  Nirmal S, thank you.  System Restore did the trick.  I restored prior update checkpoint and then the system automatically re-installed the latest update (which is one I had a problem with).  Problem solved!  My computer working again 'normally '.

  I just lost a few hours trying to get a script to run. It threw an error saying that the "object was not valid" I decided to give up, Wen home and later started home again see if I could sort.

  You are probably trying to separate groups that do not exist. Once you separated from everything, there is no groups, so that app.activeDocument.groups.everyItem () is invalid...

  I believe that this issue is resolved in the current firmware, the solution is to connect the passive controller serial and deliver a reboot.   Alternatively, you can remove the passive CM and wait one minute, then re - insert.   Either must clear the error condition.
