  PROBLEM SOLVED! and I feel so stupid, but maybe this will help others. I had downloaded Firefox 36.0 and it was in my applications folder, BUT I kept clicking on the old icon Firefox so still grown 16.0. If the data was all there, just hidden. (very embarrassed that I didn't have to look for something like that). All I had to do was "Show toolbar". Maybe this can help someone else.
