I want to migrate to WIN7 64 bit OEM install a 120 g SSD (o/s disc)

My hard drive to 500GB / 4GB system RAM is fine; no problems. It gets saved on the 1 TB ext drive regularly. I just got a SSD equipped today and want to the o/s through the SSD, and my skills pretty modest pc/tech are stretched 'headscratching' territory, just read around to try to do this without Windows7 on disks. Just by the by, Samsung 830 SSD series came with SSD programs magician & Norton Ghost 15.0 (I know nothing) if they are a help. I'm ok with everything be wiped if necessary, so that makes the process easier. Oh... I have the sticker on the side of the box Win7 product key. So I guess I'm after the best recipe to make my life boot from SSD and install all the progs out there also. See you soon!

instead of doing a clean install of windows, you can use the back up and restore functionality built into windows 7 to create an image of your current configuration sytem, that you can use to transfer everything to the SSD.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-a-system-image

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/4241/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-Windows-7/

After you have created the image of the SSD, you will want to create a system repair disc to start the pc from

Once you have created the image, you can swap the HARD drive out for the SSD and use the system repair disc to start the pc, after which you can install the previously created on the SSD system image.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

The situation is simply. If you check the market of PC and laptop, you will see that new products will be offered with operating systems 64-bit.
So, the production of software goes slowly in that direction.

Toshiba offers all new notebook with 64-bit operating system, but also provide you with the 32-bit version if you feel comfortable with it and if you want to use some software not designed for 64-bit operating systems.

Your laptop comes with the HARD drive recovery image and if you read s manuals you can find info you need to create own recovery DVDs.
This can be done with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. The shortcut for this tool, you can find on the desktop.

So, before you anything please create this installation disc. After doing this, you can install the 32-bit version and use so long desired.
When you want to have the 64-bit version to use the new created the recovery for the installation disk.

I hope you now understand how it works.
If you have any other questions please let me know.

If Yes, then you should have access to Volume License Service Center (VLSC) where you can download Windows 7 Professional 64-bit volume license media as appropriate. The same product key used to activate Windows 7 Professional 32 bit should work with the 64-bit version. Everything you change is the architecture.

If you have a retail copy of Ultimate, you can use the button to do an Anytime Upgrade - all files and programs will remain on the computer.

Upgrade Express using a key of already purchased the retail Pro/Ultimate

In Windows 7 Home Premium, type Anytime Upgrade in search programs and files box on the start menu, and then click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can enter your product key for Windows 7 Professional/ultimate retail (full or upgrade) and perform a simple upgrade. Online Anytime Upgrade is not available in all countries. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

  • Win7 64 bit on Satellite A100-646

    Hi all
It is possible to install Win7 64 bit version on laptop A100-646?
I think that the support from toshiba (drivers) for this OS is not complete for my 'old' laptop

    Thank you very much
    Concerning

I m afraid 64 bit is not supported, but you can try to install it anyway and check what are the missing drivers. Maybe some drivers for A200 and A300 can be used.

I also saw that A100 (PSAA9E) is supported for Win7 32 bit. Install the 32-bit version. It's Ok, and I hope that it wil run on your laptop. I use 32 bit on A300 and I m very happy.

You cannot install Windows 7 upgrade on a blank partition.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

Try the following: on the Windows 7 machine go devices and printers folder, add a printer, a local printer, create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the actual share of the computer and the printer), OK, and then click Windows Update, and then select HP Deskjet 5600 Series (HPA) (HP).

  • Satellite L500D - 11 p & Win7 64 bit

Hello everyone I just bought the Toshiba Satellite L500D - 11 p Notebook PSLK3E-00N00TGR with a Win Vista pre-installed 32-bit & 64-bit. I want to install my own OS Win7 64 bit. First of all, I hate Vista, then I want to use 4 GB of Ram on this point, so I need WIn7 64 bit OS. But his Support Page of the driver:

    NES http://de.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=de&mode=allMachi & action = search & teddProduct = 856 & selShortMod = 892

There is no Win7 64 bit drivers for L500D - 11 p. Will there be a period of time, or is there another possibility Toshiba itself will correct that emit little, oder pourrais I just use the 64 bit Vista driver for Win7 64 bit OS?

    I don't know why there r Win7 32 bit drivers, but not Win7 64-bit available.

Specification of the material of this Satellite L500D - 11 p is almost the same with respect to the following model:

    Satellite L500D-144,
    Satellite L500D - 13H,
    Satellite L500D-14W.

These 3 NBs have preinstalled Win7 64 bit. Can I use instead their Win7 64-bit drivers? As I said that Win7 64 bit OS is preinstalled, similarly, 64-bit drivers but the drivers download page there are also no Win7 64 bit drivers for these 3 NBs. How is this possible, if they have even their all preinstalled and work? I'm a little confused, maybe more than just a little. But if the 64-bit r only preinstalled and working, where did you get em Toshiba or going where I get them and how much better, where will get 64-bit drivers for Win7 for my Toshiba Satellite L500D - 11 p?

    > These 3 NBs have preinstalled Win7 64 bit. Can I use instead their Win7 64-bit drivers?
    Of course you can do!

You can try all the unique drivers that have been released for other series as well.
I mean, in the worst case that the pilots would not work, and you wouldn't be able to install it
What do you have to lose?

In my opinion you should try it.

  • Qosmio F50 - need to update the BIOS in the order of installation Win7 64-bit

    Dear community,

    I plan to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. My laptop is Toshiba Qosmio F50 - 10 M with a VISTA32bit preinstalled.

Is it necessary to update the prior consent of BIOS install the new OS? I read that there is a BIOS update Fa? ¼r VISTA64bit available, but none that I discovered for Win7 64 bit.

    Can give you a hint?

I am confident and happy to own a laptop as powerful but this not filled OS named VISTA makes me nuts more in addition to reading all these great reports about the benefits of Windows7!

Looking forward to read your welcome responses

    Yours,

    Hello

Is there a BIOS for Vista 32 bit and 64 bit.
There is no special Win 7 BIOS.

If you want to install Win 7 64 bit, I advise to use the BIOS for Vista 64-bit. If you want to install Win 7 32 bit-> choose vista 32-bit BIOS.

Generally, it should be possible to upgrade the BIOS under Win 7 so, but because that it s a BIOS for the Vista operating system, I recommend upgrading the BIOS in Vista.
