• Vista 'Open file location' has stop working after installing IE9 Beta

  My context option 'Open file location' has quit working on all the shortcut files (.lnk).  Choosing 'open file location' triggers WITHOUT ERRORS and seems to not trigger any increase in CPU activity, or I can't detect any change in process explorer, it's just nothing at all.  BUT it doesn't seem to work because he used for the FIRST time (and only the first time) I have choose it from a shortcut on the desktop after a reboot... as long as I do not first open all records.  PLEASE NOTE that this behavior only started in the morning, after I installed IE9 Beta on my computer.

  I use Vista Ultimate SP2 on a box of Dell, Intel Pentium D 3.00 Ghz with 3.5 GB of Ram.

  I rely heavily on "Open file location" to navigate through my system so that your help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. sometimes for all the shortcuts in all folders, including the office.

  2. sometimes for shortcuts related to music files, JPGs, microsoft word files, exe files, and others.  The shortcuts are in several different directories.  It is worth noting that the target location listed in the properties files is correct exe programs will be running, and music or photo files will play/display double clicked.  Only problem is NO way to open the folder of file location of the shortcut target.

  Step 1: Permissions for all folders that I normally use are the same they have been for years, which includes the folders that contain the shortcuts and those containing targets.  They are: 1) the permissions of system-all verified.  (2) MyName (HOMEPC\MyName) - all verified permissions. (3) Directors (HOMEPC\Administrator) - checked everything except special permissions.  The exception being the 'Programmes' to root folder that has no permissions other than read, execute, and list.  Subfolders for individual programs have the same permissions as mentioned above for my usual records.

  Step 2: I uninstalled IE9 Beta and the location of the file open function has been restored as if by magic!  .Lnk file associations appear to be identical to what they were when that was the problem.  IE9 has maybe a bug or an incompatibility in this somewhere1?

  I have a question:

  We had a user who defines the Cisco web-authentuicated WiFi SSID as network Public in the firewall of Windows 7 and when he tried to connect to WiFi, it appears a troubleshooting page and said: "Connection to Web pages are currently redirected to a different Web page."  It uses IE9 beta.  Most likely the browser it's a MiTM attack.

  The concept of web authentication IS a man in the Middle somehow attack... And IE9 is not a browser supported either.

  I don't know what makes IE cause this error exactly well. You have a DNS host name and the certificate on your webauth?

  My personal opinion...
  Any Beta program is expected to have bugs. That is why the label "beta".
  If you are a computer user accomplished and ready to test a beta program, continue to do.
  If you are just a normal daily computer user, you can stick to IE8 at the moment until the SP is set to release 'officially' the product to the general public.

  For your information only, you can uninstall IE9. The system automatically returns itself back to IE8.
  To uninstall IE9: go to programs and features > left column, install the update > scroll to find Windows Internet Explrer 9 > right click > uninstall.
  Realizing that you use Win7. The above procedure should work for Win7 machine.

• Impossible to uninstall IE9 beta

  Help!  I can't IE9 to uninstall through the command-programs/features, or via the DOS command.   My IE is now in a loop, telling me it's broken and it is totally useless.  Fortunately I have Google Chrome for a browser too.  I click ok and the right error message keeps repeating indefinitely.  Before IE9 went belly to me, I had tried several times to uninstall it, STILL get the error message in the Windows Update dialog box:

  "An error has occurred. Not all updates have been correctly uninstalled". ..... Okay, I see that it is a mistake (duh), but WHAT is the error? Also can not re - download IE8 because it is IE9 on my system and go beyond.  And when I try to re - download IE 9 Beta, it says to me that there is a newer version on my system.  Does this mean that this download at a later date, it is an older version? What is happening with this?  What are my options now?  Help!  Please, I beg you!  Just make IE 9 beta now!

• 10.2 beta of GeoPolyline problems - duplicate

  EDIT: Posted prematurely trying to add the source code. Would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction on how to enter a post source.

  As for your problem, is it upward while you work with version 10.1? If this isn't the case, it could be a bad, but temporary, implemented in 10.2, since it is still in beta. If so, they are then a mistake in your code somewhere.

  I have problems with IE9 in Unity view - the content of the window is not properly rendered unless I take the window and drag it around. As soon as the mouse pointer changes (because it is positioned on a link or a text box) the trash back.

  If I switch the unit to the window mode, all is well. I already reinstalled the vmware tools. Host is a Mac Pro (end of 2008 I think - "MacPro3, 1 '), GeForce 8800 GT/512 MB, I use 2 monitors.

  I also have the same problem but I solved it after disabling "accelerate 3D Graphics" with settings.

  Perhaps, vmware fusion 3.1.3 has a bug unit between gpu graphics drivers with ie9 rendering mode.

  The only thing I can think is that my email has been associated to an older BlackBerry PIN, where I used BBM once or twice.

  For starters, my OS is Vista Edition Home Premium, 32-bit version.

  I tried this announcement in the forum of IE, but I keep getting routed to the one for Windows 7.

• Problem with Windows Mail after download IE9

  Since IE9 download, I had problems with Windows Mail.  Like others, I lost the box that says, "some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer.  Click here to download the images. "With my mail, I'm able to get a preview of the e-mail for 60 seconds before it actually opens and this is where the above 'box' appeared.  Now when I preview the email, this box is not there and I don't see one of the photos.  If I open the electronic mail, the box is there and I can click on one to see all the pictures.  The problem/question for me is I don't want to open the email to see all the pictures: I want to display them in preview mode, so I know what I'm opening!  Help!
