  If you still want to open the sites that you opened before, in the Options dialog box, go to the general Panel and make sure that the parameter 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '.   Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode.   Maybe you should start to close tabs message after reading the. If you open your Inbox is pushed off the screen so you obviously just keep opening tabs without closing the 'old'.
