  I need to use the infinity symbol in Illustrator, but it is not available in Illustrator CS5 running on Windows 8.1. It is available in Illustrator 10 running on Windows XP. Is it possible to access the INFINITE character under fonts in Illustrator CS5 (Windows 8.1)?

  Illustrator 2015.3.1 - 10 of Windows with the latest updates installed and NVIDEA GTX GPU 970 (372.70) latest drivers running.

  Illustrator was working fine a couple of days. Today, when I was working on a new file and went to save, Illustrator crashed. I have re-opened, automatic backup of backup is restored, immediately try to save, down again.

  Here's what I did:

  • I checked to see if there was an update available - there were. 2015.3.1 update, restart the computer, Illustrator breaks down.
  • Try to delete the Preferences file, it deletes the automatic record of my work, so I try to edit a new file, add text, trying to save, Illustrator breaks down.
  • Open illustrator, try to disable the use of the GPU in the program, create file, add text, try to save, Illustrator breaks down.
  • Open Illustrator again, create the new file, write something, try to save, Illustrator breaks down.
  • Read online on the problems that others have any with build 2015.3.1. See that users have a problem with text, specifically the fonts on the system. Thinking that he could be bound for the fonts used (unlikely, as they are common fonts - Lato and Gotham), I open a new file, add text by using the font Verdana size, try to save, Illustrator breaks down.
  • Open illustrator, create the new file, add text, text, try to save. HAVE file, file, Illustrator IS NOT crash. Try to add more text, and as I change the text, Illustrator freezes/crashes.

  Windows Event Viewer shows the following as being the culprit, with the first line/file is causing most of the accidents:

  I am at a loss. Any ideas? Is not the first time I met problems with Illustrator CS and I'll be more frustrated when it comes to a program that I use for my livelihood, and I am constantly to uninstall the entire suite CS on my system just to get a program to work (I seriously just did about a month ago and a half to try to fix the Illustrator [ironically] with no resolution).

  After a LOT of troubleshooting with support and be wound up to software engineers/developers. It came down to a simple problem that has happened in the past with Adobe Photoshop.

  If there are all the fonts installed on the system that contains special characters in the name of the FILE (I had several that were the symbol of the brand), it will make Adobe Illustrator fails when you change a file, or when you try to save. Previously, I had this problem with Photoshop, but they released a patch that fixed, so hopefully that happens as well with the Illustrator.

  Hope this helps anyone else has a similar problem.

  Hi, I recently signed up for creative cloud and I have critical problems with Illustrator. When I try to save a file, regardless of what content is or is not in the file, Illustrator crashes and I have to force quit the application.

  I deleted my file ".plist" under Library / Preferences, uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted the machine, demolished all my corrupted fonts and whatever else I can think of without success. I even returned to test Illustrator CS5 and will now have the same problem with this program.

  I'm on a Macbook Pro running 10.7.3.

  In your applications folder, another folder that contains the files you specify more the application itself there. So, looks like you got the wrong icon in the dock. The window with this Configuration, Cool Extras, legal, Presets, etc contains also "Adobe Illustrator CS5"?

  To add to this, in case your trash folder settings and happens again, you have right or control click on the folder of the settings in the preferences and select Get Info and search for property and permissions and you can change it there to read/write.

  But when you do this, click the icon of padlock at the bottom of the window, read the information and then enter your username and password at the bottom of the Get Info there is a gear as icon with a down arrow it will allow you to apply the change to all content in the folder read/write settings.

  To search for the folder settings

  1. quit Illustrator.
  2. go to user/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe illustrator CS5 Settings and parameters, the entire record of the trash not only the contents of the folder...
  3. launch Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  We have someone using Illustrator CS5 and work with the file from 10 MB to 500 MB, most of the time. The problem is that, when you open, correct, it is slow because there is a file on the network (400 MB), but when you save it, network or not, it's VERY, but VERY slow. I mean, you click on save, and then save the file, then the program Illustrator answers does not, then you wait about 15 years, and the small window that displays the progress happens. You wait after this progress bar for like 30-40 years. It's the same thing, like even time for a 100 MB file.

  One of my friends told me that he has the same problem, but it has never had this problem with illustrator CS2.

  Windows XP SP3 update (done on computer 2 with same spec) (on CS2, was not so long, with an AMD Athlon X 2 4200 + and 3 GB of ram)

  You may be 'OFF' create a Compatible PDF file while saving time.

  Then, it will save more quickly. When you need to you can swtich on.

  I've installed Illustrator CS5 on my Windows XP machine and every time I start it up it crashes.  When I go into the error report it comes up with the following error:

  AppName: illustrator.exe AppVer: 15.0.0.399 ModName: updaternotifications.dll

  ModVer: 1.0.0.64 Offset: 0006a8dc

  I already had a copy of the installed CS4 trial but we uninstalled it including all components, CS5 of uninstalled, then reinstalled CS5.  He came again with the same error.

  Hi Lee,.

  Rename "updaternotifications.dll" should help you. It is found under the directory you have installed AICS5 i.e.

  {install_directory} \Adobe Illustrator CS5\Support Files\Contents\Windows.

  Most likely it happens because you do not have the rights to add a scheduled task on the computer you are using Illustrator.

  Illustrator CS5 is 32-bit and Windows 10 is a 64-bit OS, unstable kind of compatibility (as appropriate).

  Illustrator CS5 is not officially supported on Windows 10 and there are not too many people in this forum has been to get it to run, so you're basically on the search of your own stuff.

  Exactly as indicated by our MVP, compatibility issues hit blindly and it is not very rare that one of your apps (PS) works in this case well and I is not. Suggest you to upgrade.

  I have a problem since the installation of El Capitan. When you use Adobe Illustrator CS5, any time I try to use the eyedropper tool, the program will crash as soon as I click on the object, I'm trying to copy the color of.
