  • I want to add another hard drive to my computer pls HELP

OK, so I want to add another hard drive for my windows xp, 512 MB of ram and 32 GB of hard drive and it's a Dell Dimension 3000/desktop PC.

How can I get a new one, how do I know if it is the right type, where I'd get a? Thank you for your help :D

You look at the manual of your system, see what kind of connection there / what lead types/sizes it can manage and buy appropriately.

However - given the age of this system - I'm just down, buy an external USB drive and use it.  You will eventually be able to take to any machine use - including the one that replaces the one you have.

  • Transfer my hard drive to a new computer.

I bought a new computer, and I want to transfer my hard drive on my new computer, so I can't transfer files, 1 and 2 to expand my space even more. When I installed the hard drive from my old to my new computer and boot from the old hard drive it breaks down and a blue screen on me, the blue screen does not last long enough for me to get this information. Can someone help me get my harddrive is over?

I don't see any info regarding what computer or OS.  Installs Windows will do exactly as explained when moved to another computer dissimilar.  Need information on the old hard drive, start the operating system that came on the computer and then try to watch the news on the old hard drive.  Do not expect to be able to run all the programs that are installed on the hard drive of old.

  • I want to move my hard drive from a computer with a motherboard dead to a newer machine. The activation process for Windows XP SP3 failed.

I want to move my hard drive from a computer with a motherboard dead to a newer machine.  The activation process failed.  How can I get the operating system XP Professional sp3 reactive?  I have the code original and other info.

original title: Moving the death machine drive

    Hello CarrolScott,

The activation problem arose because the hardware on your current computer does not match that of the hardware on the machine whose mother is dead.

The best option for the reactivation is to use the telephone line. This, unfortunately, is automated and may refuse to turn on your system; However, don't despair just rest on the line after the automated atcivation crossed its procedure and you will be transferred to a real person. Tell this person you've done, and it should be able to help activate.

  • I want to replace my hard drive with an SSD. I is a SATA drive, but do not know the type.

I have a model m9373.me, an office, built in 2008. I want to change my SATA hard drive for an SSD, but I can't know what the active drive SATA type is. Should the new disk SSD be SATA I, II or III? How will I know?

Here are the specifications of your computer has HP Pavilion Elite m9373.me-. According to specifications, your computer is shipped with 2 x 750 GB drives (3.0 Gbps) SATAII 7200 RPM hard. Depending on the age of your computer, it supports the SATAII specification. Any SSD you buy will probably be a device SATAIII (6.0 GB/s) and will be retro-compatible with SATAII ports on your motherboard. Note that the SSD will only transfer data as fast as allow the port of the motherboard. You won't get the full implementation of the SSD in this system.

You have a hard drive partition to do - but you would need to contact/see the FAQ from the hardware manufacturer (HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) to see if and how.

Otherwise - you might have to order (pay for possibly) the factory restore/recovery of the value of the manufacturer.

  • How can I make the best use of a new external hard drive and a new catalog full of photos just loaded into Photoshop elements 14 Organizer?

How can I make the best use of a new external hard drive and a new catalog full of photos just loaded into Photoshop elements 14 Organizer?

Keep all the files on external hard drive image?  Nothing else and no pictures on the desktop?

Keep all image files both places?

What is the best way to go through thousands of images in the Organizer to identify and place them in files?

Once I've placed a file, I just leave it in the entire catalog or a way indicate to me that it has been sorted?

As overwhelming, any tips/shortcuts/schemes, you can offer are welcome!

As I only have the version of the EP, here is some info on the organiser:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop-elements/how-to/use-elements-Organizer.html

Independent of how this feature works, you want to have your photos in one place and have a backup (second copy) somewhere else. All hard drives will not be successful at some point - some more early, some late - never trust to have your files in any safety devices if they are on a single disc. Once you have your sorted, it would be useful that you will organize/name/tag new photos immediately if the task is relatively short and simple. I copy my photos on my internal hard drive for my camera, take a quick look with preview to see who needs some changes and then decide where to put them - either drop them immediately after naming them or bring in an editing application and then file them away.

  • Replacing the old hard drive to a new hard drive

    Hello!

need help, I replaced my HARD drive with a new... How can I reinstall the existing operating system?

What Type of format should, I used?

    Laptop model:

    HP Envy Sleekbook 4

    Windows 8 x 64

The problem is that the BIOS key Code is Windows 8 and that you have installed Windows 8.1. The embedded key will not activate Windows 8.1. If you want to do this for free and use the key that came with the computer, you must install Windows 8, activate it (or it is activated) and then move to 8.1 by the store. Or just buy a key for 8.1 and use it to activate the installation you have.

  • How to move data from the old hard drive to a new operating system, games, songs, vista etc.

you want to install more hard drive. How can I move all of the data, os, games, music, etc.

    and have computer always starts.

    Hello

You cannot move by themselves programs

you need to reinstall it from the original media

read this about moving everything, including the operating system

or save your data and reinstall clean vista

There are different ways to do

hard drive manufacturers will normally provide the cloning software to move your operating system installed from the old to the new hard disk

Search for information on this subject on their Web site

If you have vista business or ultimate, you can use the builtin vista complete PC Backup to move

    read the information below

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial145.html

or if you have vista home version you'll need 3rd party software

link below is an example of this:

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage/index.html

also to put your machine how you bought:

    1. that vista is preinstalled, you should have a recovery on your old hard drive partition

You can recovery disks to reinstall on your new hard drive

ask the manufacturer of the machine how

    2. contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    3. or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • I want to spend my hard drive of 160 GB to 500 GB.

I have Vista Home Premium and want to transfer everything to the new drive.  I have a portable HARD drive for backup, so I can transfer files in this way, but how do I put Vista on a new HARD drive? I have the Back-Up/recovery discs for my computer. Would this work to load Vista? The original Vista authorization number would work with the new HARD drive? I want to upgrade to Windows 7 at some point, but I'm not ready to convert everything immediately. Thanks for all your help!

Manufacturers of hard driver usually the cloning software to do the complete job to move the files and the operating system on a new hard drive.

Alternatively, use your recovery disks to reinstall Vista.

Means recovery disks, ones the manufacturer gave you at the purchase or you asked to do.

    See you soon.

I have windows 7 installed on my laptop. I want to format my hard drive. Should I buy windows 7 once again as I format my hard drive?

Im doing just because my computer is slow and its time to format the hard drive... so I need to wipe it off, but I don't want to lose windows in the process

If Windows 7 is pre-installed on laptop, Mike instructions don't you will lose Windows 7. If you bought Windows 7 separately and allows you to format the computer, which also does not let you lose thel travel when you format the drive from your installation disc.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.
