Try to close Internet Explorer, then:

    Double-click Internet Options.

If it runs for a long period of time, try to restart your computer and do the steps above before you open Internet Explorer.

  • TV tuner and quickplay... and IE8 problems?

With apologies, I would like to say at the outset that I tried the HP forum but had problem browsing on its Web site (in the contract, now I understand how perfectly formatted microsoft answers forum site is).

In any case, just in case readers or our technicians can help, here is my problem: when on-air digital (ATSC) established tuner of TV Wizard auto searching for available channels, quickplay stops working after 13% (sometimes 33%) of the scan and then occasionally freezes IE8 necessitating disconnection or restarts. (Analog antenna scanning for channels perfectly, but not digital)

This TV tuner (hybrid) works perfectly with Media Center.

    I'm running Windows Vista 64 x.

2 months ago DEP began to close programs, any program, all programs, at the start of about 3-4 programs will be immediately closed and it usually takes 2-5 tries to get another program to run.

I've been a losing battle, trying to find the cause of this, I downloaded nearly every free anti-spyware/malware program out there. I have been looking online for other references to this same problem and I can't find anything. Windows Security Essentials and Privx are not the root of the problem.

Did you change programs such as suggests? If it is those who are likely to be of much
the question as too many antivirus/antispyware programs will cause strange problems. Even
their remains can cause weird problems.

  • IE8 causing explorer.exe to freeze

Original title: need to constantly end explorer.exe and restart after using IE8 because I can't click on the desktop icons

About 5 times a day I have to end the explorer.exe process, then start it again because I can't click on my desktop icons.  I also started having a problem with my IE8 does not correctly load JAVA (maybe too much flash).  The program hangs and I have to go into the Task Manager and terminate IE8 or wait for narrow reboot or wait so that he can answer window to get to the end and restart the program.

These could be two different issues, but it seems that after IE8 crashes so I have to end explorer.exe.  Unable to click on the desktop icons began before IE8 problems, but are increasing in frequency and seem to be coinciding most often.

Can someone help me?  I run my Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus program. I tried to clean a disk and defragmentation, but neither helped.

OK, so I've implemented a new system and I can't get firefox to work directly on it. It closes for no apparent reason without a crash message or anything. • Hotmail blocks browser when the composition or the respondent.

    Hello.

I am also having this problem on 2 computers of peoples. The common thing only seems to be Vista in my case, although I have heard that the problem may occur in Windows 7. They have different anti-virus and now use different browsers. We use IE8, (problem after upgrade to IE9), and we used IE7 but now use Firefox.

The accident occurs only when you attempt to dial or answer an email in Hotmail.

The problem started when the engines were running in Internet Explorer, but this could be a coincidence.

I tried the browsers from disabled modules.
I've updated the Flash to the latest version.
All the service packs and updates to Vista are installed.
I tried to disable the antivirus software.
I've updated to the latest versions of both browsers.
I installed different browsers on both computers, (Chrome and Opera).
I also tried the system restore.

The problem occurs if you connect to Hotmail through Messenger or just a browser window.

The problem ONLY occurs with Hotmail. No matter what other web-based mail system.

The first computer is a Toshiba laptop Tecra A9 under Vista SP2 1.5 GB memory, SATA 200 GB hard drive
The second is a tower of emachines under Vista SP2, memory 2 GB, 150 GB IDE HDD

I guess from what I see it is theme 25 (or one of his relatives there)? Can certainly duplicate this theme 25.

    https://plus.Google.com/photos/104459804528712563956/albums/5847964722134039761?AuthKey=CPGhjNi7rNf0Jw

Confirmed on IE8 and 9. OK work on IE10 and any other recent, I tested on Windows, OS X and iOS.

    The involved CSS rule is:

    input.lovButton.hotButton {
      ...
      background-image: url('data:image/svg+xml; base64, D94bWwgdmVyc2...'); /* Encoded SVG truncated for forum legibility */
      ...
    }

Which explains the IE8 problem because it does not support SVG background images. Cannot identify what is the problem with IE9 as it should support it. (Likely to be a browser bug: in the way it handles the complex cascade of the rules in question, or by the combination of the properties involved.)

APEX point of view, I would say that the user that this problem is just. It is certainly a problem of accessibility because that made the contrast ratio of the button text in the background is 1.1:1; well below the WCAG guidelines. In addition to the rule for the SVG gradient background image, the CSS theme should include a rule of background color of help for browsers that do not support SVG backgrounds (or mysterious problems their display). It is common when you use advanced CSS backgrounds.

So there is an easy solution to add the rule of rescue definition of Page HTML Head Popup list of values of the model, after the substitution string #THEME_CSS # :

  • Problems with redirection page badly giving-OK in IE8

I have 2 files to redirect visitors to a monthly photo page. http://ILS.org.au/PRD.htm and
    http://ils.org.au/prd.html.
The two files are identical, but the htm file redirects to the photo page last month instead of the month page.
He has worked for months and works fine on another computer with IE8. He also works on this computer with IE8.
It seems that the htm file is stuck in the cache and is not charging.
I use Firefox 6 with Windows XP

Visitors will probably mostly be visitors first and notice not or be affected. But I think it's likely that you have changed this redirect page later and you are using the cached version before you can specify non-cache. To avoid these problems on your machine, I would like to clear the cache at the end of a session, and it's the only thing that I want to erase.

You can clear your cache immediately (now) with

  • Problems of SP2 and IE8

It's a messed up problem: I installed the SP2 of Vista the other day, and for some reason that my Windows Update tells me that I need to install again.  This second time said however that SP2 is only 6MB in size.  So I installed again (successfully). After a few moments my Windows Update screen will tell me again once I need to install SP2 (version 6 MB).  This repeat after some further tests.  The strange thing is that when I have 'View Update History' or check "Install updates" it tells me that it has been installed.  When I check my 'system' in the 'Control Panel', he says that I don't have that SP1 is installed.
The other weird thing is that IE has been completely removed from my computer and after having downloaded IE7 and IE8 nor allows to install. Although "Installed updates" once again said I do have installed IE8.  Yet, it is not in "My programs" or in any folder on my computer.
I feel that my computer is completely messed up because my 'System Restore' has been disabled and all restore Points have been removed.

If anyone has an idea of what's going on with my computer, I would appreciate greatly any help.  Thanks in advance.

  • SP3 and IE8 update problems

Hi, hope someone can help me.  I run a Pentium 4 with Windows XP Media Center Edition machine.  I did the update to IE8 and then install SP3 thing that other people have had problems with.  I had bad too, so I uninstalled IE8 but I got in trouble, others have had with it.  To cut a long story short, I managed to go back to IE7 and recovered my settings for this.  I uninstalled SP3 and got my machine about how it was.  Now I want to install SP3 but Windows update will not propose it me as he seems to think that I have already installed.  The thing is, I want to run this computer in my home LAN, and my son computer Vista can't see my XP machine.  I want to install the LLD file but when I download this fix it install as it says I already have a newer version on my machine, which I don't have!  So it seems to me that I have to get rid of the registry entry, or anything which indicates all of the Microsoft network that I always have these things that I once installed, but no longer have.  If someone knows a way to do it, I would be very grateful for your advice. Best regards, Steve
