If I'm only using Quickweb/Instant Web (never from Windows), do I need protection against malwares?

I refer to the snapshot on software called "Quickweb" or "Instant Web" which comes with a few HP Minis and can be downloaded by other users of HP.

When you turn on the computer, Quickweb loads instantly and allows access to Internet, e-mail, etc., but not software applications or computer players (I think).

To enter in the Windows operating system, you must click on a separate button and wait for Windows to load.

Assuming I ever do that and use only the Quickweb, I need malware protection for my computer? Also, do I need to keep Windows updated?

Thank you.

Yes, my understanding quickweb runs in a sandbox.

If you ever plan to use Windows, so you don't have to do something for her.

The safest way absolute to run an operating system is a boot CD/DVD, in this way, nothing can ever write the OS to permanently infect it. every time that you start from the disc is perfectly clean every time. There are many available just for this purpose small linux distributions.

Sanboxing is safe but malware writers are still trying to overcome the sandboxing on different platforms, it's a cat and mouse game. But since Quickweb is not widely used as Windows, malware authors can ignore trying to defeat.

In the end, nothing is 100% safe.

    Hello

I just upgraded my laptop Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 and also improved my ram to 4GB (2x2GB)

Windows is to see all 4 GB but says only 3 GB is usable, because it is a 64-bit version of Windows wouldn't be able to use all the 4 GB?

    Any help appreciated

    Thank you

    Intel Core2Duo T7200 2.0 GHz
    RAM DDR2 677 MHz 4 GB
    ATI Radeon Mobility X 1600

    Hello

Have you already checked the BIOS? How much RAM show the BIOS?
And what kind of modules you have exactly?

Normally, it should be possible to use full 4 GB of RAM on a 64 bit OS as your laptop also supports 4 GB.

Maybe you should also try updating the chipset driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site.

  • Is it possible to only use the keyboard to move a window on the desktop?

I have a lot of fun trying to do it all with just the keys and trackpad not.  One that I'm missing and it would be very useful would be to find a way to move windows with just the use of keys.  I expect the arrows would be involved, but to do something about the window I want to move.

I believe you can use the best tool to touch (http://www.bettertouchtool.net) to assign keyboard shortcuts to move the windows.

  • Is a security software that I can use to protect against malware?

Is a security software, I can use on my IMac?  I've already gotten ransomware once.  I'm very careful, but I have a couple of hobbies that I use a lot of pinterest downloads (no illegal downloads not!) and I get very nervous with all the new ransomware.  Thank you!

Your brain is the best. No software protection must be used, because they are unfavourable to the own software.

You can however use a tool when you think you are infected: AdwareMedic: http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php

You can also use the following extension in Safari: Scamzapper: http://scamzapper.apponic.com/mac/

But it's always your own common sense which works best.

  • I can re - install software CS6 Design & Web Premium from Windows 7 for my new PC running on Windows 8?

    Q1 is this work?

Q2 How can I get a new key for installation?

It should work.  If you encounter a problem to look at the forums for a solution.  You use the key you already have initial installation.

You are allowed to have two facilities enabled, so you can keep the old machine as a backup if you wish.  If this isn't the case, remember to turn it off before you uninstall.

you need a serial number for mac lr.  the serial number for pc and mac are different.

Lightroom serial number is unique because it is cross-platform: works on PC and Mac.

    Same serial number for both.

It is only intended to upgrade computers running: Windows 7, Windows XP or Windows Vista?

Because your computer is on Linux, you must buy the full license of Windows 8.1 and create a bootable copy if you buy online from a computer running Windows or buy retail package.

  • Compaq Mini 110 c-1100DX from BestBuy lack Instant Web

Hi people, I just got a Compaq Mini. Best Buy opened the pacakage shipped by Compaq and has installed a few relief GeekSquad 24 hours or something. In this process the power first original factory setting on sequence was seen by BestBuy. The minor problems as the machine being registered 'owner' and time zone is Pacific etc. are irritating, but fortunately they are minor. Root without password login too. Bah!

In this process, the first screen to set up the Instant Web was already dealt with by the GeekSquad geek. I don't know what they were doing, there is no trace of HP Instant Web in this notebook.  Does not light during power. Not in the list of programs on the start menu. Not in the Add/Remove Programs list.

The geek squad spoil? Is it possible to select certain choices in the power, that will remove all traces of instant Web? I really like the idea of the web instantly. When on the road, I would feel very safe using a linux based splashtop browser in cafes and airports. And the opportunity to move to the entire window is nice. Many critics have said that they are rarely a full boot because the instant web is so much faster to start.

Please let me know., if Tech service HP watch please answer quickly. I am ready to return the product to Best Buy and fight against the costs of restocking with the Manager.

Why am I reported as a student?

I am a Geek Squad agent. Looks like you have either a prΘconfiguration netbook or a floor model. Go back to BestBuy and they will be without fresh restore to the factory settings. Also if you are interested, if you optimize it that they will remove all startup which is useless for applications. Install all the latest Windows updates and finally install the agent tweaks that will tweak Windows runs faster for you.

I personally own the same model I bought to work and I love mine, it's a good deal for the price. I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on mine, and I am very impressed by the quality of construction and the speed of this machine!

Don't worry about Best Buy if we are here to help, so if you have problems with any software added that Geek Squad we'll take care of it for you to all least offers you a restore with permission to factory default. The Geek Squad 24-hour support tool is a very light running the application that will not degrade the performance at all. It is a tool that allows you to connect to a remote agent and discuss briefly with them for free and if you need to remote assistance, it can be launched as soon as the tool.

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

If there are Windows 7 drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the mother/chipset, SATA, LAN card drivers, Audio, USB, graphics, Webcam, Etc., and so on.

I bought a genuine product Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard about 3 years ago. After the initial installation (with serial number) applications worked well (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.). However, I could only use Acrobat a few weeks before the software did not react more. After this time all pdf files can be manually opened with Adobe Reader, but not with Acrobat. Because Acrobat seems to be the default program to open pdf files, nothig happens if I double click on a pdf file, or if a pdf file to be generated from a site Web etc. At the beginning, I was able to reinstall Acrobat from the CD and it would work for a few weeks yet. This has been the case for the past three years. Now, even the resettlement option no longer works and the error message "Is not a real product from Adobe" is displayed during installation. As I said, all the other parts (Illustrator, Photoshop...) work fine and I don't have a product code, serial number etc. What could be the problem and how can I solve this problem? When I uninstall Acrobat, all PDFs open automatically via the Adobe Reader software. But I need more than just to read a PDF file. Help, please!

    Hi Andreas,

Try the fix mentioned in the KB: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html

    Kind regards

  • Why I can't run my Lightroom 6 (not CC) after that I use it only once? After a reboot (7 Wi\ndows), I can only use and closr LR once. This is after I did a recent update.

After a reboot (Windows 7) I can only use my Lightroom 6 (not CC) once. It will not start again. This happened after I did an update. I can not even find the program id in my Windows Explorer. Al; so, I visit the Web site and see that I have a license for the program, but it can not load again. Why not?

I have experienced the same problem and advice from Adobe fixes it-

If Lightroom remains present in the task manager then try this procedure.

    Procedure-

    1. Make a restart/re-start computer
    2. Open Lightroom
    3. Open the Task Manager. (CTRL + ALT + DELETE)
    4. Right click on the App - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom-
    5. Select "see details" «
    6. Right click on "Lightroom.exe.
    7. Click on "set priority".
    8. Set the priority to 'high'.
    9. Close the Task Manager.
    10. Close all programs and restart the computer
    11. While you open Lightroom - reset the preferences by pressing [SHIFT + ALT].
    12. LR control closes correctly.
