IE8 and Parental controls no more internet

I have an acer espire running vista 64-bit. I reinstalled the State completely new factory. ATER passes through all configurations of windows to start, I can access the internet. I add new users to the computer and everything is still fine. As soon as I activate the parental control and Setup for a child commands, no account cannot access the internet. Audit to tell local networking and internet, the network icon shows and the internet. Some programs cannot access the internet. Ive tried to delete new users, but still no internet for the admin account that is left. Any ideas, thank you very much,

Perform a restore of the system so that you are able to access the internet, then try to install the Windows Live Family Safety update, as I mentioned before and after implementation, test if it works properly or not. David

  • Management of user accounts and Parental control in Windows 8

    Hello

I'll post a thread on how to manage the user accounts and Parental control in Windows 8.

A user account allows you to connect to Windows 8. By default, your computer already has a user account that you have been
needed to create when you configure Windows 8. If you want to share your computer, you can create a separate for each Member of your household or office user account. You can also choose to associate any user account with a Microsoft account. Signature with a Microsoft account will bring all your SkyDrive files, contacts and more in the start screen. You can even connect to another computer that has Windows 8 and all your important files will be there.

Here is a video on how to manage the user accounts and Parental control in Windows 8.

Also, here is a document showing you how to manager Our user on Windows 8.

If you have any questions let me know.

  • Java and parental controls

I just started the parental controls on an account for our young children. I have all authorized programs and blocked all sites but listed (on Mozilla Firefox). One of the sites listed as authorized will not load a java applet to play a game. The chess.com site and all parts of it work (with ads blocked) but the window the applet. When I run Firefox as administrator on the account of the children the game works very well.

How do I let my son play chess?

    Hi Bitz_a,

You can temperorarily disable UAC (User Account Control) settings on your children count and check if they can play the games on the websites and if it loads correctly. Subsequently re-enable the UAC settings after checking.

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result. Access the link below and follow the steps to disable UAC.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

This problem may occur if the Internet Explorer settings are corrupted on your computer. You can optimize the settings of Internet Explorer by default on your computer and check that it works very well. Access the link below and follow the steps to optimize Internet Explorer.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936213

Also to reset the Internet Explorer settings and check if it helps. Follow method 4 in the article above to reset Internet Explorer.

Hope this helps and let us know the result.

Hi, just found this diet and it's the same problem I am having except it will not open 'command (admin) prompt' and , says "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. "Please install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel '

The "regedited.exe" does not work with the Manager tasks and the laptop itself does not all programs.

    Help, please.

    Hey Callum,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    (a) the question has started happening recently?

    (b) you did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

    (b) is connected to an administrative user account?

As you are unable to open the general system utilities in Windows, the issue that may arise due to file system corruption or corruption of the user profiles. To further diagnose the problem, I suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Try to run a scan of the file system (CFS) auditor to check corruption of system files in the system. SFC scan will search for system files corrupted on the computer and fix them.

    1. Press the Windows key + X, click prompt (Admin).
    2. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

For more information, refer to this link:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

Create a new user account, and then try to reproduce the problem. Let us know the results.

To create a new user account, see the following article:

  • Windows security for the family and parental controls not update/refresh when you change curfews, no matter what I do

I have windows 8 and 7, two different computers. When I change a curfew on the WFS Web site, our computers do not receive the update and do not allow access monitored accounts. On the 7 machine, I go to Windows Live Family Safety Filter, hit the icon refresh at the top right and a popup says I already have the last parameters, or FS settings have been updated. but in no case can the user log on. When the monitored user tries to connect, a message says "your account has time restrictions... ».  What's wrong???

    Here are the parameters:

  • parental control for windows and IE8 lists

could you tell me where to find lists allow/block for access in ie8 Manager and parental control under accounts of users and parental control?

    Hi pavilion_alex,.

For Access Manager, see the following: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-use-content-advisor-in-internet-explorer-8.html.

For Parental control, see the following: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-Parental-Controls.  For each category, there is a tracking link that provides details on how to manage this particular aspect, including where are the lists and how block/allow access.

Windows Live Family Safety 2011 allows you to manage remote parental control - but not really adds additional means to block or allow.  You can simply access computers remotely to do what parental controls can do this on the local PC.  Here's where to find this program: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-family-safety?os=other.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Parental Controls + Internet Access Policy 'Add' is shaded on

I need to add several new devices to my "target devices" in the Parental control-Internet access policy and program schedules that devices can get online. But my 'Add' is shaded out and I'm not allowed to add devices. I use the browser to log in to the router.

To manage access to the Internet, you have two methods available, Parental control and Internet access policy. That a method can be used at a time. So my first question which option you are trying to use to block or plan the Internet access?

As the Parental controls can restrict internet access for up to five computers or devices. You can block access to the internet or to limit it to specific times, and you can also block specific Web sites.

So if you have several devices then 5 to add then you should use the political Internet access option.

  • Parental controls does not block the proxy or VPN servers for access to *.

Our teenage son found a way around Parental controls by using proxy servers or a personal VPN. I tried to add more sites to the list of blocked sites, but there seems to be hundreds of them. Is there a way to stop this exception taking internet access completely? He also said that all he has to do is ask a friend for some and they will send email * to him.

  • A new version of the parental control is available. We recommend that you update the PC of each Member of the family.

When I connect to the Windows Live Family Safety website, it shows the opinion (in the title above) recommended that I upgrade to a newer version.  Next to this notice there is a link that says... 'install and set up parental controls'.  When I click on it to try to upgrade to a new version, need me a Windows Essentials page where it says nothing about an update.

An attempt to update, I clicked on the symbol "Refresh" in the upper right corner of the programs parental control on each of the monitored computers, and all say they are refreshed and updated.  What is going on?  Why he continues to say that they all need new versions?

PS. I am running Windows XP and control parental version 14.0.8118.0427.

    Hi Placebo12,

We are happy to assist you with your concern. I understand that you wonder why the message shows up on the Family Safety website.

The notice comes when it detects an older version of the parental controls installed on your computer. The latest version should be 15.4.3555.0308 for the 2011 version and 16.4.3505.0912 for the 2012 version. Since you're using the 14.0.8118.0427 build that is the 2009 version of the parental control, the site detects it as obsolete. Please note that the only Essentials 2009 version can be installed on Windows XP.

If in the cases, it affects services and parental control functions, please let us know if we can help you.

    Thank you!

  • Mother cannot remember password for parental control

original title: administrator password - parental control

We are in a difficult place. My mother cannot rememberher. admin password and parental controls block a bit. I read on a clean reinstall of windows, but I'm not able to download anything because of the controls. To make things worse, we do not find the windows vista installation CD. We were stuck trying to crack this password. Is there something else we can do?

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the strategy of microsoft in these forums is that without assistance will be given about lost or forgotten passwords

read the policy at the link below

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/keeping-passwords-secure-Microsoft-policy-on/a5839e41-b80e-48c9-9d46-414bc8a8d9d4

    to reinstall vista:

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

  • Parental control time limit set at 24 hours by mistake... cannot go beyond login.

Original title: restriction set at 24 hours a time... error cannot go beyond login.

We have windows Vista Home Basic.  There are 2 user ID in place, it is not used and nobody remember the password.  Another we know the password. However, my son put the limitation on duration of parental control to 24 hours by chance and we can no longer access the computer.  Whenever we tried to enter, we get the message of time restrictions.  Please let me know how we can get around that we can not get the menu system/controls.

What you wrote is not logical.

As said by Umesh P, moderator, you need an administrator account to set the time limit.
And parental controls can be set on an administrator account.
This means that you must have an admin account, you can log on. If you are the admin or in possession of an admin password.

  • Parental controls for Mcafee randomly disable/Internet and network are not protected... click on fix that everything becomes right guard, but the problem continues

Not sure if there is an error or a breach of security on my system, but my Mcafee Cox Security Suite client will say sometimes randomly the Parental control has been disabled, and the network firewall and Internet has been disabled and must be fixed. When you click on fix, the problems will go away, but sometimes the Protection status check will reappear do later me wonder if someone attempts to access or attempt to take control of my computer in some outside way. Using Windows Defender and Mcafee Viruscan I found nothing so far, however in one file past a Nakido.exe was found and attempted to remove, it is no longer, but I seem to always be able to find traces of the file on my computer, which makes me wonder if the Trojan horse still has limited access to my computer and try to manipulate items and just has not been detected yet.

Try to contact McAfee Support for assistance. But before that try one of these:

    (1) Windows Update
    (2) try to install the latest Service Pack
    (3) ensure that your compatible version installed in Windows otherwise (ask McAfee upgrade option to the compatible version)
