Ideapad Windows 10 question sleep Yoga 13

Hey community,.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and so far no big deal don't except this one:

Where two users are connected at the same time, and one of them closes the lid to enter standby mode, Yoga restarts instead of go to sleep. This happens only in the case that more than one user is connected to Windows. This was fine when I was using Windows 8.1, but has stopped working in Windows 10.

Another small issue: Yoga is not tablet mode are the request, folded in the tablet. Automatic screen rotation works fince btw and keyboard is well off in tablet mode. But 10 Windows does not recognize it.

Advice, especially on the first topic on the eve?

PS: 10 Clean of Windows Installer, default BIOS, Windows default power settings.

OK people, I hear.

I dug a little deeper into the event viewer and encountered some issues with the Conexant Smartaudio device. Uninstall all the drivers for the audio device and instead use the default windows drivers seems to fix the problem.

This is may be of help to someone else.

    Hello

I have just upgraded to Windows Enterprise 10 with clean install.  I used to use Softpaq Download manager patch my drivers on previous versions of Windows, but now I see only the subset of drivers for Windows 10. I tried to research forum if someone had questions as I have but has not been able to find.

This is when I press Fn + F3, 8570w actually turns off without going into standby mode, so I can quickly return to work when I need.

BIOS is on the latest version of this model, Windows is patched as well. No idea where to look?

  • Satellite C50D - A - 13N - Windows question sleep mode 8.1 alarm

    Hello

I hope someone who knows more about than me power management can help!

I bought a C50D-A-13N Satellite a few days ago and it was fine.
However, I had a problem with the mode 'sleep' a couple of times.

The laptop goes into mode 'sleep' as expected (when the lid is closed or when I press the power button). However, when I press the power button to turn it back on, it comes to life for a few seconds - the screen is on and I can move the mouse and interact with other things - but backwards past mode after a few seconds. All I can do to make it work is to close completely by holding down the power button and restarting, I REALLY hate to do.

The laptop is fully charged and plugged or unplugged happy.

Everyone knows about this problem in Windows 8.1 front?

    Thank you

On my laptop, I use the same settings but when I close the laptop lid goes into sleep mode. When I opened the laptop lid starts automatically without using the power button / stop.

    Hello.

Talked with Support and unfortunately, this seems to be a matter of HW.

Given that I've owned only the laptop for less than 31 days I received a full refund/replacement code.

I would say that anyone having the same problem, contact technical support and advises because that is the question to support him rather than S/F.

  • Question sleeping on all new Satellite Pro U500-1EX

    Hi guys,.

    I have a new Satellite Pro U500-1EX with Windows 7 64 bit.

The laptop is having some problems with its function of sleep. I wonder if others have had the same problem - and if anyone knows anything that can be done.

    OK, there are two questions;
    1. when the laptop enters sleep mode - it will come out it its own after a while. He goes to the login screen and wait about another hour before falling asleep. That's when it is plugged into the power - and no LAN.

    2. when I close the lid to put the laptop into standby - and while on battery - after awhile he will supply any. Connect the power supply won't do anything - the power light not at all - which suggests that the laptop don't even note not be plugged. I have to then remove the battery and turn the computer on (thus losing all the data that I had when I put the computer to sleep!).

So, have you seen this issue with your satellite pro? This is something common and being ignored - or y at - it an easy solution for it?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Audette

    Hi Audette,

I have the Satellite U500 also but I can t notice any question about fashion 'sleep'. It works perfectly with an OS preinstalled Toshiba and the latest version of the BIOS. Then perhaps you need to update the BIOS as suggested Timox.

Before you begin the update, close all running programs (also, AntiVirus and firewall), make sure you are logged in as administrator and do not stop the computer being updated.

By the way: you use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba?

  • Windows 64 bits on Yoga 2 compressed

I just bought a Yoga 2 tablet with Windows 8.1.

    It has installed 32-bit Windows. I have a few questions;

1 would work Windows 64-bit? My technical skills are a little rusty, but if I found the Windows registration/product key for my installation, I could do a 64 fresh Win 8.1 install using this product key?

2 does anyone know why they decided to install 32-bit as the default value? Maybe there is a problem with 64 bit? I know that the CPU is 64-bit, so I'm a bit confused why they chose 32-bit.

    3. does anyone have an opinion on the upgrade of Windows 10? Don't you think that it will offer the choice of upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10?

    Thank you guys.

64-bit OSes would not work without one update of the bios on tablets of Baytrail T. Microsoft got several bugs with interruption / resumption on windows 64-bit so, manufacturers send their products with 32-bit UEFI BIOS disables use US 64 bit processor with 64-bit operating systems (linux, windows, android...) some people managed to run android and linux with a few things , but it's hopeless for windows without an update of the bios or someone to build an image coreboot

  • Power management & random question sleep/put into hibernation

    Hello people!

First of all, I'm an administrator COMPUTER experienced, and I've owned 6 Thinkpads over the years... the machine in question is today a Thinkpad W530 (K1000M, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD Intel, Windows 7 x 64, latest drivers and BIOS).

I had a weird problem where out of no where, and while on battery, the computer will go to the default mode ' uh oh, battery runs out, record everything! Aka, if Hibernate is enabled, the computer will be in hibernation. If I disable Hibernate in Windows, then the computer go to sleep. So the problem is same, and for other symptoms can present as "hibernate without warning" instead of "sleep without warning.

In any case, this occurs sporadically and often at times that bothers. The first few times, I didn't know what has increased, but I looked into it a little further now.

Immediately after this forced sporadic "sleep" / "hibernate" happens, I checked the event log:

    "

    The system to sleep.

    Reason to sleep: battery

    "

Now, obviously, this is no good. I was a little confused the first time I saw that as the power manager, or the built-in Windows gauge showed low battery. And after that I take for sleep/hibernate mode, the battery is still fine.

Today, however, I only found a major clue. This time, instead of simply jumping to a sleep/hibernate event, I got a low battery critical Windows popup warning first, and looking at the Windows battery meter was shown left 7%, even if Lenovo Power Manager gauge showed a little more than 50% left. Almost immediately after, he does it is sleep and I wake him up once again, and of course, as always, the battery level returns to normal.

If long story short, it's a pretty serious battery level report bug somewhere in the drivers of power? Or is it a bad battery? (And if that were the case, why only Windows reports the State of the intermittent dangerously low battery, Lenovo Power Manager no?)

Just curious for some feedback, otherwise, I'll have to start RMAing parts, or even the entire machine. Of course, having Windows sometimes think that the battery is not about to die is not acceptable. Imagine if I was doing something critical and decides the computer "uh oh, battery low time.» close it as soon as possible! ».

Yes. Define your event of critical battery doing nothing. It is a workaround, but it is not too bad workaround.

  • OfficeJet 4630: HP 4630. Message offline and windows 8 questions

Hi, am a 4630 all-in-one. fashion 'sleep' something mobile (iPhone, iPad or android tablet) wakes up it and it prints perfectly. PC, however, is another question, he wakes up not at all. Even when her awake, we still sometimes get a printer of saying error message is offline.

This isn't the end of the problems. When we finally get it to print something the PC it will no print and a half pages, spit on the printed page, half with an error message saying: it has been a problem. Doesn't mean what the problem is.

Please help, its been my head now. What we want is a printer that prints, we never had any problems with HP stuff before and it's just incredibly frustrating, especially when my son tries to print working from home.

Please help, before he found a window!

    Hi there @ricfrench!

Please contact us on the HP Forums!

I see that your Officejet 4630 does not only when printing from your computer running Windows 8.  I wouldn't advice the former on the method of the window.  If the printer is capable of printing from mobile devices and test stand alone as a photo and then copy the firmware and hardware in the printer works properly.  Looks like you can have a light software or a firewall problem possible cause.

The first thing I recommend is to uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.

  • V7-482PG-9617 10 Windows crashes on sleep

Hello... I tried to search the forums and do not see an answer to this. My apologies if someone has answered this question and thank you if you could point me in the right place.

I had an upgrade my V7-482PG-9617 to Windows 10. Whenever I install, automatic updates would go and I would get a dpc_watchdog_violation every time that it starts. I ended up doing a clean and rodding installation drivers from the Acer support page in the machine before I let it reboot. That seems to have solved the problem at first, but now when he sleeps on the battery, it crashes. I tried many settings in the power settings, but can't seem to bypass.

Does anyone else have this problem? Solution?

    [deleted inappropriate content]

I'm a little late, but since you have a mobile haswell 4500U, you must use the the Interface Windows driver Intel Managemnt 8.1 as a workaround so it will not crash when you put it to sleep or he falls asleep. It's a problem of incompatibility/known w / driver Intel MEI version 11.x (and driver Turbo Boost).

    Help, please!

    Hello Parker_Jones,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

There is a possibility that this behavior might be caused by a program not allowing the computer to wake up properly. Take a look at the article below and see if you can troubleshoot using the information contained in the article.

You can also use the mode without failure as a troubleshooting tool to determine the program that could be the cause of the issue. I've included the first part of the article below so that you will know how enter Mode without fail if you didn't know already. Please see the link to read the full article and complete troubleshooting.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

  • Windows 7 weird sleep behaviour

Instead of jumping right on the issue, give me a minute to explain the situation carefully. Please don't TL:DR it and respond with unnecessary answers...

I had a very old install of Windows 7 (fully updated) installed on this computer. I mean really old, the installation date was December 25, 2009, I was forced to reinstall all recently, what brings me led to my question.
Whenever I put it in sleep mode, the computer you only some processes to dump the disk before sleeping, considerably reducing my consumption of RAM during the recovery, I'm talking way about 1.5 GB to 700 MB or less with steam and Skype running in the background after putting to sleep, it was really useful , but I don't remember what I did to windows to get it than that. At first, I thought Optimize tab of Wise Registry Cleaner has been the cause of it, but there do not have the same effect after trying it again. Then I thought it was the WinUtilities Optimizer Memory, well that was not the case either... Now time for the question.
Is there a way to get windows to behave as it did with either A) 3rd Party Software or B) Edit Windows? If so, HOWWW?
To justify this behavior was normal, I have another old installation of windows that does the same thing. It wasn't just a matter of time, it seems to be repeatable, given two of my machines did it, I don't remember everything I could have done in the last 3 years to make it to act that way. It seemed normal to me.

  • Bootcamp Windows 10 question

    Hi all

Stumbled upon a problem, try to install Windows 10 an end 2014 27' iMac w/retina education runs Yosemite 10.10.5. Bootcamp is V 5.1.4. 32 GB, 3.5 ghz Intel I5. Disk of 1 TB of Fusion. Before you try this, I read the guide of Bootcamp to install windows, but also a number of other tutorials and forum messages about potential problems. This research, I learned that for EDU edition you must change the name of the file from Win10_1607_Education_English_x64.iso to Win10_1607_English_x64.iso. Apparently to have the former name of the file may cause OS X to not recognize the ISO. That fact I started Bootcamp, waited while the software downloaded and created a bootable USB key and partitioned my drive giving Windows 70 GB of space. After that, I got the message that my computer is restarts. Upon restarting, I got the black screen with the blue Windows logo and a spinning loading animation. After a few minutes, a blue screen with a message "Windows has encountered and error with computer and must restart," or something similar. He was pretty quick, so maybe it's not word for Word, but it was not a helpful post in terms of saying something specific. When the computer reboots, I am sent directly to OS X, though a bit slower than normal. I tried to restart with the flash drive to see if the installer would start up, no dice. Try now the Option key at startup, the flash player is not available. Went into my settings to see if I could change my startup on Win disk install USB, no luck it no more.

Now for the question: How can I get the Windows installation again? What I have to start the process, and if so, what should I use Bootcamp to delete the partition that was created? I have re-run Bootcamp and the only option that is checked is the partition and start and install/uninstall windows and delete the partition.

    Thanks for the help.

    Perform the following two procedures

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

If you use a USB drive, not a USB flash drive, you will have problems. It is recommended to use a 8-16 GB USB2 flash drive.

If the installation program is located on a USB Flash drive, stop your Mac, connect the USB key, restart and hold down the alt/option key and select the Windows icon in the USB port. This installs Windows in BIOS mode. If you click the start EFI icon, it will install using the EFI mode (faster). You may need to change the partition from MBR to GPT using GPT Fdisk.
