I think I got the blaster worm...

This message continues to appear and said "this system shuts down. Please save all work in progress and log off. A changed unsaved will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by SANFTEST02\administtrator (then I get about 50 minutes before his arrest) (apparently it on my pc for a long while now..;) (sucks how I just figured this out now :()

I get this message a lot when I do random things such as... going on frostwire, after installing java update, etc (I think that this message is from a worm...; I recently used malware anti-malware and have a full scan, but the computer does not have any malware; I also checked my AVG quarantine and the worm wasn't there. The thing that annoys me the most is the message appears system shutdown... (I discovered today it appears randomly when im surfing the internet [this has never happened before]) (I already know how stop automatic shutdown by going to "Run cmd", but is possible to prevent the display of this message? this message is so bad that if I type "run cmd", it seems...)

I have a windows xp (I can't get a new computer now or buy your protection antiviruss software (since I have free versions) and I certainly can't tell my dad cause he'll talk to me MUCH since this is not the first time I got a messed up computer D :))

updated: 14/11/11; Everything seems nice to also stop automatic message that opens at random times and when I go to some programs that triggers the "worm"...
And I also noticed how the command black screen a fraction of a second right before the automatic shutdown message appears

also the worm allows me to run automatic updates with windows...

Also I don't think I can do a system restore because the 'worm' was on my PC for like a year now and I don't think I can come back that far... (and I don't think even the month it happened)

  • I think I got the worst Pre which will still...

Go to do this thoroughly so that maybe some of you can help me before I have begin Sprint tomorrow and see what to do about the replacement of the phone - there may be something further I can do with my phone so it can work correctly.

So here's the deal... I bought the phone earlier today (I guess that technically yesterday) July 1. The second, I left the Sprint Store with the new phone and a new service, I started trying to add contacts to get in touch with people, etc. to inform them of my new phone number. Questions, I started to have immediately was that whenever I tried to open something, he told me that the memory was out and I had to close some cards to be able to open new. The problem with this is that there is no cards open to all. Then I realized what the hell, maybe the phone must charge all the way on the first initial use. So I loaded up the phone with full battery and not tried again - still no luck.

I entered in Google and began searching autour and came across some people who proposed to reset the unit by holding down the power button and flipping the ringer switch and holding the orange key + sym key + key r and do the reset in this way. I tried both and when the phone powered on, still no luck. I've also read that some people were able to find a workaround that involves putting the phone in airplane mode and then put in normal mode - tried who, still no luck. Then I jumped the battery, let it rest for 2 minutes, put the battery back in and still... no luck.

I don't know what is happening with this phone. I can send SMS I can make calls, however receive calls is becoming a problem because the phone is IMMENSELY lag so when the phone comes out of sleep state and warns me that someone calls, and at the time when I click on the button accept to launch the appeal, it has already been too long and the caller hangs up. I press on the screen and it can literally take up to 10-15 seconds before the phone will recognize I clicked on the screen, if it recognizes even I clicked on the screen in some occasions.

I thought that the eff, I'm tired of dealing with this, I'll go and do a hard reset and that I tried to back up the info on the unit, once again, I get the dreaded error full memory and it will not open the device information screen. So I pulled the battery, waited, put it back in and the SECOND, he went to the main screen, I immediately started trying to get to the device information screen. That day, it was a success and I managed to launch a hard reset. After going through the situation any reset, the phone backwards, I chose English as the language and then signed-in my profile, and considering that the phone was brand new, there was nothing that had to sync so it took me directly to the main screen. I thought great, now maybe it will work. I tried to pass in the ringtones option to change ringtones, nope, memory full. Tried to get into the launcher and clicking on 'List of apps' and again, no, memory full. I tried to configure Wifi so that perhaps the update for the phone will fix the issues I am and NOPE, the memory is still full.

SO, with all that said, I signed in online phone manager and launched a hard reset to try the feature based on the web ONCE AGAIN. I still have not received the text message that initiates reset (and I started about 2 hours ago). So yes... The phone is still pretty crushed.

Did any of you can suggest before I'm going to Sprint tomorrow and talk to them and then end up waiting a week before I get my new one? I'd like to get this resolved without having to change the phone out to get a new one, but if I have to, I guess I have.

    Thank you all,

    Ricky

Well, here's a little update... I went to the Sprint store and he saw how * ty it was and actually asked me why I've stuck with it all night, heh. The only reason why I did is the nearest Sprint Store is 2 hours and a half from here where I live. So, I made the trip again today and low and behold, got a new pre and everything works on it perfectly. Now, I'm proud to say that I am a happy owner of pre.

  • I got the Conficker virus and now I can't get Windows Update to work

I got the Conficker Virus/worm infected my system, but have now got rid of him (I think).

I noticed yesterday that Windows Update has just stopped working, it has a red symbol X and said 'windows update cannot currently check updates because the service is not running'. Then, I figured that it could be a virus and tried to download AVG anti-virus, but the virus stopped me to access a website or a program to do with protection against viruses (including all Microsoft sites). Finally, I used a separate laptop and negative to download AVG and some other anti-virus/malware programs and down them mode without failure. I then ran Windows malware removal tool. That seems to have gotten rid of the virus (which has been identified as Conficker), I can now go to any Web site, so it seems that the virus is gone or disabled.

However I can not even access Windows Update. My guess is the virus disabled some component of it, but how now operate again? Is it possible to re-enable it manually? Or y at - it something that I can download to fix?

My computer with two hard drives and 2 starting systems has the car crash in the solid state. When I got the new drive and tried to restore from time capsule, I lost some data. Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

You has of course set the exclusion in Time Machine?

By default, Time Machine will exclude your second drive unless you have included it. Did you?

Once you get to this level during the backup, you can do a full restore manually whenever you want.

  • I think I got contradictory responses after receiving responses to my question about my Photos of girls.

I think I got responses contradictory re using Time Capsule to put the Photos on TC app file and use it as an external hard drive. They say not that you need to partition it and thus voiding the warranty and the other just say Yes.

So, Yes, no or maybe? If so, please explain the procedure to do this. If, maybe just explain it please. If no, I realize that the alternative is to use an external hard drive or iCloud.

She has a MacBook Pro of the retina, end of 2013 and I update to the latest OS X and Photos. She has a time Machine 3 TB who is also his router and wifi. I don't know which model specifically. It is about two years old. She takes pictures with his iPhone and fails to download on his laptop due to the lack of storage.

    Thank you

    Mike

We are all users here give advice... I'm not surprised, that we sometimes give contradictory recommendations. Even I give advice that conflict if my knowledge of the situation is defective or still in development.

    Sometimes, it's

You can do this... but it is risky and unsupported.

A user may have had no problem and so promotes using say the TC for iphoto or photos to store the library... and recommend using it this way based on their experience. That is to say the statistical evidence of a user, they promote what apple says NOT to do. If it works for me it should work for you too... and Apple is so fake.

Now we have to dig very deep to find Apple say do not STORE a LIVE ON the LIBRARY NETWORK DRIVE.

In reference to iphoto they specify that you could search for a month to find statements.

And here's one for iphoto... I have several of them.

iPhoto: sharing libraries among multiple users - Apple Support

Let me give you because it is so important.

It is recommended to store your iPhoto on a locally mounted hard disk library. Store your iPhoto on a sharing library network can lead to poor performance, data corruption or data loss.

But look at the posts in the section photos or iphoto by Terence Devlin... He's an expert there.

iPhoto doesn't remember the location of the library (NAS album)

What I don't have is the evidence for the photos. Apple changed the App enough that the tips of old is no longer relevant?

Frankly I doubt they have simply not a statement any where... at least one I can find that says as clearly as above for iphoto do not. So I'm going to turn on the caution here.

Given that the fundamental problem of the networks, is that you open a library, start working on a photo, and then the network fails, (very likely in the case of wireless connections)... the library is left in a State where he has a picture in the middle of editing. But there is no mechanism to close the file and save it. It corrupts not simply the file but the library.

I wish they made their intentions clearer to people. Sometimes, it makes no sense.

    * Beginning of speculation.

IE if use you iCloud, why is - this different to the use of your own network storage space. Why apple does not do these extensions available in their network with server operating system or router? None of these answers are available to us... but clearly, Apple now wants to be able to use iCloud. They took a lot of effort to ensure that all devices will connect via iCloud and NOT on a local server. Clearly, Apple is pitching for a future cloud. That's why no SIN... That's why no media or other extensions in the TC. end speculation *.

She can not download them directly on the TC either. You still have to work via iCloud or Mac.

So, I would say... be sensitive. Photos are now easily lost by simple corruption of a file or removal or accidental loss or theft or fire, etc..

1 cloud makes sense... If you have sufficient bandwidth to use it.

    2. for the majority of the world without a bandwidth adequate Internet... always plan for the worst. What happens if the TC library is corrupted. (Identical to the previous advice of iphoto library). Well, you need backups. How do you do that? And here's where the trouble begins. The TC is not designed as a NAS... It has BUILT in BACKUP. Any NAS is designed to automatically save its files on a USB key. Transport CANADA is a target for Time Machine. But Time Machine backup network drives impossible. If problem... you need a new running on the Mac backup software. for example Carbon Copy Cloner can do.

Following problem... where are you go to too many backup... A USB attached to the TC... It is possible... Problem. It is not reliable. Is not fast. If you use wireless... you will discover the belly of the Sarlacc pit of pain and suffering where you are slowly digested over 1000years... That is to say, is how long this backup will seem to take. OK, so accelerate you backup by hanging a USB on the Mac... significant improvement that made... but if hang... now we are at the beginning.

You have a hard drive plugged into the Mac Time Machine could save TB... Why not put the PHOTO library here. It's a fast, reliable and efficient way to run the library... So, we went full circle.

    That does help at all.

  • BIOS update problems. After SP3 update, I got the BSOD and cannot be run in Mode without failure.

Yesterday I went to the AMD site to download the latest version of the BIOS.  I installed the SP3 for XP and got the BSOD but no details, only four error codes after the Stop 0x0000007e.

Registered under a WinZip BIOS and when I opened it, it was defined as a file of VLC media player, which seemed poorly, and as a text file, which seemed wrong.  Earlier, but I had been able to open it, then run, and then he said that I had to stop so he could activate.  So when I said if turned off, the system said, hang on, it's not over and if you stop now, you may lose files.  So I waited, nothing happened.  So I did it again, and he says that you want to uninstall, suggesting it was already installed.

If it has been installed, it has obviously had no effect on my BSOD problem.  Only, I can boot into safe mode since I've upgraded to SP3.  And a question he says might be the problem, it's a BIOS updated.

Have I not two BIOS?  One for the CPU and one for the motherboard?  I went to update my ASUS MB, but who could have got WinZip number, not the AMD BIOS for the CPU.  Anyway, still getting the BSOD.  And when I started, I don't think that the version of the BIOS has changed.  But I could check my version against the latest versions, and I'm seriously out of date.

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 + 89v.

    Motherboard is ASUS M2N-SLI-Deluxe

I really don't think the updated BIOS updated.

They got the camera and the document in question but not the receipt stapled to work question doc. rush has begun... I guess they couldn't have called a second time.

I bought an extended warranty from Sony... As of today, I have received no documentation for the purchase of only a charge on my credit card. I discovered today that they had the wrong address, and their emails bounced back to them... Maybe they are allowed only one phone call.

My frustration is... it's first anniversary year of my grandson tomorrow and I don't have another device. We will have so many lost moments to remember Sony by.

I was put on hold five times with background music blasting. Someone should tell a background music is not for entertainment.

Sorry next time I'll try an another Sony Canon.

Hey Rand. I'm a little confused by your message. You mentioned not having a camera for your grandson's birthday... You're having problems with your Sony camera or have info. on a recent purchase?

  • My computer freezes and the only way so he can come back is to hit the reset button. He did it since the day that I got the computer.

I talked to my people to internet protection and they say that it must be something to do with microsoft software. I bought the computer from people don't get it to reproduce the problem, so they can not fix it. Sometimes I'm on the internet or not that's why I tend to think it's a matter of microsoft.

How old is the computer?  Is it is a Windows problem, then a clean reinstall or reset to factory State would fix it.  It was present from the first day that you got the computer so I tend to think that it is a hardware problem, call those who sold you the computer using, if I had received such a machine, I immediately, he would have returned, computers are not supposed to work like this when they come new out of the box!  To solve this, I would like to start by running a test of the RAM on the machine.

  • I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware.

I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware. They said that they were connected with Windows, so I asked if they were Microsoft and they said that no Microsoft would not call me. Wouldn't be a darn good Microsoft. The guy was Indian or Pakistani and wouldn't give me a company name, no matter how many times I asked.

They said they received reports from my computer it has been infected. The last call I let them go through their process to prove to myself that my computer has been infected. They told me to go to the event viewer, logs of windows, applications and said there will be errors and warnings there.

It was proof that he was infected and that they wanted to give me their approval to scan my computer so their 'Microsoft engineers' can solve the problem with Windows tools. At this point, after 20 minutes, I denied their access to the computer and hung up that it had no proof that I was worried. One of our friends had the same call on fixing Windows sound, she had an Apple Mac, I would have liked to see their difficulty its version of Windows.

I have 3 questions for this and they are: -.

1 can. anyone if your computer is infected using the event viewer?

2 can they tell if she is infected when the computer has a firewall and is also behind a router with a firewall?

    3. I would be right in thinking that there is another form of the scam fake phone call?

    1. If possible, get the errors or warnings in the event viewer is quite common, but say you have a virus just based on that, it's simply stupid.

    2. they do what is called call cold. They call every phone # in the phone book and say "your computer is infected" even if you do not, Yes, it's a scam and yes they are stupid.

    3. Yes. The only way they would be able to tell if your computer has a virus would be if they had access to it, and if they have BEEN with microsoft, which is not, it would be a breach of privacy.

  • Remove w32/blaster.worm of Windows Vista

    Original title: w32/blaster.worm removal

Can I remove this manually. I could use some help, but the situation is that my computer from now cannot detect even a network so I have no internet connection. This computer is very good and that's why I connected a m.

But I need to remove w32/blaster.worm
    No matter what?
    Thank you

    Hello

If necessary download on another computer and transfer then to your computer on removable
readers of media such as CD, DVD or USB. You can also try the Safe Mode with network - several times
    as you start, press F8.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.

TDSSKiller.exe. - Download the desktop - so go ahead and right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
It will display all the infections in the report after you run - if it will not run changed the name of
TDSSKiller.exe to tdsskiller.com. If she finds something or not does not mean that you should not
check with the other methods below.

  • Win 7 thinks that I have a 32-bit system when I try to install the 64-bit and he thinks I have the 64 bit when I try to install the 32-bit version

Win 7 thinks that I have a 32-bit system when I try to install the 64-bit and he thinks I have the 64 bit when I try to install the 32-bit version
I know I am running vista 64-bit, it states that in the system properties

I have a HP Pavilion A6700, when I went to upgrade to Vista 64 bit to win7 64-bit (win7) said I can't upgrade an OS to a 64 bit one, so I tried the other way and tried to install the 32-bit 32-bit version, and then I got the msg, you cannot pass an OS 64-bit for a
32 bit one, I looked in the system properties and it is running vista 64-bit
Other than a clean install what can I do to improve?
and if I do a clean install which are the files I need backup so I don't lose my data?

Make sure you have the latest Service Pack for Windows Vista installed. Which edition of Windows Vista 64-bit you're running and what edition of Windows 7 you are trying to upgrade to?

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.

I just bought a version of lightroom upgrade 6 (mac, upgrade from lightroom 4) and began the process of installation, but when I entered the serial number of the previous version, I got the message "the serial number you entered is not valid. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service. The number I entered is correct - I checked against the original package and on the products of my adobe account page, and I get the error message even if I try to enter the serial number of the version of lightroom 3 I had before. I am at a loss to understand what I can do: I paid for this product, but I can't install it. The only thing I can think is that the lightroom 4A was purchased from an old computer, but it has migrated successfully to my current imac, as surely, it should work.

Problem is resolved now - it's due to my misunderstanding of what was required, and enter the serial number of the previous version (as an upgrade) instead of the serial number of the version I had to buy). My apologies for my mistake and thank you for your time.
