  as I noticed latekly, my left hinge of the LCD Panel is damaged. This means: it s not REALLY broken but is not really attached to the laptop more. The functionality is still there, I can open and close my laptop with no problems.

  More: My keyboard is a little damaged for 3 years now, the Enter key is not set, too.

  Now my questions: guarantee is no more and so, how much do I pay around to fix these two problems. It would be worth the cost or not?

  I recently sent my laptop for repair Flextronic (Solectron) for a problem with my LCD. On the screen LCD, about 50 grey dots appeared near the Center. They were not dead but pixels spots on the back of the Panel. Before you send the laptop, I checked it and found a crack near the left hinge. I'm on this R51 like a baby and it is in perfect condition with no mark or scratch on it. I noticed the hinge was loose for a few months, but I never checked the cause of this. Now, on the crack, what I noticed is that he depart when I lift the lid and it remains extended as long as the lid is raised. The hinge clearly pushed on the plastic and I am 100% sure that this is what caused this crack. I got a call two weeks after receipt of my laptop in the repair center. They said that they would replace the LCD, but they would charge me $140 to replace the base... I fight with them since to get this base replaced under warranty. I paid for a 3 years guarantee of the site and they don't even offer me the on site service I paid for... I've been without my phone for 3 weeks now and I find it very frustrating.

  First tried the best route, new inverter $4.89, but the problem persisted.

  Replace the LCD ($65,75) and the problem is solved.

  First of all, check that Windows is configured to do something when the lid is closed. Perhaps, it is set to "do nothing".

  I think it has a magnet near the LCD that triggers a sensor in the base (and possibly the motherboard).

• Satellite L850-P13 - no backlight after replacement Panel

  Hi, I cracked Panel. Sister felt on nightmarish and sit on the screen while the computer on couch fully open the cover and the machine didn't work. A leak under the layer of glass crystal. His soul left to heaven. Sister is OK.

  Yes it's OK, the darker scree are certainly not a driver problem.

  AFAIK the L850 series was equipped with various billboards.
  Some were equipped with a sign supporting the side light CCFL (a fluorescent cold cathode) and some were equipped with the fire side of LED (LED backlight)

  I would like to replace the generic icon with an image which can visually identifies the Panel even when it's minimized.

  1. In Eclipse, choose window > Open Perspective > other > Adobe Extension Builder 3.
  2. Right click on your project, and select Adobe Extension Builder 3-> Bundle manifest Editor.
     This editor allows you to change the properties of your extension
  3. Bundle Manfest editor > leg Extension (bottom) > tab User Interface (back to top).  Images used .png and it worked.

  I have a Pro Satellite L30-101 and the screen is blank. I got a new inverter, but it did not work. I activated the screen from another laptop the converter and the backlight is ok and I could see my office windows.

  I think so that either the cable is broke just the inverter cables (rest of the perfect screen) or that I do not get the tension you want the motherboard.

  If you are thinking about upgrading the processor, you will have another motherboard, since the CPU is soldered in the X-Series.

  Add more RAM and replace the drive HARD by an SSD will bring many improvements to performance. If you need CPU power, you need a new plane or you will need to switch to a new generation of X-Series.

  Also you could pass the Panel LCD 1440 x 900 (as long as you don't have it yet). There may be also possible improvements to the wlan and wwan card.
