Upgrading RAM and now computer laptop does not start for Windows 7

Hi all

I'm working on laptop HP Pavillion G7-1070us of my father, and I'm having a problem starting after the installation of 8 GB of RAM.  I upurchased 2 sticks of 4 GB of DDR3 PC10600 UN buffered, NON ECC RAM of Frys and everytime I go to start the laptop it throws an error that can not load Windows and offers to run the repair or start normally... little matter that you select, it goes back in the loop of what prompts to repair or load... The BIOS recognizes all the 8 gb... have you tried 2 different sets of different manufacturers (Patriot and Crucial). As soon as I pop 2 2 GB sticks in it boots fine... I even tried to start the the Windows 7 DVD to repair windows, but he always comes back in the loop... I tried the two current and previous BIOS without success... Help, please

Hello

Sorry, I've updated the link:

    Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you are facing problems with your Windows 7 computer. The question might be if there is a file system corruption. Then I suggest you to perform auto repair. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

    Method 2

Try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    3. Click repair your computer.

    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

  • laptop does not start in windows

Computer hp pavilion dv6 3085tx laptop I used for 2 years, nw its not start in windows, but it boot in the BIOS, I have given hard drive that test by pressing F4, the result is quick (303) hard drive and disk hard full (305) are red and yellow smart hard drive. When I tried to recover windows OS with recovery disks, it shows, unable to do the partition E drive error. If completely damaged hard drive? Looks like your hard drive needs to be replaced.

Here is the service manual for your laptop:
    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01758220.PDF

If you look down in the Description of the product, you should see what hard drives are supported by your computer. Looks to up to 500 GB (5400 RPM). You can also visit www.crucial.com, type in your product number and they will make recommendations to hard drive. (You may be able to get more than a 500 GB hard drive, but you may need to update your bios to recognize).

  • I just cleaned the gills vacuum in my desktop iMac computer and removed and cleaned where is ram and now my iMac does not illuminate and the screen is black. My external hard drive turns on and I can hear it running, but that's all. Any ideas. I'm devasta

I thought I was doing the right thing, but now it is clear that I was not properly clean even if I was very gentle. Why the screen lights up or really light up at all. Completely black and the keyboard does not light either. Someone has an idea? Thank you

Unfortunately, vacuums are very statically charge and their use within electronic devices is usually not a good idea. It is very possible that the discharges of static electricity has damaged your iMac.

I hope that you unplugged the iMac before cleaning. Make sure that the iMac is reconnected.

  • surge in the House and now the pc does not start

Despite beinbg plugged into a surge protector, it seems as if the power went out while I was away from home and this caused a wave (a conclusion). I guess it was a wave because now my HP 7250n media center pc will not start. Do not nothing fans. Just completely dead.

What did I try? The light on the back of the computer remains turned on, so I followed the steps I have read on HP forum as an advisor help what to what power is out and the light stays on (as opposed to Flash, which it is not). I held the power button down while the system was disconnected. No power. I then tried to move the tension and then again, although the system was disconnected. It did not return the power. I opened the side panel and confirmed that the sons were running to the motherboard and have been connected correctly.

Of course, I tried the machine on several different points of sale, and it is not a function of a defective surge protector or the decision-making.

I have read one or two related forums which involved a debate between whether a PSU or of the motherboard problem. But I am pretty illiterate about these issues and don't know how to test or change a PSU. And the motherboard, I won't try to play with that. One of the messages, said if the light remained on was probably the case that the power supply was still OK, but this did not mean he would be able to power your computer (and did not say what to do if the light remains on, but rather continued to discuss what to do if the light flashes... that's not my situation). I guess I'm willing to try things if anyone has any suggestions, but I did the basic things that are offered at the beginning already. Are there next steps that someone can suggest?

    Thank you.

Gordon, here is the information on the Belkin surge protector that I use:

    Model: BE112234-10
    Belkin 12-Outlet Surge coaxial Protection

There are 3960 joules (prn. jewellery) of surge protection.  I don't understand the terminology entirely, but my son is an electrician and specialist in security system (low voltage) and he said it's a lot.  At least, for our part of the country.  It has also 12 points of sale with several outlets for small transformers that lift so much space.

Replace a power supply is not so difficult.  The key is to watch where the wires are connected when you delete them.  You can take a photo before you start.  This will give you an idea of the area where they are going.  Most of the news of the PSU have the wires marked clearly as to where they connect.  The motherboard connectors are also marked clearly.  The hardest part is to get all the cables that are placed so that they don't block air to one of the components.  Need me normally up to an hour to do it correctly.  Sometimes, you need to get inventive with bigger cables.

If you need assistance with the project, let us know.

  • Hello, my daughter has closed a Trojan warning box and now the pc does not receive the windows software

It stops at the black screen and the cursor in the upper left corner is what is a destructive hard drive format please because she'll lose everything on the pc, it has a hp pc and if there is a way to get off his stuff before the format, I would like to know please

    Hello

Step 1: Disconnect any external devices (except keyboard and mouse) connected to the computer and check if you are able to boot.

Step 2: Check if you are able to boot in safe mode. If you are able to boot into safe mode with success and then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Reference:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    a. click Startand then click run.

    b. type msconfigand click OK.

The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    c. click on the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    d. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

  • Laptop does not start after Windows update

I have HP laptop with Windows 8.1.

It no longer starts after you install updates.

It has happened before several times. I used system restore and it should correct the problem temporarily until the next time for the installation of updates.

Now I can not even run system restore. He says that I have an administrator account.

    Help, please.

The process I'll tell you will solve the problem, but it leaves a few effects. All the installed update will be uninstalled the version they had when you have installed 8.1 windows and programs in your programs (x 86) NO program file in the C: drive or the drive where windows is installed must be UNINSTALLED. The uninstalled programs will appear on your desktop as Applications.HTML removed. If you have any problem with the effects that I mentioned that process as follows:

    1. at start up press F11 to enter recovery.

    2. go on recovery to solve problems.

    3. then in troubleshooting, click on refresh your PC.

    4. wait it ends (it takes about an hour)

    5. your system is restored.

    Hope this helps

  • HP 15-f009wm Notebook PC: laptop does not start in windows. UEFI diags say hard drive is bad.

I intend to replace the hard drive for this machine. What can I use?   I am using this one.

However I don't have a recovery disc and machine is a windows coa on it.  I do not know what image to use 64 bit? House?    Do I need to download a special HP image?

    Thank you

    Ben

This hard drive works perfectly. The good news for you is that if you have 10 Windows on the old hard drive and it has been activated, you can use the tool for creating Windows 10 media on any computer to do an installation of the full version Windows 10 disc and reinstall Windows 10 and it will activate automatically. It sounds a bit like 'Big Brother', but Microsoft has a profile of each computer enabled with 10 windows and he "knows" your computer by hardware ID or black magic, that we can guess only vaguely. You just need to know if you had 10 Windows Home or Pro (probably home and almost certainly 64bits)

Post back with more questions. You have other HDD and SSD options, as well.

  • My laptop does not start after cleaning

    Hello
I knew an overheating problem on my laptop.
I therefore decided to remove a processor heat sink and empty dust. It was released with processor...
There was a huge load of dust, so I cleaned it, put new thermal paste...

Now computer laptop does not start loading Windows.
It checks only the CD, HARD disk, and that's it.
Screen is blank, ON the indicator led is on.
Two fans periodically start to turn (when they stop radiator heat - so the processor works)

    Where is the problem?

    Thank you

    Hi Dubas,
You can access the BIOS when you try to start your laptop? This can give you a clue as to why the OS will not charge.

    Kind regards

  • Update Mac OS, now VMWare Fusion does not start

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.4.11 on Intel MacBook Pro and now VMWare Fusion does not start.  I've since installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled to Fusion 2.0.2.  That did not help

I have attached the logs from VMWare. Any suggestions?

    John

    Hi John,.

I checked your logs - thank you for them!  That you use in an accident in one of the Apple libraries (OpenSSL, to be precise), which uses VMware Fusion.

I see a number of Mac OS X 10.4.11 users complain about the accident even in iTunes:

    http://discussions.Apple.com/thread.jspa?MessageID=8254606

    http://forums.Macworld.com/thread/105826

They claim that the installation of the latest Apple security updates (they specifically mention 2008-007) solves the problem.

Can you try to install the latest security updates, and let us know if this fixes the bug Apple?

    Thank you!

  • Pavilion dv6: computer HP pavilion laptop does not start and I do not see the screen because it's broken

I have the HP pavilion computer laptop windows 7 and I broke the screen about a year, I can't see the start menus. I have been using an external monitor and it has always worked well, but now I can't see how to fix my computer to boot.  I did a hard boot but nothing happened, and with a broken screen, I can't see any of my options on how to fix it.  It does not start.  Looks like it is, but because I don't see the menu F8 or Boot, I can't call themselves that the screen can be done.  Help, please.

    Hello @SPKaler,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post on the issue with the laptop won't start does not and wanted to help you!  I understand that the screen is damaged and you are using the external monitor to view the screen.  However, now that the laptop does not start, you can see is more of the external screen to see what is happening.

From my understanding, you should not be able to see an image on the external monitor, until you start the operating system.  You can try to perform a system restore by using this document:

HP computers - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

You may be able to follow along, long enough until the image is displayed on the external monitor.  Otherwise, you can contact HP support by phone, for additional options.
