It is not document-wise but rather application-wise question because sometimes, even if I create a new Document, draw something in the middle of the canvas and save it. Also, all of my existing documents which record well before, do so now. Basically, I can't successfully save a single PDF file. But it seems that the exported documents must contain the data because they have different sizes depending on the content.

  There is no problem with the backup to format I. I hope this is enough information for someone smart to diagnose this problem because I am starting to be desperate

  Oh, my friend just advised me to clear the cache and it worked! :-) I deleted files ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.Illustrator and ~/Library/Saved ask State/com.adobe.Illustrator.savedState and one of them went around :-)

• Illustrator Save - as - CheckOutHandler not called behavior

  We strive to support the scenario according to users of Illustrator update files in our system using our Adobe Reader connector:

  (1) create a new local or open a file HAVE existing premises (for example, saved on the desktop)

  We have 3 test environments: machine has Windows XP with AD3 and CS5. a machine 7 AD3 and CS5 Win and a Win 7 AD4 and CS6.

  On the Windows XP-based computer, when I select the remote file and click 'Save', CheckOutHandler of our connector is called, the file is saved, the registration dialog and a new version is logged

  On Win7 machines, when I select the file and click 'Save', I see the message immediately error "this file is set to read-only.  Try again with a different file name".  Our CheckOutHandler is never called.  In order to save on a remote file, I have to go to explore and use the context menu to check manually.

  This is the behavior expected on windows 7?  The behavior of Windows XP is a much better user experience.

  This seems to be related to the behavior of the OS.

  The same behavior occurs with a local file:

  1. create a file and save it to the desktop, and then close the file.

  2. change the file in "Read-only" property

  3. create a local file and replace the "Read-Only" file via the file-> save as menu (from here for example).

  On Win 7, the following error message appears: "this file is set to read-only. Try again with a different file name". The dialog box "save under" shows again until a different file name is chosen.

  On Win XP, the error message following appears: "file XXX already exists. Do you want to replace it? "After clicking 'OK', the dialog box" save under "can be closed.

  I'm fairly new to Illustrator and I wanted to create a vector logo based for its use in the press a web.

  If the early hours have been a lot of fun and learned so much just to try - but now im stuck. I wanted to save the result to the web / devices and if I still get some white stripes in the .gif image. I guess it comes from framing of the image and there is a solution to this problem just by making a few settings.

  But like I said after that much time lost on desperately trying to solve - I NEED YOUR HELP! so thank you much!

  You have pixelated you art in Illustrator and crushed the art to re-record the art after the pixelation it?

  Or is it still all vectors?

  If you have Photoshop so this and see if it solves the problem.

  When I save a file released Illustrator CS4 as an AI, EPS or PDF it takes about 30 seconds for the Illustrator save dialog options for pop - up. No matter how small or large the file is.   I have countless photoshop files that have vector smart objects. I used to double-click them, edit them in illustrator, save in illustrator, then back to photoshop with the updated file.

  Now I have an icon of clouds, and when I double click I get this crazy message:

  This point is not directly editable in Photoshop, but it can be placed in a document. To move the item, drag it into an open document.

  Well, I don't want to edit in Photoshop. I want to edit in Illustrator as it s always summer.

  I tried this new library thing, but I get the same message.

  I went through all the options when I right click on the smart object I just pasted in photoshop, illustrator, but nothing.

  You don't have to use the library if it messes up your workflow. If you want to change a bound and smart object which has been placed through the library, you can right-click on the layer in the layer panel and change from a link if so incorporated

  If your Illustrator illustration is vector of 100% and contains no live effects, complex gradients, blends, etc., the first thing to try is copy > paste special > enhanced metafile.

  Otherwise, SPE may work, or you can use the pixelation in PNG. Personally, I do not consider export raster format Illustrator to be a stable workflow method, so I'd be inclined to use Photoshop as an intermediate step: Illustrator > Save As PDF > open in Photoshop > save in PNG. Just my preference.

  I actually downloaded the trial version of Illustrator CC, I noticed that the workflow is a little different from CS6 (with CS6, I use the trace of the image) and I can send the drawing directly to illustrator CC, but I've always had a PNG / jpg picture I need to work more with the following steps to turn to a vector format true :

  Object > sketching and line drawing > expand path

  and of course all the layers went with the method above. And all original textures and the brush strokes are replaced by the command-line images...

  Simple question first:

  The error message does not appear to say anything - just click 'OK' and it works fine for me.

  Regarding the conversion of the brushes and work, it's a little more difficult.

  In Illustrator, (on my test), features all had a generic brush applied.   To get a better brush, I just clicked on the route of the path and then choose a new brush.

  AND

  If you use Adobe Brush (mobile application), you can design your own brushes and their port on Photoshop or Illustrator.

  BUT

  There are some things that I wasn't expecting with Adobe Illustrator brush that I had not experienced in Photoshop and use with Sketch/draw lots

After I ran the process (Tools-> Illustrator-> Trace of Image with a custom tracing Preset and record in .ai format) on a batch of images, I open them in Illustrator CC and they were all automatically re-traces before I could see them. It seems that the Illustrator is re - run the vectorization I applied in Bridge. Save the file under a new name doesn't make a difference.

  However, when I saw trace a file directly in Illustrator, save as .ai and re - open, the file opens fair and does not get automatically re-assigned each time.

  I can do to prevent the re - trace the images that I traced to the bridge of Illustrator? I have a few trace files and want to use Bridge to batch processing them, if possible.

  Maybe someone can find a solution if there is only the path of access/text objects in the document you. (for example: K = 0.3 * R + 0.59 * G + 0.11 * B etc.)

  Otherwise, I don't think that is possible with Javascript, for example, if you have rasterItem stir, there is no way to change it to grayscale with JS (except re-rasterize).

• Bug in CS5 render anti-aliased text in "save for web".

  Looks like there is a bit of a bug when using 'save for web and devices' with light weights of type in CS5 for Mac. Although the slim type looks good while working in Illustrator, as soon as you enter the "Save for web" dialog, it gets seriously distorted. It seems that this issue has been present at least since CS4. It happens not in Photoshop. It seems particularly bad for light text on dark background.

  Some people may say ' of course, Illustrator is not really intended for work intensive bitmap. However, with features like "look pixelated" and 'hold on to the pixels', Illustrator is (usually) become a very effective way for web design, and personally I prefer it to Photoshop. It is also clear that Adobe intends it to be used in this way. In order to make anti-aliasing bug is certainly a problem. Just surprised that they don't have not address it when CS5 is born.

  In save for web go to the "Image size" tab and select type optimized menu. It takes the smoothing parameter that you selected in the character Panel.

• Cannot print files have since Indesign and Illustrator

  I tried to find my answer on other posts here, but couldn't.

  Background: we have CS4 and place a variety of vector maps directly from HERE into our InDesign documents that they are related. We use the similar card formats in other files and have not had any problems in past years, or until this InDesign file. This particular ID file is 290 pages and 12 492 kb, which is not much different then our other documents) they are long text documents, our 8 cards are the only graphics.

  It's only the cards in this file will not print from InDesign, Illustrator or Adobe Acrobat (9 Pro). our copier or our regular printer. Everything prints then when our map section rises, the printer stops. (All cards fine print for our other InDesign documents that were created using the same templates) We have had no problems printing to date.

  We tried without success:

  Export to PDF (cards still wont ' print from the PDF file)

  Export the Indesign document as in the Exchange and re-registration.

  Re-create the Illustrator file

  Copy and paste the file in a new document Illustrator.

  Are there preferences of the user or memory problems that could be the cause? Another way to check the file do to possible corruption?

  We do not get the message error from illustrator or InDesign guests.  The programs aren't break not just the printer does not print the cards. I wonder if split this 290 page Indesign file can help, but the strange thing is that our other files like this all very well.

  That tells me a lot and narrow your problem down to be in the illustrator file. When you recreated it, did you copy and paste elements from the original?

  Your file could not be printing because:

  • You have a corrupt font, you use
  • A very large amount of vector point and you are overflowing limitcheck
  • Some points are confusing interpreting postscript (for example: 10 points of vector not connected directly on top of the other)

  Try to select > object > stray points and remove them, if they are not needed.

  Otherewise, I recommend the ILLUSTRATOR CHOP SHOP TECHNIQUE

  1. In illustrator, save a copy of the file
  2. Select items in half
  3. Remove them and try to print
  4. Keep doing this until the document print
  5. Once it prints undo your last deletion and try to find the exact faulty component.
  6. If you deleted everything and the document does not print, your problem would have probably been set by selecting all and paste into a fresh illustrator document.

  The chop shop has set several files for me over the years, hope it solves your problem unprintable.

  • We can output from multiple layers into a single PDF in illustrator?  Or several layers in single format JPEG from illustrator with a single command instead to save individually each layer... would be a huge timesaver for me. I create different works on different layers...
  • Currently I pulled out each layer individually filled then right-click on these JPEG output files in the output folder and choose "combine taken supported files in acrobat... "to create a unique acrobat... I would do things in Illustrator "save to PDF" dialog box. Add something in the Save to output PDF save layers to a single PDF as dialog box several pages would be a useful time saver...
  • I would also like to be able to CTRL click several layers and go ' Save as... '. "only these layers be saved on...

  Output of layers multiple to several files seems to be a step backward. I guess you used several layers because that Illustrator had no feature of multiple pages or multiple-work plan. It does now, your request is rendered null and void.

  Please try to uncheck "Create a PDF Compatible file" when you save the Illustrator file.

  If you select this check box (the default is selected), Illustrator saves PDF data with embedded EPS data.

  Maybe your linked EPS data is compressed, and then 20 MB on the desktop, but not compressed in PDF or less compress does cause huge size.
