While I was working on my Mac last night, I received a message that I had to download an Adobe (I think an Acrobat X Pro) update. Yes, I did. This seems to be the time when I started to have problems. Now I can't use the program uninstaller. I think that maybe that's the problem, but my ability to fix stops here.
I am usually more discernment on updates, etc., but I was working on a project and the update flashing bothers me, so I hit Yes, not really looking at the app I was updating. Ugh. My mistake.
Go to Firefox preferences, 'Applications' "Preview/application/pdf Documents. Click on the "Action" column and "history of (by default) use. The Adobe update apparently changed that preference to download.

Have you checked if the preference to restore the last session is always defined when you open Firefox? You can read the article How to fix preferences that will not save. It may be that Firefox can't save this preference.

Could not open the MS Sites
My machine works all the microsoft Web sites. For the past 2 years my laptop works fine with the same hardware configuration. It stops working suddenly MS websites. I did not have all the hardware changes.

Tried it on IE, mozilla and chrome.
I tried to change the size of the memory virtual and also changed to the size of the managed system.
formatted and installed xp pro with sp3 and I also tried formatting and install from different cd with xp and sp2. It works for 3 or 4 minute MS sites and the message immedly appears low virtual memory and it stops working MS sites.
tried to change the physical memory.
Tried with different browsers.

Having read all the info from the help and can't get out of a mode where it goes back to the last session with all the tabs in the condition that they stayed in except the page is not loaded until you go to the tab.

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.
The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself.The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

Please follow the steps below:
- Please check if you have installed browser security extensions, please disable them. (For example: AD BLOCK, Advisor to Mcafee website, toolbar of internet security etc.)
- Disable the firewall of your machine, see OS x: about the application firewall - Apple Support
- Turn off the firewall of the security program installed on the computer Internet.
- Go to: Apple icon > system preferences > Security & Privacy > General > "allow applications downloaded on" change this anywhere (to make these changes click the padlock in the corner at the bottom left of this window and enter your computer password)

Need to reinstall all the software for non-native Mac (OS 10.9.1) at a MacBookPro 2009 vintage, I had installed Firefox v. 27. As I tried to connect to the web links (which many were not problematic), I started gradually to meet the pages that would never load. Then I got a similar behavior with URL entered manually (only some; gradually more frequent). I had installed some standard modules of privacy, but I uninstalled then them. I tried to reset Firefox without result. I freshly reinstalled (or so I thought) nothing works. I tested the performance against the native Safari and initially had some problems but could access certain websites. At the point where I realized I should do a clean removal of Firefox, I was no longer able to access to any site of Mozilla in any way, except the Help menu on the installed copy and who wouldn't let me download a new copy of v.27. I was able to access a CNet Firefox download page, and he agreed than an interrupted download request but each test (5). I'm hoping to learn a way (may need to be drop the a v. 27 dmg, but hope not) to return to the operation.
I am also successfully to access the download sites. I think that it is now OK. Thanks a lot for the replies and suggestions. The firewall seems to have been it.

Does not work an extension of solitaire. Many of them say they'll be updated to Firefox is restarted. Apparently, some of them seem to work, but by clicking on the 'Préférences' button does not cause any response. I have Firefox 3.6.13. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the extensions (Stumbleupon) but nothing is. I have to be re - install Firefox here?
