• IdeaPad Y400 keyboard broken after installation of Ubuntu. Sent in, Lenovo has sent back still broken.

  I have a Y400 Ideapad, purchased in December 2012, delivered with Windows 8. He has recently due to a malfunction after trying to install Ubuntu as a secondary OS. It was very difficult to get installed Ubuntu because UEFI and Secure Boot really tried to stop him, but I have finally installed it and the two operating systems, has been working for about 24 hours. Then, Ubuntu was able to start. On several occasions. Then I started Windows and it seemed that he was working again, except that from time to time when I tried typing, the keyboard type keys I had not touched and then stop responding for about 30 seconds.   I really need to solve this problem, but I'm doubting the capacity of Lenovo to do, and I don't want keep it will send if it simply means that I won't have a laptop for 1-2 weeks and then I'll get it broken back yet more.   Turns, the Y400s have a defect. If you select always "on USB" in the BIOS / menu UEFI, it messes up your keyboard. I have activated it when I was trying to get my computer to recognize a USB boot.

  This laptop is around the age of 5 months. While I was looking through the web suddenly the keyboard does not work. Because of this, I tried to restart my computer. And for some reason, a Novo button Menu appeared. I tried to press on enter (because it is already highlighted on Normal boot) and he used. Then I remembered that my keyboard does not work!   I recently did a clean install on my new SSD and now I can not find driver OneKey Theater for Lenovo Y580 Windows 7 x 64. Any ideas where I can download it?

  The point is that you have installed windows OS in the language of the Netherlands, but the laptop uses the UK keyboard layout.
  Therefore, change to a different language keyboard layout if the keyboard is set to the language of the Netherlands, then you should change this to English UK!

  Go to control panel-> regional and Language Options-> languages-> text services and input languages tab, click details

  There you can add or change the language

  My apologies if this has developed before, but I found nothing during a search. I bought the L655 computer laptop (PSK1NE) in October with Windows 7 HP and all recently I noticed a problem more and more frequent with the mouse and keyboard that goes with the computer touchpad portable & k/b and one mouse USB k/b. The focus seems to jump around especially in IE9 when you try to type in the form. If you are not looking at the screen while typing it becomes annoying, because you look up to find that half of the sentence suddenly moved and is currently seized several lines far where you started among previous typescript. Sometimes, when you click on another window or program it seems to be inactive and no amount of click with the left button will generate any action, but by using the right button on the mouse or the Touchpad, this seems to correct the problem. Restart seems to help a bit but then the problem returns.

  I have read similar problems in the United States where they have a V2 of the BIOS, even though I have the latest version of the BIOS update for Europe 1.6, it suggests that this is a problem and not unique to my laptop or adjustment.
