  The CC 2015 system requirements require OS X 10.9, or a later version. You must update your operating system in order to be able to use the application.

  If you have licensed Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, you will not be able to install/activate first Pro CC unless you purchase a subscription to creative cloud as CS6 and CC are 2 different versions of products.

  Having had an online chat with Adobe, they have taken control of my mac and came to the conclusion that it was a permissions problem. They advised me to repair permissions with disk utility. I did and it did not work.

  They also advised me to create another administrator user account, it worked, however it is not convenient switch to another user account.

  In the end I did some research and found this solution.

  If you right-click the hard drive icon, info, unlock the padlock at the bottom and give full read & write to (your username (me)) it will ask you if you want to apply to all the files, I said yes.

  It took a few minutes to complete and then voila, I could open up, no problem.
