  • CS6 Illustrator error: "unable to open the Illustration."

    Hello

I am struggling with a few files Illustrator CS6 which does not more open with read-only error "unable to open the illustration." My illustrator can open on its own and other files are fine, but what happened now 3 of my files and its really frustrating.

My work around at the moment was to open the corrupted format adobe acrobat files and save as .eps, files open in illustrator, but they aren't always the same thing in the end with layers and etc.

What can I do for 'uncorrupted' these files in order to open or it least prevent this from happening again?

You need not go through Acrobat. Simply create a new file in Illustrator and then place (embed) corrupted files.

    To avoid this:

Make backup copies. Save different versions of files.

Do not save directly to removable media or networks.

    Hi sirmalik,

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

    ·         The problem occurs with all the files?

    ·         From which site you try to download the file?

    ·         What web browser do you use?

I suggest you follow these methods.

Method 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 2: Try to create a new user account.

    Create a new user account

  • InDesign CC | Error with file indd - "unable to open the file...". Adobe InDesign does not support the file format.

I encountered a very strange error with InDesign CC after you save a file created in CS4. I would like to attach the file but I don't know how to do this, if I can. The file is 44 KB and doesn't seem like it should be (file I saved was a great book cover). Now, as the original CS4 file has been replaced using InDesign CC, the file is corrupted and I get the error message shown below. The file is not open in another application. If somebody has got this before?

  • Used to be able to send pictures on Outlook Express 6.0. Now my friends are unable to open the files that I send to them.

I am running Windows XP and have all the updates.  I use a Dell computer six years but still works well.    I have Outlook Express 6.0, which I think is common to updates.  Until last week, I used to be able to go in the folder 'My images' my documents.  Then I could click on the thumbnail of the photo and choose E-mail this file option.  I can still do all of these things, and in my folder of emails sent, it seems that my email has been sent with the image in two piece attached and incorporated into the enamel.  BUT my friends say the email is empty or the picture is distorted with the bottom half cut off when they try to open it.  I haven't changed anything, why what is happening?

It would seem that something is corrupting the message when you send it, and when it happens.  Try to send you a copy of the messages you send with pictures and see if you get the message intact.  Compare what you get with what is in your sent items folder.  BTW, images are attached only once.  By default, they will appear at the end of messages if they are attached, but they are not included twice when transmitted.

If you receive a message truncated as your other recipients, find interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  You can also try to rule out problems on your computer by clicking file | Store identity in OE and establishment of a new identity, which will give you a new message and the hive of the registry, then you can add your account and test to see if this solves the problem.

    Hello Tim

Is there a message if you want to open it? You can copy data to another folder in my photos and open them?

You have this problem just with images or even other files?
    Give us more information.

  • Cannot open the document because the file is locked. Use the 'Properties' command in Windows Explorer to open the file.

I am a member of the Administrators group on my computer.  I have a folder full of files and other folders that I denied access for administrator users.  Not sure when it appeared that I had gone for the holidays, but now I am unable to open the files located in this folder.  I can delete, move, and rename at will, but can not open.  I tried all the resets of permissions I can think as well as read all knowledge base articles I can find but still not get these files to open.

I've recently updated MS Security Essentials, do not know if this has a any correlation.

At one point, I saw the certificate and it ranked as not approved.  How would this change?  Would this impact my ability to open files yet again let me move, delete and rename?  If so, how can I solve?

I restore to a restore point previous and not yet open - also received an error message telling me MS Security Essentials would not work properly.  So I undid the restore.

Thank you in advance for any input.  PatrixUSA

In fact, it starts to make a lot of sense today.  The files that you have problems with have been encrypted with EFS.  EFS is closely related to the NTFS file system.  As long as you move files encrypted in the same Volume, it is not a problem, because a move is an operation of directory and the directories themselves are not encrypted (only the files that are there).  Whenever you move an encrypted volume to another file, the file must be decrypted, transferred to the other volume, then re-encrypted to destination.  Thus, the destination volume must be a NTFS file system to keep encrypted files.  If the destination is not a NTFS volume, then the copy would result in a file that is not encrypted at the destination and you will be prompted as to whether or not to allow the operation.  In all cases, a copy of volume-volume requires decryption of the file and any operation that requires a decryption error of access for you - more your inability to open a file normally indicates that you no longer control the certificate to decrypt the file.

Backups are another matter.  If you are using Microsoft Backup utility (NTbackup), so he recognizes the encrypted file attribute and it backs up as - is without decoding.  Other 3rd third-party backup programs may not recognize the encrypted files and simply read and write to the backup media.  When this happens, the files are automatically decrypted to read (assuming the user certificates requires archiving) and writings of backup to a file unencrypted.  This would explain why you can retrieve an archive and it is not encrypted.  DVD and optical bands do not use NTFS, so a decryption of the original file is required to save in these environments.

The private part of your (needed for decryption of files) EFS encryption certificate itself is stored encrypted on your computer.  To decrypt, Windows uses your SecureID, password, and other things of which I'm unaware.  If your password is not reset in the normal way (i.e. by entering your current password and your new password) such as an administrator, then your certificate is not re-encrypted to your new password and your access lose him and with him, access to your EFS files.  Other forms of corruption can cause you to lose your certificate, but it seems that at some point you have lost access to your certificate and therefore cannot access files that have been encrypted under this certificate.

New files that you write in a directory that has been activated with EFS will notice that you have a valid certificate and then automatically generate a new certificate that will be used to encrypt files from right now.  That's why the new files that you add to this directory appear to work well.  The only real mystery what I can't explain is the reason why a system restore to a time where it wasn't a problem does not allow you to restore access.

If you want some heavy reading, try this:

"Encrypting file system in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003"

Personally, I'm not fan of the EFS because of problems like this.  I prefer the freewareTruecrypt which is just as safe, but I myself manage keys (in the form of password) instead of Windows.  Also, it hides the names of files and can be used safely on a connection in network and backup from windows volume is encrypted little matter how they are done.  I have not lost all data encrypted in more than a decade.

  • A general error occurred; to open the file

Just added a 3rd esx 3.5 server to the cluster.  Configurations correspond to one extreme I can say.  But when I try to migrate a virtual machine from one of the other two for one third of the error a general system error occurred, unable to open the file appears.  We even tried rebuilding esx server and it time to the cluster but nothing helped.

I read in some other threads you need to right click on the virtual machines that you cannot migrate and update the virtual machine hardware.  How this is done? As far as I know this ability is in vsphere but not 3.5. Any ideas that might help?  Help, please!

    Thank you

    SB

If you can, power off the virtual machine and perform the migration or the power off and then turn on the virtual computer and try the migration again. I've seen this several times before, usually after I completed a storage VMotion on the virtual machine in question. Update the virtual machine hardware is possible if the virtual machine is turned off so why you can currently see as an option.

Update: Assuming that you are unable to restart the virtual machine, make sure that the data store host you ar migration has added data warehouses the same virtual machine host is currently enabled. For example, esx1 a vm1 with a store of data added by FULL domain name, esx2 will be the new home for vm1 and has the same data store has esx1, but the data store has been added by its IP address. Although the two data stores appear to be identical (i.e. going to Configuration - Storage shows them both identical) they are because they were added in different ways. This translates into different UUID, which causes the error experienced. More information on this subject can be found here: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004906

  • Open the file in Illustrator prompt 'Options text import' and does not correctly open the file.

I've dealt with this problem for a while and I'm completely stumped. A colleague was sent in the past without problem .ai files. In a few months, however, its attached .ai files to open properly.

This is the first screen I get when trying to open files:

    text-import-options.jpg

Changed without worrying what the boxes are marked or options, the result is always the same:

    illustrator-error.jpg

If you can read the error code is the following:

    {"Body": {"ErrorCode": 500, "FaultMessage": "Unable to get the flow of writing for mac attachment.", "IsTransient": false}}

Put this line of code in Google returns exactly '0' discoveries.

No one else in the company seems to have a problem with opening the file even when this colleague that it passes to them. I noticed, however, that the file is 141KO in his email, but when I download it, it shrinks to 344 bytes. I don't know if for some reason, my computer is just not download all of the information, or what could happen.

Again, these are the facts that I know:

    1. She's on a mac and I'm on a PC.

    2. we are both using Illustrator CS6.

3 other colleagues from work on the PC do not have this problem when it automatically sends it to them.

    4. the file reduced from 141 Ko to 344 bytes when I try to download from his email.

Edit: I just was sending email for my personal gmail account and the file opened perfectly, so this seems to be a problem with office365.com that is where my company email. Everyone else here uses the same messaging service, however, so it's always an issue with my account.

Any help or ideas would be very appreciated.

    Thank you!

Tell him to compress the files before sending them. The e-mail process is pipes files.
