Parental Controls + Internet Access Policy 'Add' is shaded on

I need to add several new devices to my "target devices" in the Parental control-Internet access policy and program schedules that devices can get online. But my 'Add' is shaded out and I'm not allowed to add devices. I use the browser to log in to the router.

To manage access to the Internet, you have two methods available, Parental control and Internet access policy. That a method can be used at a time. So my first question which option you are trying to use to block or plan the Internet access?

As the Parental controls can restrict internet access for up to five computers or devices. You can block access to the internet or to limit it to specific times, and you can also block specific Web sites.

So if you have several devices then 5 to add then you should use the political Internet access option.

I know that I can add them, but I can hold it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Communities,

I understand that you want to remove the account Parent you are watching and another Member of the family to monitor the account value.

I want to let you know that you can not replace the primary parent in family safety. First, add a family another parent counts on the safety of the family and then delete your account.

You can follow this thread for more information:

  • RVS4000 - Internet access policy

Is there a reason why I can't change access restrictions allow?  I can not add anything in the blocking of Web site by URL address or Web site by keyword blocking.   I can not type anything in the fields.  I tried to restart, even other computers and other browsers, but nothing seems to work.  Any idea where I went wrong here?

The router supports the rules allow or refuse, but not both. Once the first refusal rule is configured, the router assumes that all unspecified situations are allowed.

  • Question EA6500 Parental controls or restrictions on access

I leaned on this router, I woujld would like to know if I can activate the Parental control or access restrictions to block an address IP or MAC; 03:00 - 06:00?

    Instead of midnight to 06:00.

My E4200 works great, just would like to know if the EA6500 can do?

    Thank you

    Chris

Yes, you can block a device on the network to access internet from 03:00 to 06:00.

Excerpt from the screen I just took of my EA6500:

As for blocking by IP address or MAC address directly, no, you can't, you need to select it in the list of devices, but from what I've seen, you must do so on the E4200 so it's nothing else.

There are expierencing problems people with their device on the EA6500 lists, but I rarely had none since fimeware some updates there and generally to refresh the page or by clicking the Refresh button on the page, correct those when they happen to occur. (In my case).

And in response the the second post, although it is only apart wireless and unrelated to parental control, the EA6500 has MAC filtering:

  • Internet does not work after you set up parental controls.

I just create a new account and set up parental controls for it. Before I did the internet worked, but after you have configured parental controls, internet would not just work for my desktop which has a direct line.  I have a router and even after, the wifi signal and internet would always work however my line connection direct wouldn t.  I continued doing to solve the problem and start system restore, but every time I tried to set up the account with the internet parental control just doesn't work.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Can I set parental controls on firefox for a specific user only?

I use windows 7 and firefox 18.0.2. On my PC, I have my Admin account and my account of children. Now they arrive at an age that they are requiring Internet access for projects and so on, I wonder if I can put parental controls on firefox (by add-on?) as I have on windows, while master's log in to their account, firefox only allows access to what I received. In other words, limit the use of internet ONLY for their account, while I'll still be able to use firefox without restriction. I don't want to use another browser that I ' m not as familiar with just so I can put a parental control over everything on this browser. Any ideas?

It did the trick. You can restrict any program or browser to their liking. Although I do not have someone else (Microsoft...) do it for me, it works as should be for now. Thank you for your time!

  • parental control for windows and IE8 lists

could you tell me where to find lists allow/block for access in ie8 Manager and parental control under accounts of users and parental control?

    Hi pavilion_alex,.

For Access Manager, see the following: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-use-content-advisor-in-internet-explorer-8.html.

For Parental control, see the following: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-Parental-Controls.  For each category, there is a tracking link that provides details on how to manage this particular aspect, including where are the lists and how block/allow access.

Windows Live Family Safety 2011 allows you to manage remote parental control - but not really adds additional means to block or allow.  You can simply access computers remotely to do what parental controls can do this on the local PC.  Here's where to find this program: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-family-safety?os=other.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Need help with internet access on a Linksys E1200 strategy

Hi, I have an a Linksys E1200 (Firmware Version: 2.0.01), and September 13, 2012, I configured the Internet access policy to deny access to internet for 4 devices between the hours of 22:00 and 08:00 on the evening of the school.)  It was working fine! I was very pleased.

Over the last weekend, the electricity was launched for a second, the power was back on in 2-3 seconds if. The router comes back online, and everything seemed in excellent working condition. Then Sunday evening (considered to be a night of school in our House) at 22:00 the router did not refuse Internet 4 devices as it normally did. I logged into the control panel admin via a browser web, and checked access to internet strategies, I configured last week was still configuration property.

Everything was always configuration property to deny access to the internet for 4 devices Sunday night/Monday morning between 08:00 and 22:00. I checked that the router has the date and time. But the router is not always deny access as it was setup to do. It worked fine before the weekend, and then after the weekend it stopped working the property. The only thing I can think of this month of may of the cause is 2-3 seconds, the power went out then came back on. The router is connected through a surge protection.

Then I set up the Internt access policy week last to deny access to 4 devices on the night of the school between 22:00 and 08:00. I waited 24 hours to make sure it worked, after that it worked, I got the router send me a backup of the config file. I tried to use it to solve this problem, but it did not help either.

This is a screenshot of what looks like my Internet access policy. I had to create 2 policies because the router has refused to create a policy where the end time was not later than the start time. Anywho, so political #1 is from 22:00 to 11:55, and policy #2 is from 12: 00 to 08:00. This Internet access policy is configured to deny access to 4 devices between midnight and 08:00 Monday morning. It was working fine last week, so I'm 100% positive that it is the router.

The following screenshot is the status information to show the date and time of the router is correct.

So the router was Monday morning @ 03:00, the router has an active policy of internet access to deny the device access to the internet, the router had recently worked flawlessly to do this, but for some reason any, that he could not do this morning?

Can you please explain it to me or provide me with free software to "lock" the internet for specified devices. I really want to have to stay until 22:00 5 nights a week, so I can help my daughter sneaking online when she should be in bed. taking his phone and the laptop is not an option.

Thanks for reading, forward a reply as soon as possible.

    ~ Tony

Hello. I think that Yes, too, that it is a router problem. Just to isolate it, try to update the firmware and then reset and reconfigure the router again and use the same policies that have worked before. On Cisco's Web site, the latest firmware for version 2 is 2.0.04. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1200. You can use the links below in the public KB site of Cisco.

  • Help for the parental control on Vista administrator account

Computer of my son is running Vista and I set parental controls in place through the administrator account, there a nonadministrator account.

I changed the password after that we had a few problems with the controls, and now I want to change the settings again. However, the old password allows for parental control (IE, he allows his account access websites and bypass control, etc.), but when I try to access the administrator account, it says the old password does not work. When I enter the password, account says I don't have the login procedure and kicks back me to the main screen of Vista (where I take which account to enter).

So, I'm stuck administering the account due to a conflict in the parental control passwords. If I try to reset the password, the computer ask me a USB stick with the old password on it information. It is a step that I did not.

Any way to disable the administrator account? Or somehow remove/reset the parental control account access restrictions that I am experiencing?

"when I enter the parental control in the non-administrative account, the system simply ignores the password that I entered"

I suggest you read this info below on who has access to parental controls and how it works:

  • RVS4000 DHCP Internet access

Hello community! I hope someone can help me understand why my RVS4000 router does not allow access to the Internet. This is the DHCP enabled with IP address of 10.10.1.50 and Maximum number of DHCP users 100, so 10.10.1.50 - 10.10.1.149 starting. Users receive IP between 50 and 99 have internet access, but the foregoing 99 has access to only the local network. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? The previous range was 50 and I reboot the router after changing the range. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Christel,.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community

From your problem description, I understand that you are not able to install parental control. Please let me know if you do not experience this problem.

    1. which antivirus program is installed on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
I suggest you to disable user account control settings and check if that helps.

Enable or disable the User Account Control
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off
Note: Once the troubleshooting has been completed, make sure that you enable the user account of controls back on.

Method 2 : I suggest to disable all antivirus and check if the problem persists.

    Disable the antivirus

  • PSE10 - how to get help online on PC without Internet access?

    Hello

Our company bought several licenses of Photoshop Elements 10 and I would like the installation of packages in order to be able to install it with SCCM (formelly named SMS) on PC.

The question we have is that the PC in our society do not have Internet access, so users cannot, after the installation, download the online help... and since there is currently not out included help, it means that they have no help at all.

Can you let us know where the aid in question is copied when it is downloaded, so that our packaging team will be able to download these files from a PC with Internet access, then add them together, so that our users will be able to read the help (F1), even if they have no Internet access?

Thanks a lot for your answer

Yes you can do so by changing the settings in the Adobe help Manager

    Open Adobe Help.exe location: c:\program files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe help

Then in the prefrences download section, you can select the products you want to get offline help

In the update section select manually

In the section "local content": select the product, and then click UPDATE

When using offline is downloaded, and then in the general section, select Yes (this will make the default value of local aid)

Now if you can switch to offline mode and press F1 in the program, it will open local help

    It could be useful!
