I WANT THE RETURN OF DIGITAL IMAGES

I started to edit images with MS PhotoDraw, later, PictureIt and then several incarnations of the Digital Image. My last laptop was stolen along with my drive Digital Image Pro. I am now running Wdws7 and MS said that the features are live - B.S.! (it's Bull...).  Miss me it, I need it, I want to again - what can I do?

I agree with you on the digital image! I bought the retail version and it was not cheap. I really enjoy editing with it. I put the names on the many photos of my orginal Golden Army Knight husbands ' team of 60. It is the only program that I have and that allows you to add individual names on many people. I think that the public should have the right to continue to use the programs that we have. Millions of people and businesses still running windows xp and do not want anything else! Me too.

Without a doubt... XP and digital images have many loyal users... including me.

FWIW... the free Picasa software has an option to add text to pictures.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a before system restore point)
installation of software or updates)

Picasa

After downloading and installing Picasa... Open the program and left double
Click on an image to open the editing functions.

To add text to the front of the photo... Choose... Simple retouching / text button...

  • Best laptop and monitor for the post-processing digital image

    Hi all

I'm looking for advice on my best options for a new Dell laptop and the monitor.

Main use will be post processing of digital images using DxO 10 and Photoshop CS5.  Other I will use Word, Excel and internet access (for my WordPress web site and blog, the video/TV streaming and others).

Preliminary research suggests one of the Ultrasharp monitors is probably what I need.  I presume that would be connected via a docking station.  I'm also running backup on an external hard drive.

Most gifted in computer of friends tell me that my new laptop would have better I7 CPU, the more powerful video card stand-alone capable of handling the laptop sufficiently fast RAM, minimum USB3 ports and a HDMI connection.

I live in Australia and, of course, need suggestions for templates available there.  My budget is of roughly$ 2,500, but I could go a little higher if there is a compelling reason to do so.  While I do not have a lot of use of computing I am not very computer technical, where my request for advice.

    Hi Donny54,

All Ultrasharp monitors works well for you. You will need to make sure that the laptop has a port for an external monitor or a docking station.

You should probably review the XPS laptops.

  • Lose the tray for "Digital Imaging Monitor" icon

The "Digital Imaging Monitor" HP is great. It keeps my printer sharing and I love it, however, I don't have the icon down in the system tray. I know how to turn it off, 'right click - out', but I'd like to keep the "Digital Imaging Monitor" running and loose just the tray icon. There is no option for "icon view". Any suggestions? (HP Digital Imaging Monitor ver 10.0)

    Hi Drew777,

Thanks for the reply, but I think you have me a little confused now. I don't know what you mean, what is the functionality of Windows 7 for all icons. As you can see in the screenshot, you can select options for each icon, you should be able to Windows XP as well, stated in this paper How to hide icons in Windows XP system tray .

I feel like I'm missing just something here then please provide any other details in order to get to the same page you are on

  • Microsoft Digital Imaging Anniversary Edition-could not remove photos from the digital image library

    Microsoft Digital Imaging Anniversary Edition

I have problems with digital imaging.  Never been wrong before, so I'm puzzled!  Recently added pix from CD to digital photo Image file picked up but did not display the photos on the page of digital image library - they come just under the icon standard w/o a view of the pix.  I tried to delete these files where the pix would not come to the top of the digital image.  Digital image would not remove them.  I deleted the pix of the computer files.  Digital image still would not remove the files in the library. I went into the Control Panel, I removed & reinstalled the Digital Image, but all files keep coming back.  Digital Imaging tells me I have 4000 photos stored there!  If I do, where are they?  I can't find them!   Is there something else I can do?

I use Windows XP.  I've seen Info for Vista, but I need it for XP.

The MS Digital Image Library maintains a proprietary database
named Pictures.pd3 who is not deleted when the program is
    uninstalled/reinstalled.

If you rename Pictures.pd3 to Pictures.OLD... the next time you
Open the library, it will be because it was the first opening.

Windows XP... the Pictures.pd3 database file is located at:

    C:\Documents and Settings\.
    Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\
    POD\Pictures.Pd3

If you can't find the file, open a file and
Reach... Tools / Folder Options / View tab on...
Tick... Display the hidden files and folders / apply / OK.

  • Is there a version of Microsoft Digital Image Pro for Windows 8

On Windows 8, I want to edit and retouch my photos.  Is there a new software or application that replaces Microsoft Digital Image Pro?

    Hi Tecox45,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I would like to inform you that Microsoft has stopped the production of Digital Image Pro, and there isn't an app store for the same thing, too.

However, on the good side is several new software developed by Microsoft that thwart the features of Digital Image Pro.

    Take a look at this:

  • HP Officejet 6500 e709n: restored computer, 6500 e709n parameters are fine, but Digital Imaging Monitor wants to reset the printer

I recently had to restore my desktop computer.  I have reinstalled the digital imaging monitor.  The printer works well, programs on the computer can access it fine, but I can't use the digital imaging monitor, he wants to reconfigure all the settings and requires that I have reconnected the printer with a USB cable.  Is there a way to get around this?  Or I have to go hunt a USB cable and go through all that mess even once?

    Hi @jjustjjo,

If you want to use the SUN, you will need to use a USB cable to reconfigure the printer.

I hope this helps. Have a great day.

  • disable the loading of my digital imaging monitor starting

I want to disable to load at startup HP digital imaging monitor. Is it possible and how can I do?

    I use an inkjet all-in-one 3680

Of course, if it causes problems, you can always return to a normal startup upward. This is what is happening to them if you deselect an itam in them you are selective and not normal startup. Normal would be with services. So as long as you do not have any other sideaffects of selective startup, its ok to leave it like that. If you have any questions, simply go to the new normal startup :-)

  • What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7?

What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7? I want to remove the icon from the task bar (toolbar in the lower right corner of the screen) that I never use it.

Picardjc wrote that "Digital imaging monitor is part of the HP software that communicates with your HP printer. This program allows to read the inklevels, get an out of paper message, scan from the device to the computer and so on. It is not necessary, but it will restrict the use of printers if you delete. "Understood. But for my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a, what is the purpose of having the digital imaging monitor icon in the taskbar Windows7 sp1 of the Notification area (aka system tray)? My A809a is NOT an all-in-one that includes a scanner; It is simply a very good printer. When I start to print something, if you need ink or paper, that information is displayed on the screen of my computer. So I ask again: why is the icon of monitor digital imaging on the taskbar? I clicked on at the time of this icon (I not print anything, but as usual, the printer is turned on), and nothing happened. R.N. (Roger) Folsom _ P.S. below I'll post some other discussions (with links to their locations) of the digital imaging monitor, I discovered before finding this site on which I am writing. There are a variety of opinions on what makes the digital imaging monitor. HP Digital Imaging Monitor is for HP director system tray access. This is necessary if you want to use the buttons of all-in-one on a HP printer all in one to scan documents or transfer photos from a camera manually. Closing the icon monitor HP digital imaging in the Windows system tray can cause the HP all-in-one to lose part of its scanning features and not the connection error message. In this case, you can restore all functionality by restarting the computer or by starting the HP digital imaging monitor. [Edited] 03/08/2011 14:05 - edited? 03/08/2011 14:08 Yes, it is safe to remove. In my view, it is usually in the program group under start / all programs / startup. Simply navigate under the Start button, right-click on it and delete! If it is not there, then remove it from the registry: run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete it from the list in the right pane. If she is not there, then try hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run it's better than using msconfig and uncheck it. In my opinion, msconfig must always be set to Normal startup. Your printer will always print without that annoying obstructive utility called Digital Imaging Monitor. Ciao! • ONLY install the driver of HP Digital Imaging

I have a Photosmart C6180 AIO and do not want to install all of the software on my PC HP suite. I installed only print driver, and that works very well. I am able to scan from my PC by accessing printers built in app scan (via browser). However, I would be able to undertake analyses at the printer and it seems that this can be done with HP Digital Imaging Monitor installed. Is it possible to install this without installing the full suite of HP on the PC drivers/software?

If you want to be able to scan from the printer, then please install HP Solution Center. Who will send a list of programs to the printer, where you can choose where you want to scan to.

  • Deleting files from the Digital Image Starter Edition 2006

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to remove files from the Digital Image, Library 2006 Starter Edition.  It is in such a mess with files for all my music files, Readme files and many other files that have no photos or videos.  I tried everything to remove these including uninstalling and reinstalling without the time, but it keeps always pick up these files and is therefore very difficult to find the image or video file that you need.  I want to delete all the files in the library and implement only the image and video files, which I need.  Can anyone help please?

Hi volunteer J - I found the POD PD3 file, but when I go to change the type of file to the FORMER, he said that changing a file extension can render the file unusable.  I have copied all the Microsoft file along with the POD file, but wonder whether he should actually do this.  Advice please. -Thank you

    ===============================================================
It's just a standard message warning... If you renamed the file back to Pictures.pd3 all
would be as it was before you it renamed to Pictures.OLD.

Of course rename will make it unusable, but it's what you need to do if you want to delete the library.

Renaming or deleting the file Pictures.pd3 will force the Digital Image to create a new Pictures.pd3 file.

If the warning message affects you... try to rename this OLD_Pictures.pd3 way

I guess that you know, that the Starter Edition is only a 60 day trial version?

  • What to use for the PNG - 24 format because we have no Microsoft Digital Image!

Adobe has its own version of the open source transparency PNG called PSD. Haughty! For sure, this is why Adobe is so special. But what most of us who use and share the PNG Alpha standard? Microsoft has been more favourable standards when it marketed Microsoft Digital Image® with remarkable support for the standard PNG-24 or PNG Alpha format. But now Microsoft has left our market go to * in a handbag, dropping support for Microsoft Digital Image.

Refusing even to advertise a new program to manipulate and develop better, more professional in our world image format!

Really too bad. Really terribly sad. We remember all that weird menu 20-40 clicks in blind abominations of Adobe, took just a few clicks, accompanied by beautiful visuals colored across Microsoft Digital Image Pro.

We are crying and sobbing and screaming in anguish, Microsoft! Please come home! Where are you, genius?

    Hi Mark,

    A couple of options...

I suggest you do a Bing search engine for third-party software program to fit your needs. (remember to watch where/what you download from third party sites)

Can also may want to check with the forums dedicated to this type of software, and not here in answers.

My last suggestion is to speak with the real Microsoft Tech support to ask these questions. Remember that the only employees of MS here are those with a Big Blue Microsoft tag under their name. The majority of the members of the community here is not used from Ms.

3 - Click on the button '+' and add a slideshow from the menu.

    4. double click on the sideshow button to enter the mode of construction of the slide show.

    5. in the media pane click the Photos button.

6 - click on iPhoto and find the album you created with selected images.

    7. Select all images in the album and drag to the left in the slide show window.

8 - Select the transition for the slideshow and the time for each slide on screen

9 - follow this workflow to help ensure the best DVD video qualty:

Once the project you want it save it as an image disk via the menu file → save as Disk Image . It will separate from the process of encoding of the burning process.

To check coding mount the disk image, launch a DVD player and read it.  If it plays OK with DVD, encoding is good.

Burn burn to disc with utility disk or toasts to the slowest speed (2 x - 4 x) in order to ensure the best quality.  Always use higher quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are recommended in these forums.
