloning software.

The safest way is to use an external hard drive enclosure to maintain the new disc during the cloning operation.  These come with interfaces USB or e-SATA to IDE or SATA interfaces for the drive and the computer.  Be sure to get the correct type.  If you have an available internal drive Bay, you can put the new drive it for the cloning operation, but do NOT restart with two connected drives.  After everything was settled down, you can mount the old disk of 60 GB inside, format and use it for storage of backup.

Cloning (copy to disc) software may have been bundled with your new drive or may be accessed free of charge from the manufacturer of the new command.

Otherwise, here are a few apps cloning that I have used myself or have been recommended by members of the community:

    Acronis True Image Home
    Casper
    Paragon Drive Copy
    EASEUS Partition Master

    Hi DenSys,

    > Any ideas what I can do about it?
In my opinion, the case is clear: either this new HARD drive is defective or it s is not compatible to your laptop. But if everything works with the old HDD, you contact the new 160 GB back

Your laptop has an IDE interface for HARD drive? If so don t forget that it will be able to manage the hard disks up to 128 GB only due limitation LBA 28 bits. In order to check another model.
