I uninstalled Firefox due to the event of 11.3 Flash. Now, it would not be re - install in my laptop. What can I do?

My laptop runs on 64-bit Windows 8. I decided to uninstall Firefox and re - install again until I discovered the 11.3 Flash topic.
After the uninstall, I downloaded the "Firefox setup 18.0.2" and HE would NOT RETURN after having extracted the files INSTALL.
Just out of curiosity, I tried to install Chrome (that is not already installed) and it happened exactly the same thing.
Currently, I am forced to use IE10, because the Flash update is integrated and it works well.

What should I do to reinstall Firefox?

Thanks cor - el!
In fact, I chose to use a restore point and everything has been resolved!
It's amazing what a big mess was caused because of this malware Flash player...
