  I read your message and understand that the webcam and MIC do not work on your HP Envy Ultrabook 4-1015dx. I have studied the issue and have developed a possible resolution. First of all, please perform a reset. Once this is done, please follow the steps described in these documents:

  1. HP PC - Webcam troubleshooting (Windows, 10, 8)

  2 HP Notebook PC - test a Webcam using YouCam (Windows 10, 8, 7)

  3. HP PCs - troubleshoot microphone (Windows, 10, 8)

  If the document does not have you helped to solve the problem, try to restore the BIOS , then check the updates of windows.

• Pavilion dv6 problem with webcam and microphone

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6156ea, which is a little more than a month.  It runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
  Today, tried to use the webcam and microphone for the first time, a Skype call, but none of them does not seem to work.
  The webcam is not displayed in Device Manager, but the microphone is.
  When I opened Cyberlink Youcam, it does not recognize that there is an internal webcam.
  What should I do to activate the microphone and the cam?

  I followed the link below and follow the instructions.  But the webcam is not displayed in Device Manager.

  Feel a little silly answering myself, but no one responded and I thought it is best to share what I found out.

  The webcam was defective, straight out of the box.

  And the microphone is connected to these features, but uses a different driver - if your microphone works, it could be a sign that your problem is with the driver for the cam.

  I bought the PC world a month ago, so there was although it is very busy.  It was the second faulty webcam in HP they had returned today - most early was a dv7.  There was no problem with replace - they took a glance, considered to be the installation of the drivers on a disc, but when it was not displayed in Device Manager and the microphone works not more, they knew right away.

  It really shows control of very poor quality of Hewlett-Packard.  It's a shame that in the first weeks, I was really happy with this model, but realistically, now I know that this is what looks like their QC, when my company needs its next piece I'll go with anything other than HP.

  I recommend you the driver for Toshiba Satellite L500 series area.
  There you can download the drivers for Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit OS.

  OK, a couple of things different on your workstation. First, it was created in the Microsoft answers Site Feedback Forum. This is the section dedicated to questions about the site itself and not necessarily computer issues. The moderation team has moved your question to the images and video Forum where the answers community can consider your question and provide assistance on this issue.

  Second, make sure you have the latest device drivers for the webcam and audio drivers (in fact your video drivers as well if they are separated) for version approprieate of the operating system that you use. You can get those for the manufacturer's website.

  Recentlly I bought a toshiba L305-S5933 and by the problems of Vista I downgraded to Win XP.

  So I have so many problems with the drivers of the keys FN and Multi Media (multi media drivers = pause/play-stop-previous-next buttons w. media player and winamp, etc) the multimedia keys I fix with a few downloads.

  I do many searches and downloads, and with this low I can fix the multimedia keys for win media players (that touches race only in WMP, Winamp don't work (I don't know why :()))

  The Toshiba control buttons (play, pause, stop, etc.) are assigned to Windows Media Player.
  If you want to use these buttons in WinAmp, then you must activate it in the settings of WinAmp.

  I think that you should look into the Options-> settings-> global shortcuts (or something like that).

  You see a speaker icon in the system tray?

  Did you check if the volume is muted?

  Try inhibition and then reactivate the main Volume.

  If you see not the in Device Manager Realtek sound card, download the Realtek drivers on the Toshiba site.

  The microphone is a part of webcam if it s enough if you reinstall the driver for the webcam. Latest version can be downloaded on the official website of Toshiba. If the driver is installed, make sure that the webcam is set as default input device. You can do this in the audio settings of Windows.

  In windows, check 'device manager' and make sure your webcam is enabled and disabled.

  Unfortunately, webcams and speakers are what are called periperal devices such as; keyboard, mouse, touch screen, graphic tablet, joystick, scanner, digital camera, video camera, monitor, projector, screen, printer, plotter, speakers, external hard drives, card readers media, digital camcorders, digital consoles, etc...

  Now some periperal devices are essential on a computer such as; keyboard, mouse and monitor so they are often provided with a PC when you buy it. Although this is not always the case, you can buy the Tower separately. If other devices like a webcam and microphone are not essential to the use of a computer are not included. This will keep the versatile unit enough that you can use the computer in various settings. Not everyone will not want or need a webcam or a microphone, they may want an external hard drive or a combination of features.

  I would recommend when buying a computer on which you inquire of what material is included in your purchase in order to get a unit that includes the elements you want in the future. In your case, I suspect that you would have received more than one HP TouchSmart all-in - One PC rather than a tower.

  Now for what webcam and microphone to get, although I personally find a webcam which has the built microphone reduce costs and ease of installation that you have only a set of drivers to worry. I would also ensure that the webcam is compatible with Windows 8.1. Except that all you need to do is follow the installation instructions.

  I tried to reformat my laptop a little in back and ever since then my built-in webcam and microphone will not work. My laptop is an Alienware M17XR3. I did everything that I can think of to solve the problem but nothing worked. Thought it might have deleted the driver for the webcam and the microphone if necessary.
