  • IdeaPad Y510 heat problem

Hi, I'm having a problem of heat on my ideapad Y510, I've had it for about two years now. The specifications are

    Intel core 2Duo 2.2Ghz

    2 GB of Ram

    NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

I updated to Windows 7, recently, the laptop has been getting very hot when you use it to run demanding processes, so hot that I can't place it on my knees or rest my left hand on it (the left part of the computer gets hot) or I get burned after a few minutes. I would like to know what I can do to avoid this problem.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks

The first thing, check the accumulation of dust in the cpu radiator

    and clean.

Unplugged and with the battery, remove the large Panel on the bottom

    to check it out.

Also, make sure the fan works.

  • Unable to boot from USB in Ideapad Y510

    Hello

I bought Lenovo Ideapad Y510 4 years. My DVD ROM has stopped working after 1 year, although I used it rarely. In addition, my screen hinges also be is spare. So, I have extened by 1 year warranty and replaced the hinges and the DVD ROM.

I also thought to replace my battery backup was only 80 minutes or so, but they say its good.

    Now the real question: -.

My DVD ROM is still once does not work as expected. I use Windows XP I installed 1 year when my DVD ROM worked. Now I tried to install Windows 7 using USB tool windows and many other tools, even I tried via the command prompt.

I changed my settings in the BIOS and 1st priority to USB, but no luck. Although, I installed Windows 7 on the PC of my friend using USB, but his does not work for me.

Now, I want to install Windows 7.

    Could you please help!

I suggest that you use the microsoft windows for toop Usb/dvd for this. It is preferable for you to use. Also, you could use Novicorp WintoFlash. They are considered to be the best.

After a few months the hinge broke again and also the battery dies completely (no charge at all). When I try to call lenovo about this problem, they ask the serial number on the laptop that I looked down and see no numbers, it only shows the number of model. I don't know it was like that from the beginning or not. I never noticed. But now without the serial number they record not my problem. How can I get a solution to this problem. How can I check that Lenovo still the problem of hinge cover and battery for my laptop problem. Is there somewhere else, I can see the serial number for the laptop. ?

  • Lenovo Ideapad Y500A does support SLI?

I really want to understand if this model supports SLI? I mean not integrated double 2x2gb but with different optical drive. I mean 2 GB PC and 2 GB with optical drive. I'll connect and tell me if its support SLI. Thank you!!!

    http://www.Varle.lt/nesiojami-Kompiuteriai/nesiojami-Kompiuteriai/Lenovo-IdeaPad-y500a-I7-3630qm-4GB...

It gives... Memory card: 2x2gb GDDR5, dual NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M graphics

The Y500 comes with a second 650 M in the optical drive. This means a few things

    1. you will not have a DVD/CD player to use on the laptop (you can always buy an external)

    2. your laptop graphics and power games will be about 1.5 x as having 1 graphics card

    3. you will have 4 GB memory graphics, 2 GB of the here already to 650 m and 2 GB of 650 m, into the ultrabay slot

  • graphics compatible with ideapad y510, Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit NVIDIA driver?

I reinstalled my ideapad with the new windows 7 64 bit. Everything works fine; the requirements for my video or graphics card. I have nVidia graphics (perhaps Geforce 8600 or somethings like that). But after that I got this new win7, older drivers are useless. However, I managed to find the sound and other drivers and are easily installed. I have a big problem to find the video drivers. All the drivers I downloaded so far from intel and nvidia have failed. If someone knows about it, who have gone through this problem too, here to help me find the right driver for my computer, I would be very grateful.

    Try this:

Please, after back if it works.

  • No Wifi connection after the installation WIN7 on Ideapad Y510

Upgrade to a larger hd and win7 Home premium. Installation went perfectly except for one thing - no wifi on intel wireless wifi link 4965ag. Convenience store shows the NIC 'not connected' and fails to pass 'association test' on a wireless proset software. Lenovo introduces only the drivers vista and xp for intel 4965ag. At Intel site, ran its Analyzer and he finished best driver installed, I had.

This is my thread at M$ this wireless connectivity problem is HUGE in Win7.

I also posted on the Intel website, a helpful reader suggested I try here at Lenovo.

Anyone having this problem when upgrading to win 7 and how you solved it would be great! I've been working on solving this for 3 weeks and I am puzzled. Thanks for any help. Matt125

Ah-Ha! Conductor of energy did not work. Don't know if deployed correctly. M$ did not win 7 compatible with Intel 4965ag backward. SOLUTION: BUY A USB WIFI! THIS PROBLEM SOLVED NO WIFI CONNECTIVITY. USING MEDIA LINK USB WIFI. SOLVED. THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS!

  • Question about the Y510 AHCI drivers for install XP

    NiHao Lenovo Forum,

I am a proud owner of your IdeaPad Y510. I just wanted to ask what the web page offers Lenovo the AHCI storage driver to activate the storage controller SATA on the motherboard for my laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Y510?

I ask because Y510 as many users who install the XP will need to have these storage SATA controller drivers if they want to support higher speeds, hot plug and native command queuing (NCQ).

I see that Lenovo provides the following AHCI drivers for ThinkPad found here:

    www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/MIGR-62909.html

Also, it would be useful to let everyone know that Lenovo Y510 models come with what advice system that they have, with regard to the necessary SATA AHCI Controller driver for them.

I see the ThinkPad models use Intel 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller or Intel 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller as indicated above from the URL.

How can I check my Y510 to know what Intel SATA AHCI Controller is necessary here?

Some clarification would be useful. Thanks in advance for any help and assistance here.

Also another method here would not create an installation with the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers slipstreamed XP disc? And how does a person know which of the many Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers should be slipstreamed to the pilot Y510 AHCI SATA Controller here?

And how many different models of Lenovo Y510 uses different system boards? Think there are at least two, because some have been announced with a FSB 800 MHz right?

Thanks for any help and support here in advance.

Read the FAQ some might answer your questions.
Also, I suggest that different motherboards are in different models, as I said there are even different colors - green and Brown motherboards there. Brown, I saw myself - those who are ASUS, green are unknown for me.
Then, NCQ is not a feature of driver software. It is a material of HARD drive capacity to optimize movement traectory leaders to speed up the read/write process. So, no driver is required to activate. This work iven in the BACK.
AHCI driver is inside driver chipset. Also, you can integrate it. Please, read the FAQ .

  • problem with webcam

    Hello people!

I return my ideapad y510 about a month, and without a doubt, it is a wonderful machine. I got no problem with it - until now.

I recently tried to install the camera such as a webcam with yahoo messenger. but the mail app always gives me a message: webcam not connected and I can't make it work anyway. I tried different version of yahoo messenger and I even uninstalled the driver for the webcam (via Device Manager) and reinstalled the latest drivers on the lenovo support site. but the camera continues to refuse to work as a webcam.

I would appreciate any help. Please guide me how to configure the camera to be used as a webcam.

    Hello!
Thanks for the solution, but for me something different has worked and I fell on it just by chance - I went to the center of the shuttle and I reset all default settings in the settings of the tv tuner card.

It beats me how it worked, but it worked, and now the webcam works like a charm.

    Cheers!

  • Bad BIOS update question, bricking of laptop with Lenovo site

    Hi all

Heat up some way for a first post,?

I'll be brief, because I'm not in a good mood at the moment.

Because I'm a fool, I decided to update the BIOS of my Y510. I went to Lenovo website and began to enter "Notebooks & Handhelds" > "IdeaPad Y510," 7758 for the type (I think it's the only one listed).»» There was no number 7758-Q__ on my laptop ANYWHERE (including box) and the auto-detect application says "INVA-LID" (lol). The type is actually 15303 (which is an option if you go to http://consumersupport.lenovo.com, but the problem is it true, too).

in any case, I downloaded the update to the BIOS 06CN29WW. I ran it, but I noticed when I was in the utility EasyFlash, it registers the current version as being the version of 21/04/08 06CN30w be a fool and not to think to much of it, I flashed anyway. On reboot,.

"No device detected wireless network support.

    The system is shut down.

    Large.

I removed the wifi card (and this is the original of the wifi card, too) and it starts right up.

Here's the problem: I can't find the right BIOS (06CN30WW) file ANYWHERE. The last update on the lenovo site (http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/lenovo/drivers/2412/893.html) is 06CN29WW (21/03/08), but its listed as 21/04/08. 06CN30WW is 04/21/08; the old version is listed on the Lenovo site as new version by mistake.

If someone who has the power to bed this, please Please update the download the correct version. Until then, my laptop is either unusable or captive via ethernet (that sucks).

Hi, I googled your problem and the second link (http://tianyi.it168.com/viewthread.php?action=printable&tid=520805 , it's in Chinese), I found a link to the 06CN30WW. ROM file (it is in fact on this page: http://tianyi.it168.com/viewthread.php?tid=520917&extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Dtype%26amp%3Btypei...). The site requires you to register to download, and I don't know if you read Chinese, I downloaded the file here:

    http://www.Megaupload.com/?d=36YJM3I7

You should be able to use the same method update the BIOS as described above - http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/lenovo/drivers/2412/893.html , but also opt for the new version of the. ROM at step 6.

    Hope that helped.
