I uninstalled firefox mistakenly after getting a double version of 15.0 on my computer... after it redownloading... I lost ALL my favorites, passwords, tabs. Help
As I said earlier, just after my update to the latest firefox [15.0.1] I found two of the same versions of it on my program features so I decided to delete one. Unfortunately for my TI cleaned them both and after reinstalling firefox, I realized all my TAB files, bookmarks, passwords and history had disappeared. This is very fustrating for me because most of the passwords are very important as well as the links that I have my favorites.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, or a number of a team support I could call for assistance?
Did you select remove my Firefox personal data and customizations in the uninstall routine?
If so, all your Firefox data has been deleted and you will need to use a program like Recuva file recovery utility to recover your files.

I'm trying to uninstall Firefox 20 and get the latest version which I think is version 21? He won't let me unistall it when I go to menu start and hit on uninstall a program and choose Firefox. It shows 'Please wait while firefox is unistalling', but it never uninstall. The bar moves ever green. I tried to uninstall manually and then install firefox 21 but then firefox 20 returned to the top (after I installed the new version) with all my saved data. It seemed that he did until I uninstalled manually, or thought I did.

My computer crashed (blue screen) and when it restarted a box came asking me to update Firefox. I clicked on OK (thought he was just trying to restore the session) and I have now lost all my favorites, passwords registered etc. There is no 'old Firefox data' folder anywhere on my system - help! is there a way I can get it all back without doing a system restore? I am running Windows 7.
Hi, you can try it for only bookmarks: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.
If not and the other favorites, please see.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Ask.com has installed on my browser, I followed the directions to get rid of him but doing so lost all my passwords saved. Is it possible to get these back?
As mentioned above, to retrieve passwords rom another profile or in the "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop you need to restore the file signons.sqlite and key3db.

How can I retrieve my saved passwords?Thank you!
If the file has no valid data then you may not use this file.
You can try if there is an earlier copy of the logins.json file.

Lost all my favorites after my dept IT messed with my computer.
I came this morning and my computer was in place. My Department I.T. staff has spent an hour playing with my computer, and when I got back on my machine, it failed to Mozilla Firefox. They came back and restored to Mozilla, but they lost my favorites and replaced by very old favorites of IE. I don't use IE except when it is required for some programs, if bookmarks are extremely outdated.
How can I return my favorites? I tried all the difficulties that I can find online, but I can't find an archived date before today. Am I missing something somewhere?
I searched the Windows Explorer for all files with the word in them bookmarks. I found my last automated backup from Friday and was able to restore my old favorites. Main problem is trying to find with the instructions found on the Internet, my I.T. Department has disabled being able to find files in AppData. When I found the Friday backup, I copied to my desktop and was able to restore from my office.
I have found a workaround which my I.T. team has setup to keep staff to fix their own problems.

Hello
I guess you have Firefox Sync (as you MENTION your email), and your husband used the Reset Firefox feature?
Please make sure you have a folder called "Old Firefox Data" on your desktop. If there is, then in Firefox unsync your current Firefox sync account, save new bookmarks, you can do (please see Firefox export bookmarks to an HTML element of the file for backup or transfer bookmarks) and then go to your profile folder:
- Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:
- Click the menu button
click Help
and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.
- If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
- Click the menu button
- Click on the "View file" button by "account profile".
- Closing of Firefox (Menu
>
)
- If you are unable to use Firefox to access your profile for a reason folder, please visit https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox
- In your Firefox profile folder, rename the file places.sqlite old places.sqlite
- Go to the "Old data Firefox" folder and copy the file places.sqlite and paste it in your Firefox profile folder where you renamed this file
- Open Firefox again and check if your bookmarks are there.
- (Optionally) recover bookmarks you exported by following this link: import bookmarks to an HTML file
You can try to configure sync still once more. Let us know if this helped!
