I want restore system back 2 months

I want to restore the system back to 2 months, but windows will not let me. I have in the past (6 months - 1 year) but can't now.

Hello

1 did you change on your computer?

2 did you receive an error message?

What happens exactly when you try is the system restore?

I suggest you restore the system to safe mode. If it doesn't work, then try to WinRE mode.

Advanced, including safe mode startup options

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

I suggest you to perform system restore on your computer of the WinRe and check if you are able to restore the settings work correctly.

a. Insert the Windows vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

b. press a key when the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD".

c. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

d. click on repair your computer.

e. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, select the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

f. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click System Restore.

g. follow the instructions in the System Restore Wizard and choose the appropriate restore point.

h. click Finish to restore the system.

  • Tried to download the last update, no compatible system, now browser does not work even when I tried to download it again. I have bookmarks, I want to come back.

Currently, I have a Mac, version 10.5.8. My Firefox was slow so I tried to download the latest version. When it was downloaded, a message pops up saying that this version of Firefox is not compatible with my system. Well, ' don't quite no fault "I thought and I tired to go back to my previous browser.
But when I went to click on it, there was a large circle with a line through it. I couldn't open anything. Firefox has actually been removed from my computer.
Now it's ok if I can't start Firefox more but I got thousands of bookmarks, compiled over the years that I really want to go back. And I have no idea how to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello world.
I have downloaded the old version of firefox, replaced the new with the old and boom! They were there!

Sorry for the runaround. Just goes to show that you should always have backups for things.

    Thanks anyway.

  • I want to go back to windows 7

My laptop came with Windows 7 above. I put Windows 8 on it and don't like it.

    I don't have a recovery disk... don't think I'd need it :-(

I want to go back to Windows 7!

Do I need to buy this product or is it possibly hiding on my computer somewhere?

Help, please... PS I tried the thing of recovery where you press F11 at startup upward and it did nothing.

You can buy a recovery disk (HP dvd). This would be a specific model. Contact HP or

Go to HP.com support and drivers for your system model. You should have a link to a page to buy a DVD of restoration. This would bring your laptop to factory fresh (out of box condition). The recovery partition has been "broken" by your upgrade.

Last time I bought a DVD of recovery, it was less $20 dollars (US).

    Kind regards

  • Basic system back up DVD Vista

I want my system to vista basic, i.e. the disk hard operating system and files associated backup on a DVD. When I use the control panel configuration, then Im Centre of backup and restore receives a unique option. That option is "backup files '. '"  This should read "System backup" if Im correct.  I need to download software? I thought that the system came with a backup feature.  I failed to do it the first day.  I have no original back upward.  I have a D: drive but do not understand how to restore from it.  I restore the DVD supplied with the PC, but the updates I needed when the restoration was complete once took several hours.  Im trying to avoid this process long if I should have any problems with the drive again.  The problem I had seemed to be a rootkit, the system become slow, I used defrag and clean up the C: drive but the slow system and hang ups continued.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The foregoing may not be a credible source, but I had the feeling that this was the case, so I googled TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS - H493B SCSI cdROM DVICE... and came up with it.

I will try to check this further, but I think I need to buy a DVD player that burns.

    ==========================================
    You are exactly right...

The drive you have will read and write to the CD and will only read DVD.

    See the following links:

    Introduction: TSST TS-H493B CDRW/DVD-ROM drive user's Guide

Specifications: The User Guide for the reader of CD-RW/DVD-ROM TSST TS-H493B

If he would have to burn a DVD it looks like DVD - RW. instead of DVD - ROM

I wish I had noticed that earlier but missed.

  • How to restore a back up on top of an external hard drive

Hello.  I just got a new laptop from HP windows 8 and you want to restore a back up I took my old HP laptop on an external hard drive.  When I plug the hard drive, the ups return display in the file Explorer, but I can't find a way to restore the backup to the new laptop, the only option I can find is to know how to put in place to save on the hard drive and restore the files that I've just saved from the new laptop.  There is nothing really on the new computer laptop so it doesn't matter if I lose these (and they are now saved when even!), its mainly pictures and iTunes on the back up, a few old excel & word files I think.  When I click on Explorer the external hard drive in the file, there is a PC owner icon that shows a folder named Backup set & the date, he didn't save folders of files for various dates, in the most recent are the backup files 1 & backup files 2, from 2012.

How can I get these on the new laptop?  I can't take another back up as the old laptop crashed and lost everything, where the need to get this back up to the new computer.

    Help, please!  Thank you

    Hello Jacq,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

As described in the question, I understand that you are unable to find a way to restore your backup of the old computer stored on an external drive on your new computer windows 8.

In earlier versions of Windows (Windows 7, Vista), you can use Backup and Restore to back up your files or create and use a backup or image system repair disc. Windows 8 and 8.1 gives you choices on how you can recover your PC and backup your personal files.

You can use the file history to back up the files on your PC in Documents folders, music, photos, videos and office and the OneDrive available offline on your PC. First of all, you need set up a historical file player and turn on the history of the files. For more information, see set up a drive to the history file. If your original files are lost, damaged or deleted, you can restore them. You can also browse and restore different versions of your files. For more information, see to restore files or folders by using the history file.

You can also view the Microsoft article below for more information about restoring your backup of the data on your new computer Windows 8.

  • How can I get the old function to choose which page I want to go back to? I run Firefox 8.0.1.

In older versions of Firefox, the back button has a small chip of a button allowing you to return to a specific page, until like 10 pages back. So if you knew that you wanted to go back two or three pages, you don't have to hit the back two or three times, you simply press this button and then select the page you wanted back. Can I have this option in Firefox 8.0.1? Thank you

Click and hold the unified back / next button, or right-click to get the rear / front in the history of this tab.

Or install this extension to get the restored former "drop-marker" button.

  • Want to go back for Win 7 after the installation of Win 8

    Hello!

2 years ago, I bought a toshiba laptop satellite L series.
It came with a win7 64 bit os and a folder HDDRecovery on hard disk, no cd.

I have used this cover several times before, no problem with that.

Then I bought 8 Win and installed on my computer, removal of Win7.
But I want to go back to Win7.

I tried to press 0 at the beginning for the recovery, but it did not work. Pressing 0 will not activate HDDRecovery

In addition, F8 at startup no longer works with the advanced startup options. I tried to copy all the contents of the folder HDDRecovery on a usb key and start with that, but he said: "no operating system found, displug all devices and restart etc.»

So, the problem is, I can't use HDDRecovery. It is a record around 8 GB. I have it, but can not activate the recovery.

    I hope some1 can help

    Thank you

    Hello

Looks like you made a BIG mistake because you have not created the recovery din mentioned user manual disc / reminder on screen, etc.

The fact is that recovery of HARD drive was an option of additional recovery next to recovery disk but drive HARD recovery does NOT work after the HARD drive has been formatted, modified or another operating system installed.

If not, you have just one option: you have to order a recovery disc that contains Win 7

I want to go back to windows 7. I tried 10 but decided one day late and I understand that I am against. I did recovery dics awhile back is that all I'l need to do a factory reset? I went to the Windows site to get a Windows 7 ISO, but I got an error and said that I have to get it from the manufacturer. I can't seem to find it on the HP site and it seems I'm getting a race. Is that the recovery discs all that I need.

Another thing that I liked the Windows 7 and probably a good reason has Windows Media Center. Whne I come back, it will be restored?

Yes, you can use the recovery Dics/media to go back.

my wifi password has been changed and now I want to get back in touch with the new password HOW

    Hey gerritfrompretoria,

If you are not prompted to use the new password to your Wi - Fi network when trying to connect, you may have to remove the network on your system. This can be done by the following steps.

    1. Open system preferences in the Apple menu
    2. Choose the network
    3. Select a Wi - Fi connection on the left
    4. Click Advanced... in the bottom right
    5. Choose your network from the list of preferred networks
    6. Click on the '-' at the bottom of the list
    7. Click OK
    8. Click on apply

Once removed try to connect to your Wi - Fi network normally and you will be prompted for the password.

    Sincerely

I have a mini hp 10 inch.  I want to get back to factory conditions or at least start in safe mode.  Help, please

Hi, Patty Young. Need you to restore your computer settings or the recovery disk or your computer must have a recovery partition. To start in safe mode, you simply press the F8 key when you see the initial screen and then choose Startup mode in the Advanced menu options. I honestly recommend however, that can you tell me what your question is so that we can try to resolve without the need of recovery.
