iMac 5K has stopped working

I was with my imac and suddenly the screen went black, then I tried to turn it on and all I hear is just a "click", nothing else happens. the screen even turns. I checked the power cord and it was fine. What could happen? (The iMac is 2 months old)

    I recently made a bunch of system updates (I've been long) and my internal screen no longer works. At startup, the gray screen appears and then goes to black before loading the full operating system. I connected to an external monitor that seems to work without problems. Every now and then when I wake up my computer, the internal display works for up to a minute then goes black again.

    I tried some basic troubleshooting things that seem to help: 1. turn off the computer, unplug and leave for a few hours. 2 reset the NVRAM 3. I tried to run AHT but I'm do wrong ("D" of operation at startup) or I do not see the it, as my external display only started working once the operating system has started.

    I wonder if it's a hardware problem or a software problem or even how I know.

    A few years ago, I upgraded to 32 GB of RAM, which is not officially supported but have not had any problems with the computer since I did the upgrade.

    I'm on an iMac 27 "2009. MC507LL/A

    Any help would be greatly appreciated on how I can fix this, or at least to know the cause of the problem. Please let me know if there is any additional details that may help to resolve the issue.

    You have the same problem if you try to restart in RecoverHD?  If you do,

    Then, you can pretty well assume that you have a hardware problem.

    If the startup in RecoverHD works fine, then restart normally with the external display

    and back up all your data as a precaution.  Then reboot in Recovery and reinstall

    OSX.  He should ' t do anything else, but the backup must be just in case.

    You must install the Adobe programs since the original installation programs. Never migrate from a backup.

    Activation Adobe should detect a computer when the material has not been changed.

    If this isn't the case, you must contact Adobe support.

    I just bought a new iMac and used the Migration Assistant to transfer all my programs from my old computer.

    When I try to run my copy of InDesign CS4, I get the error message:

    License for this product has stopped working

    Error 150:30

    Because the new iMacs don't have disk drives, I can't reinstall using my original DVD discs.

    Adobe online support team have said that they are unable to help.

    The approval of repair does not work in Yosemite

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Download the CS4 products

    And set the permissions on the appropriate files. The rest is between you and your Mac - what about Adobe are, that CS4 is not officially compatible with Yoesemite.

    Hi I really need an Adobe CS3 expert and help of a Mac expert. I've been troubleshooting two days without success. I've been in the forum trying to solve the mystery of my CS3 software closed. I have an imac with Snow leopard 10.6.8 2006.

    My daughters also have an imac (latest 2010) and since I have two educational edition of Adobe CS3 One's WEB the other is Design Premium. At the same time I had once installed on mine, and then put the Design Standard on my computer of girls leave my 17 years artistic ols use Photosshop for school.

    Everything has been working fine until two days ago, while in Photoshop on my computer, no error message has been seen.

    I tried to reinstall, also uninstall and reinstalled. Repeated uninstall / reinstall with cc cleaning, re start after each step.

    I called Adobe thinking that they cut me, since ironically the two computers are the same! They said they don't do that. I never registered my products, but have two teas products. # The person to whom I spoke joined my S3 yesterday. She said resettlement should work.

    When I reinstall I am not asked for the numbers.

    Last night I uninstalled, cleaned and restored, then software Monday. Same thing is happening. AGH!

    If a has a living using this software I would register to use the new CC but because I'm in the recognition phase, I want to just my CS3 back.

    Looking for a saving grace. Thanks for your help!

  • Firefox has stopped working completely

    Firefox has stopped working after I changed my preferences to have clear history at the close. I reinstalled 3 times (new version) will not launch. It does not restore Will not open in safe mode. At the very least, I would like to recover my favorites. iMac running OS 10.9.1. Software anti-virus disabled for this problem

    Reinstall used to do big thing for this problem, instead, you must create a new profile and transfer files from the old to the new.

    1. Open a terminal
    2. CD /Library/Widgets/Movies.wdgt/ (go to the directory of movies widget)
    3. sudo cp Movies.js Movies.js.bak (create a backup of the original file)
    4. sudo vim Movies.js (change the file)
    5. Find the line 40 (var gCurrPostalCode = null)
    6. Replace null with "YOUR_ZIP_CODE" (with quotes)
    7. Save and close the file (: wq)
    8. Log off then back on

  • OfficeJet J6480 all-in-One, scanner has stopped working

    I'm on OS 10.6.2 on an iMac Intel Core Duo.  I got a J6480 Officejet for about a year.  The scanner worked fine when I bought it first, but now it has stopped working.  If I use the HP software, I get a message "an unknown error has occurred."  If I try to scan using the buttons on the printer, I get an error of "No scan option available" on the screen.  I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the software and it did not work (although before the reinstall, the error messages comes to say, ' no scanner available, "so I guess it's an improvement?).

    I do not use the scanner a lot, but my guess, is that he has stopped working some time after I've upgraded to Snow Leopard.  I was regularly running Leopard when I bought the machine and first used the scanner.  I see a lot of messages on the scanner not working not not with Windows, but I have not found anything with Mac in particular.

    OK, one more not - we will reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    -Right (Ctrl) click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.
    -Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • Resizing in prompt screen has stopped working

    I use Fusion 8.1 on an iMac and have invited Ubuntu 15.10. Automatic resizing of the screen worked fine until today - IE, I could get the resolutions of arbitrary screen just by resizing the window. But after the update of Ubuntu, which has stopped working. Now, it is a fixed resolution, as set out in the Ubuntu community.

    I deleted and reinstalled VM tools, but that didn't make a difference. A reflection as to where I expect next?

    With the latest version of Ubuntu, you must not use the supplied VMware tools, but use Ubuntu open-vmware-tools package.

    You must not only open-vmware-tools, but also open-vmware-tools-desktop computer for the actual integration of office.

    (Sorry not a 15.10 nearby, ubuntu naming may be a bit off, try open-vm-tools if the above does not do anything in apt - get)

    I have the PS3.  A few months ago, I had an iMac 27 "10.11.2 opportunity and transferred my PS3 (plus any creative suite 3) top.  There was a window that says please register in 5 days or it will be inactive (or something like that). I did what I was supposed to do and have appreciated the help of PS3 on this new iMac.  Everything worked very well. Last night I shut down my computer before a separate software has been updated done and makes the iMac not able to start.  The only option I found was to erase the hard drive and install using Time Machine. (I use the bad terminalogy)   I did and everything was successful until I opened PS3 and see a window "license for this product has stopped working".  Help!  It is said one solution is to uninstall. When I went to the Adobe Uninstaller I saw NO PS3, but see icon with "Add or remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Production Premium" with a small arrow, that I have the means to think his alias and I don't know where he lives. Can someone help me get back my PS3?  Thank you!

    Please stay on point and help me with my problem of PS3 and not encourage me to upgrade to what is current.  I have SP6 here, but want to keep the PS3 will.

    Whenever you retrieve from a backup Time Machine, you will break licenses and need to run a repair. I know. I did it twice. As the instructions given in the doc to Adobe using own isn't enough for someone new to the procedure, I set up a screenshot guide.  Layout error 150:30 opening Photoshop cs4 on Macbook Pro

    If you go through this guide to screenshot and do exactly as indicated, you won't make those mistakes. Perhaps it would be good to read first. I carefully put in place this guide, my instructions are good in their current form, do not do anything else.

    In the first post #11, I forget to add a space after "sudo python" before you drag the licenserecovery.py to the command line, and I never load any type of break line or before you drag the script.

    Second: In #15 if you simply slide the script into the window, it will be on the same line.  What you see is the packing of command to work around the size of the window, but it is always on the same line and will run when you enter your password.

    You will also see that there is a space between "python" and the script in the screenshot.

    Again, if you are new to this, read first.

You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product or contact your COMPUTER administrator or Adobe customer support for assistance. "I've uninstalled and reinstalled from the original disks, with the same result. What do you propose to do that, besides, of course, the upgrade my computer and software for the newer and larger versions? This machine and this version of the software, perfectly fits the needs I have at the moment. There are other, more recent machines running more recent versions, full license of all software, already in my shop.

    "Licensing has stopped working" quite suggested adobe: remove Flexnet license repair tool, disk permissions ext ect. I recently had a new hard drive put in my IMAC, after the failure of a last they improved BONES to 10.9.2, perhaps this has something to do with it? Impossible to uninstall the last hard drive? idk. I couldn't reach anyone at adobe, and although I've seen other people with the same problem I saw a solution. @

    After research on the internet and in discussions with several Adobe service representatives, the answer is so simple! CS4 is not compatible with 10.9.2!
