• Is there a way to make a new layer of a selection by simply dragging?

  Recently, I watched a video of an artist working and I swear that looks like it's a selection lasso on a smart object layer, drag the selection and immediately created a new layer of the selection only. He was successively to the parts of the sample of an image for later use. I can't understand for the life of me how he did it, and I can't find anywhere that the PS has this ability. On the one hand lasso an area of a dynamic object does not allow me to reproduce that selection, PS is like I want to duplicate the entire image, if I hold down the ALT key. Also, if I try to make a duplicate of a selection to a layer non-smart object I can duplicate the selection by dragging in now ALT, but the duplicate is always on the same layer as the original object, which is NOT what I want. I know how to use copy and paste, so please do not suggest that I have to do this, OR use the CTRL + J I am just trying to understand what makes this person. If it makes no sense to me, I can provide a link to the video...

  Perhaps you missed to copy it paste because he used the Ctrl + C Ctrl + V shortcuts that would not be seen in a video. It would look like a brake in a video...

  It has been suggested to me that a way to test the integrity of your masks is to create a layer as a background job, a really strong color like pink or neon green, so that you can easily see if your white (or pink/green) is sneaking through you mask

  Problem is that I can't figure out how to create this substantive work.

He practices the company base on internet usage, storage of base directory, login, etc... I want that last page of a form that I fill to contain their user name, password, telephone etc... I've implemented the shape makes a .pdf file and used the form designer to implement the fields I want to have active. Now I don't know what to do. I deally, I want save a copy of the file for each user in a network folder, with their information on this subject, and the form fields locked after I'm done. I've been playing with the distribution of forms and appear not to do what I want, looks like it creates a single file with all the different updates. I want possible, or can I just keep the shape of the United Nations distributed and open / save for each user and hope that they erase their data?

  Yes, for what you want to do create the form in Acrobat is the best way to go. Here are a few tips.

  1. to flatten the page that contains the form field, use the flattenPages method. It is documented here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.466.html

  So to flatten the last page of a document, you should do something like:

  Convert fields on the last page to the other content

  flattenPages ({start: numPages - 1});

  At the moment I just a single layer that I am trying to select a portion of and then new layer by cutting. Once this new layer is selected, I have to reselect the original layer before you replicate this process again.

  Not a new layer will become the current target layer in Photoshop. It that way forever and a lot of things relies on this.  If this was changed it would brake a lot.  The best thing you could do is an action that would do what you want to do and make a shortcut you can use instead of "new layer via cut."  The action would simply make a new layer by cutting then the Alt + [Select layers backward step.

  There are several ways to do this and here are just two of them.

  1. If you want to make a new image, you can right click on the channel, click on dual channel and less Destination > Document, select new

  I get rather belatedly faced with the new system of interpolation introduced in CS4.  To be honest, it was a nightmare, but I'm starting to see its good points now.

  One thing that always makes me crazy is when you create a new Tween and Flash creates a new layer for you and puts the interpolation inside.  Why?  And how he stop?  During an animation of 10 min with a lot of preteens I could end up with hundreds of layers!

  It creates a new layer when you have selected. This is because you can not interpolated element and non-interpolated on the same chassis (you can have non-interpolated elements on the same layer, but not shared image - as with any interpolation).

  If you don't want to create a new layer, make sure that all is selected on that frame and it will create on the same layer.

  I have been working on an image in PS and I have a number of layers.  First of all, several adjustment layers.  Then I do various clean ups (especially with the cloning tool).  I make a selection and then create a new layer.  I'm on one of the layers again, I made a selection to move a part of the image, hit command-J but this time I get the error message: "could not make a new layer from the selection because the selection is empty.  I understand the error but what would you suggest to go ahead?

  You realize that the Board is in fact the background, and that new layers without content allow you to see through to this context?  You can fill the background with white, or you can disable the grid in Preferences > transparency, but all that will do is make each new layer appear to be filled with white, except that you will be able to see through the underlying layers.

  You must save it as an image (png, jpeg, gif).  You have imaging software?  If you have a PC, you should have the Paint program in your accessories.  You can paste the screenshot into it and save it as one of these types.

  I don't think it's a shortcut that can be redefined as such in the command Editor, but you could use a script and assign a keyboard shortcut for the script.

  The following script will make a new layer without the dialog box.

  You can copy the above script, paste into Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS6 , and then save the script in the cs6 Presets > Scripts folder in the program folder or the photoshop cs6 application.

  Then when you restart photoshop cs6, it should appear under file > Scripts and you can use the keyboard shortcuts Editor to assign a shortcut to the script.

  I have a file (on a Mac) that contains all the data for a book: the file x.indb, folders for each chaphter, that also contain images for this chapter.

  I want to make a new version. Using the operating system I duplicated the record, he gave a new name, changed the name of the x.indb file and began to make changes.   What I want is a "clone" of Antiquarian Book: all the files copied with links to new files from X.idd to the new X.jpeg files, etc. I want an exact copy with consistent internal links that have nothing to do with the old book. I want to be able to remove the old book and don't see any effect on the new book.

  It's easy. Just use book (Panel) > package book to print... It will copy the book, INDD files, and all related images, and it will update all links

  to point to the new destination.

  If, however, your goal is not to change the images linked, which is I think that the situation of RodneyA:

  I do this all the time (each new edition of a newspaper), and I find it easier to simply create a new address book file and add the copies of documents chapter. This way you know all the links are correct.

  There is an easy trick. Copy the book in the file system, if you wish. Then temporarily rename the folder that contains the old book and page layouts (they are in their own folder, right!). Now open your copy of the book and to ensure that all working documents. They will be updated to point to the new location (copied). Then rename back folder of your original book to what it should be called.

  This process forces InDesign to search for files in the book when he can "find in their original path. Which is what you want.
